Northern Trust Bank charges every month horrendous banking fees. Since several month we try to clear the matter. We closed the account by end of 2008. They do not close the account, but they charge again this rip off fees of between 100 and 200 $ a month. How can I stop this? Has anyone the same negative experiences? read full review »

I am actually writing this on behalf of my new fiance who had a horrible experience purchasing a ring at the jewelry factory/exchange. He had gone there after seeing commercials stating high quality and low factory direct prices. I was only able to clearly get the phone #. I have received numerous calls on my answering machine. A couple of weeks ago I answered and stayed on the line until I got transferred to a customer rep. I told them I was not interested and to not call again. Last night I got another call. Again I stayed on the line until I got a live voice (man). I travelled in EK flight to Lisbon from Maldives via Dubai & Heathrow. My baggage were mishandled and was left in London while i arrived in Lisbon. These 2 compaines charge you a monthly fee that is not explained on the web site, and I didn't even receive what I thought I purchased. they cahrge you before your 30 day trial is up too, 2 weeks! I was a Avon representative for 5 years as well as a customer. I recently placed an order on their avon.com website for a pair of tennis shoes. I ordered exactly according to their fitting specifications regarding half sizes which is what I wear and the shoes didn't fit. I dreaded that because I knew I had to send them back. They have no good way of doing that, they don't send you a return shipping label like some online stores do. I ordered a free trial product on November 23rd and received the order on January 5th. ( I live in Canada so that may be why it took so long) I was charged shipping charges for this order, as stipulated on their website. On December 15th I was charged $ 63.44 Canadian and on December 30th I was charged another $82.22 Canadian. I have not received any other product and did not agree to automatic shipments. While CNN, MSN and other news groups have written A+ for this company-here is the skinny. For $1.99 they provide information as stated. They will e-mail you regarding your $1.99 charge and provide product immediately. However within a week you will see .02 transaction appear as an international service fee, then 2 days latter in my case $68.13 charge on account for MYGRANTDOLLARS. I bought two packs of cat food at HK$119 each but was charged $143 each (about 15% difference!). I didn't notice the price difference until I got home. I then went back to the store but the salesperson refused to return the difference to me. I filed a complaint to the Consumers Council. My father had rented equipment from Shoppers, an oxygen machine. The assistant manager phones me at my home and demands the equipment back or bill me $100 rental. Avainca told my travel agent my flight was changed from 6 PM to 11:55 PM when i got the airport the plane left at 6 PM they made me pay $150. to change my ticket. I called to have a perkins loan consolidated with the rest of loans which had already been consolidated. For some unknown reason, this one loan remained outstanding. In September an employee walked me through the site and choose the appropriate application and guided me through the questions.
