NCL is the only line I know of that now x-rays all checked baggage looking for alcohol. We had one bottle of special wine in my bag to celebrate an anniversary. They held my bag until I paid a $15 ransome. Our balcony room was tiny and the balcony itself was postage stamp size. Very much not worth all the extra cost.
