If you enjoy the antics of the three stooges, you will appreciate the staff at the Carol Stream Hampton Inn. This hotel is a study in mismanagement and a wonderful example of how not to run a hotel. Wrong beats right by two to one at this roadside disaster. From the maids leaving no towels or tissues, but taking the remote, to the handy man plugging the Ethernet cable into an empty hole in the wall, you laugh until you cry. This ineffective stopping place for the road weary occupies what once was Illinois prairie. It took over a month to get an appointment I called in the beginning of April and the next available appointment was May 22nd! Then I got there at 10:15, my appointment was scheduled for 10:30, and I literally sat in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours before even seeing a doctor!!! By the time I got into the doctor and finished my exam it was 1:30 and 3 hours later then my scheduled appointment!! I was shopping at Advanced Auto Parts today for cleaning supplies. When I was done gathering what I needed, I went up to the counter to get in line. At this point there were 2 employees at the parts counter/register and 5 customers total in 2 different lines waiting to be helped. I guess that it really depends on who is helping you in the store. I have bought items from them once in the past with no problem. I just had an employee try to sell me a 1965 Churchill Crown as an troy ounce silver coin. 1965 Churchill Crowns are made of a copper/nickel alloy. Lying over a $28 purchase. I asked him again about the coin's silver content and he stuck to his lie. Its petty and sad really. Some of their jewelry and watches look very suspect as well but you can take a risk if you want. Topix claims to be a journalism site. With journalism comes responsibility and Topix doesn't show much of that. Topix basically is nothing short of an excuse to bash other people for profit. The company claims to have over 400, 000 forums yet employs under 50 people. When Attorney Generals or a growing number of news media question them about moderating their forums, they claim they 20 percent of their staff are dedicated to keeping the site clean. I needed my x-ray for one day. They wanted to charge $25.00 and needed 2 to 3 days. Went back to old dentist who had no fee and actually no notice needed. This company has already been mentioned on your site along with their sister company OnRebate.com. The problem is that when you try to apply for the rebates offered by TigerDirect through OnRebate, their form does not function on several required fields and thats as far as you get. I have been trying for two days to get some assistance from TigerDirect after spending several hours on the phone attempting to contact OnRebate with no luck. As one of the other people mentioned, I would avoid both of these companies at all costs if you want to keep your hard earned dollars. read full review »

All I wanted was the good deal on a Nikon camera. The told me that Nikon didn't come with certain warranties, batteries, charger, etc., and then they said they would give me a great deal on these items. Turned out that Nikon product does come with the warranties, batteries, charger, etc., except I end up paying much more than had I bought it locally. They also said I would be given free express delivery. It took a week and I was charged $49.50. To return item, I will be further charged a restocking fee that makes it an even greater loss. Unlike many others, apparently, I had no trouble receiving the glass shelf I ordered. Since I determined that it wouldn't work in a bathroom remodel, I have tried repeatedly to get a return authorization from the company. My calls to customer service have been forwarded to an answering machine which takes the message, but - you guessed it - no one returns my call. This outfit gives internet shopping a bad name. my daughter put in gas and when finished she found out the hard way that the handle of the pump was broken and kept pouring gas out and all over her hand and arm and onto her clothes, she reported the broken handle and the was told by the clerks that they knew about it. My concern is why nothing was done to prevent an incident to occur again. I was charged for the same purchase 8 times! I only received on confirmation. I have filed a fraud claim with Wells Fargo to remove all but one of the pending purchases. I received a confirmation only on one purchase. The other attempts I received “404 Error” messages and no confirmations. However, my account reflects 8 pending charges for the same purchase! The Kiyoseki Flat iron is a really good flat iron...until it breaks. The first flat iron I received did not even turn on. The replacement they sent me worked perfectly for about two or three months. All of a sudden, in the middle of my almost finished hair, the iron had an electrical short. That was the end of that. The good thing is that they are willing to send me my money as soon as I return the iron and the contents that were sent to me. This product is defective (as was demonstrated in my two flat irons.) We have been in our trailer since 2000. Our loan originated with Greentree then sold to Conseco and then back to Greentree. I have only had to split my monthly payment up 2-3 times and have never had any problems until recently. I had became pregnant in 2006 to much surprise and had to take some time off because of some problems. Very Unprofessional... damaged our stuff in the move by dragging if up cement stairs(rather than picking it up) and b/c they charge by the hour they take there time with the move(long restroom breaks, talking/texting on the phone)... when i call the manager(and it even got to the point where i talked to their branch manager) they denied everything and were really defensive. I have a prepaid Visa from Capital One and it has not been in service since the end of November 2008. I tried to use it in Nov. and could not. No where was there any information as to me even having a card or available credit with the card. My last usage of the card left me with a balance of @ 14.00 and trying to get in touch with anyone about it was like pulling teeth. I just want to know why I am being billed $431.83 with a settlement offer of $215.92, when I haven't been able to use it . We met with Jon Cannon their sales rep. who went over all of the charges and fees. We process with Quick Books and he assured us that there would be no problems interfacing directly with Quick Books. He also had us sign up for a lease on machines to process the credit cards. The company that suppodsedly interfaces with our Quickbooks did not, the machines they sent to us were shipped incomplete over the span of a month. I called Rapid Rooters to explore a possible work opportunity they had advertised. The man on the phone was extremely condescending and said "Did you not read the ad? We need fluent English.". I have been assessed at CLB 9 and it is sad to see the attitude of some of these employers who have no respect for individuals and do their best to affect their confidence negatively. I do hope that this man is in the same position soon enough and realizes the trouble a job seeker goes through just to pick up the phone and call a prospective employer.
