I had a disastrous moving experience with American Choice Van Lines. I have been moved professionally 5 times and know what to expect and how to pack for a move. I was moving a 4-bedroom house full of furniture and effects. Estimated quote was 9, 000 lbs. I had them look again and they up'd it to 12, 000 lbs. (what I was expecting to see). This was a cross-country move from Oregon to Oklahoma. Below are some of the problems incurred.

My mother & I bought a yard works electric lawn mower last summer. and from the first time we used it, it didn't really cut the grass very well. It is also a lawn thatcher and that works very good. I just bought the Sizzlin' Cool Speed Boat for my son. The inside of the boat takes on water very quickly and it only stays afloat for one minute before sinking, at which point it needs to be turned up side down to drain the water out. I plan to return it tomorrow and try one of the other Sizzlin' Cool boats that have a covered top. I hope the new one is better. Why on earth would Toys R Us manufacture a kid's boat to be played with in the water that sinks in one minute?!

I have Alltel wireless internet, since I am in an underserved location. It costs $59.99 per month and I thought I was getting a non-contract service since I purchased the equipment for full price. However, Alltel claims I have a two year contract, will not give me credit for the times it freezes, will not release me from my contract, will not give me any assistance other than to say that Alltel's technology is not advanced enough to handle the number of people using their service. read full review »

Beware of the Home Decorating Company, an "authorized" online retailer for many bedding and home decorating companies. Their parent company is The Yankee Retail Company.
I placed an order for bedding from Yankee Retail on Feb. 4, 2009, and became concerned when two weeks had passed and I didn't receive the products. When I contacted the company they said it was due to ship in May. I canceled the order and requested a refund. They said it would appear on my card in 7-10 days.

When the full bottle is held to squeeze the sides of the cap while turning the bottle, bottle is so flimsy that as it opens the liquid pours over the top losing liquid over the vanity. However, the beer that i had purchased today (Batch no 017) was low on fermentation and had worst taste and fowl smell. Alltel was nothing special but at least you could deal with someone local. I bet i have made 3 dozen cable outage calls this year. I made 4 call 2 weeks ago. When no one showed up after 4 days I drove to the local Windstream store. Apparently not one of my outage calls had been reported to the local office. Every time I call I request a supervisor to call me and the service tech to call when they are on their way out. Never one call! The Worst! They outsourced our move to another moving company and didnt tell us. My sister had a 1 bedroom apartment that she had to move from atlanta to VA because of a promotion in 10 days. They charged us for 900 lbs over the weight limit. She has 1 queen bed and 1 couch that they say took up 3 crates which come to find out weigh 1400 lbs each empty. My friend recently used this company to help her move her belongings in a 1 bedroom apartment. She called the corporate telephone number,
1-888-881-8161 for a local move. Give her a great quote of 91.99 per hour, minimum 1 hour time and 2 hours free travel time. She told them she does not need 2 hours free travel time since she is moving locally. No further discount but there is a 15% surcharge on total cost. I did charge on my Reliance India Calling Card on the new 1.99 cents India calls. After I did the recharge I was still charged @ 6.9 cents per minute. When I called Reliance they informed that you have to first change your plan to new Plan and then recharge... what a dump reason. I asked if they change my existing minuted to new plan because it was in the promotion period they said no and also refused to refund me and said they they cannot do anything about it.
