As an animal lover, I have had my fair share of animal friends. I shop at various pet stores, but none have ever treated me so bad like Ricks Fish and Pet store in Frederick, Maryland. I go into Ricks to purchase Cichlids for my 20 gallon tall tank, and they tell me that this tank is too small and that they could not sell me any fish because of this tank size. I ordered the EBay marketing system. I had used EBay in the past and I had just opened up a store and was looking to expand my inventory. I thought it sounded good. It did too good to be true! I received a bill with an over the limit fee of $29 along with a $56 membership fee so I paid off the balance in full and called to cancel my card. A month later I get a letter stating that my account will stay open for 2 consecutive months before it closes and if there are any other charges on the account, (the account that I specifically asked to be closed a month earlier) the account will remain open and membership fees will continue. I dropped my car off at Brake Masters at Oracle and Ina in Tucson Arizona to have my front brakes checked. My parents have done business with them for years, I have spent at least $600 with them and my friend does business with this very location of Brake Masters. I was stupid enough to try this rental program they told me that I had to pay $85 to even get a listing of the homes they had so I did and in return I found no home and now I'm out of $85. We have moved into a new property in the past 3 weeks and unfortunately it has a gas pre-payment meter. I phoned British Gas to get a card to allow us to top up the meter and they assured me one was on the way, in the meantime they sent out an engineer to give us the £10 emergency credit facility. Read similar complaints on this site about their cancelation scam. They billed me for 6 months after I sent cancelation form, and battled with the credit card company because they continued to pay them each month. Their "headquarters" in Toms River would tell me they never received my cancelation form, and because I could not prove I mailed it, they would not refund me for their continued billing. I took my car to Purrfect Auto to get a diagnosis of my engine to check the compression because it lost power and has rough idle. I tried changing the spark plugs, but could not remove because they were too tight. They told me in order to complete the diagnosis, they would need to remove the valve cover and would cost another $150. I said to do it. Booked a ticket to Oaxaca that I couldn't use because of work. Called at the time to ask them what the procedure was for reimbursement and/or flight changes. I was told I had a year to use the ticket with a $100.00 fee for the change, including changing the ticket to another destination. This company is quite crass and unprofessional. I've been doing poor business with them since 2004 and have regretted it since... Now I keep track of all my bills each and every month: they are 1st written out, next to the amount due, then followed by the "DUE DATE". Altura Credit Union is the king of NSF ripoffs. They say they are non-profit, but that is not true. They are always looking for ways to charge you some type of fee or debit your checking account before crediting any deposits you do to charge NSF fees. The company quoted me for installation of ice maker for a new fridge, $60, and claiming a maximum of $70 for running the water from sink area to the fridge. Just print the Rebate form and send it in for the Free Vista Express Upgrade Disc. I called the Rebate center at 1-800-817-5602.
