I received an e-mail to complete a survey and receive a free laptop computer. The survey involved signing up for services and products. I signed up for a couple of magazines and a trial for Hoodia. The next thing I know I have all of these companies calling me. I received a test message on my cell phone from UR Bid4Prizes and was charged 9.99 for opening the text message. It was a good thing that I contacted my cell phone company and inquired about this charge. I was getting close to using all my minutes this billing cycle, so I used the #646# code frequently to make sure I didn't go over. It would take an hour or two to show the new total. Apparently Nextel does not understand the words "cancel my account,." When I called to cancel my account in August 2007, which had two lines on it, they only canceled one phone line but they do not automatically cancel all lines!
