I made the costly mistake of joining the Fitness Edge in Stratford, CT. This company uses ABC Financial to collect their membership dues. I joined last December at one of those booths that they had set up in the Trumbull Mall. Well I should have taken the time to read their contract before I joined because they have a lot of gotcha's that they don't disclose at the time you sign up. Typical telemarketing scam where they make it seem as if you've won something but to qualify for your winnings you have to buy something. But the real scam comes when they get your credit card number anf then sign you up for more over priced subscriptions than you bought in first place. And that's for five years by the way. I have no idea where this originated. I did authorize two charges as a result of two investigative journalist's reports and those charges went through as planned. When I tried calling this company regarding a form that I received in the mail stating that I had a car that had been towed and impounding and that there was an outstanding balance after they had auctioned off the car that they were trying to collect from me. GE Money Bank d/b/a Care Credit Cards has quite a bate and switch going. They tell you all about deferred interest and then don't give it to you. I paid religiously on my account a dental balance. Now they tell me I was late (I wasn't and have documentation to prove it) but they charged me the interest anyway. I have called, written and called again. I recently got a letter from a collection agency on this account even though I paid them this month. They hung up on me once and then I got another rude individual who told me too bad. I recently went and got my daughter's christmas pitures done and wanted to purchase a photo cd and thought the price was $10.00 to $20.00. This has been the price since our daughter was a newborn. These guys solicited my business for collections. I turned over an account that totaled $1384.79. They wrote the client claiming I agreed to settle for $450.00. They collected the $450.00 and kept putting me off on sending me money stating a certain period of time would need to go by before they could send. Before I knew it they turned off their phones and I cannot reach them. One guy I had gotten on the phone stated something to the fact they were moving and had a new number. The House of Blues in Cleveland Ohio ripped me off. I bought tickets to a concert there and when I went to see the show, it was so oversold that I could not even find a place to stand to see the concert. I ordered a few items on 11/2/07 in hopes to have them before Thanksgiving when I was visiting my family in New York. I kept checking the order status - no updates. I e-mailed 'Dan' to find out the status and even left a few voice mails - no response. My Compaq Presario V3015 NR had to be serviced due to the monitor screen being broken. I sent it in to HP beginning of August they received it August 12th. Each time I would check on its status the expected return shipment was pushed back until a MONTH later it said status : canceled. I ordered some cheesecake bites and they are nothing like the pretty picture makes them look like. It says nothing in the promo about the baited being deep fried. Whose idea was this? My daughter, who is 16, was hired to work at the Q street Sonic in Pensacola around July 2007. It was her first paid job and she was excited.
