I purchased a Remote controlled Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan W/light fixture. I turned it on today to use and it was on for about an hour when it started making a noise in the fan, so I turned it off. A little while later I smelled something burning and there was smoke pouring out of the fan, it somehow turned itself back on and I ran and turned off the main power to it. I had to call 911. I tried to reach this company by both their customer service phone number (281-356-1400) and their office number (281-356-9939) without success due to either no answers and then to a recording that the number was disconnected. That sent up a red flag, so went to my bank to have any further electronic check that they may have intended to collect, stopped. Then, I went to their email address and found more people had experienced the same thing and were 'ripped off' by them. Purchased outfit on friday afternoon, tried to return it on Tuesday afternoon because the store is closed on Sunday and Monday and was told by the owner that she does not take returns. No where in the store is there a sign stating that. I attempted to respond to a survey which suggests a 2500 shopping spree. The survey questions were endless and required that I sign on to at least one offer to participate in this spree. It explicitly states on the sales receipt no purchase necessary therefore why is it necessary that I must accept one of the offers. I view this as misleading and bordering on fraudulent. I ordered a sofa, chair and ottoman in Oct 2006. It was a special order. They delivered at the end of Jan 2007. Chair was damaged. There was a small hole in the fabric on the top of the chair. Late in the evening, 4 of 5 times in the past couple of months the ice cream machine seems to be down. They said that it was being repaired. When I get to the window and ask for a comment phone number line, they could not find it and the ice cream was said to have run out. I live in Orange County, CA and was stuck in San Diego, CA due to car trouble. I had to phone my boyfriend by calling from a payphone and having it billed to my home telephone number. I just got the bill from Legacy and it is ridiculous. For 10 minute I was charged $17.80, 3 minute $10.97 and for 5 minutes I was charge $25.75. The less time I talked the more they charged. Did a pay day loan app. over the phone then was told that I would receive a 1,000 dollar shopping spree if I took part in their promotion for only 1.99 for shipping so I gave them my bank info which I had to give anyway for the pay day loan. They took out 12.00 and my account was therefor overdrawn and I WAS CHARGED 20.00 for insufficient funds. I would like to cancel this whole thing. Add me to the club. My refrigerator is 14 months old and is on the brink of leaving me. Upon delivery a shelf bracket was broken. I had to drive to hhgregg to get one from a floor model, they did give me gas money and refund my delivery cost. Two months later the right door and an alignment problem, had to have a repairman to fix that. The game that Savemart has going has certain cards on the end with numbers that could be drawn to win. The game card says to go to savemart.com to find out details about winners, however, there is no game button to push. I spend a lot of my paycheck shopping at savemart and I feel that they have let me down as a consumer.
