Linda of Bedwell Van Lines quoted us a rate for moving from our house in Pickering to our new residence. This was confirmed in an email months before the moving date. On the date of the move, Mark - A Bedwell employee asked us to sign a credit card form with a higher rate and they used a 2nd truck without our consent. He said not to worry as this is standard procedure and we won't be charged a higher rate on the actual statement that will be sent to us. I logged a claim with African Independent on 31 August. I sent through all paperework by Wednesday 2 September 2009. I bought a Vista tent and on the first use discovered a whole in the mosquito net. The glue in the included repair kit was old and unusable. The storage bag for the tent is also ridiculously small. The adjuster of the zip on a sleeping bag also came loose after 3-4 uses. I am an experienced camper who owned other tents and sleeping bags, but this quality must be the worst I have ever seen! In October of 2009 my daughter was down in Mexico at a Hotel there. Before going I phoned Telus Communications Company to make sure we were covered for calls to Mexico that I direct dialed and was told I would pay .15 / minute. This company is fraudulent! I was contacted by someone who expressed a KEEN interest in an item I was selling on craigslist. Before even seeing the item (a wheelchair lift) or haggling on the price they had this fake shipping company contact me to pick up the lift. The "buyer" agrees to make their payment to Paypal saying that Paypal would then pass the funds along to me within a few days. Deciding to use PSADNA to authenticate my Buck O'neil bobble head was one of the worst mistakes I've made in my life!! The bobblehead came back broken in 9 pieces! I made reservations at this Bed & Breakfast for our 22 Wedding Anniversary, paid with a credit card and then a few days later the inn keeper called and stated that she made a mistake, there were no rooms available. The truth is that there was a wedding that weekend and she made a mistake and asked if I could change my reservations. Would you? Not very professional. This company runs the classic moving scam - they quoted us $750 for a one-bedroom move from Vancouver to Toronto. The front end customer service was great. Things quickly go downhill once they have your stuff, however. We ended up paying $2500 (Capital would not release out belongings until we paid in full), our delivery was over three weeks late and a lot of our stuff was badly damaged (no compensation, as their contracts have fine print that makes the deductable consistently higher than the value of goods).
