Magic Chef Wine Cooler
August 7, 2007
My Magic Chef wine cooler, MCWC16MCG, died last week. It was an '05 Xmas gift; purchased at Home Depot in Seattle; operational for the last year in my home in Medford, OR. It is my belief that the Compressor has failed. Where can I take the unit for service? Thank you for a prompt response. Marlene Henselman read full review »

Westgate Resorts - WestgateResorts.com
August 7, 2007
West gate Resort in Orlando is based on timeshare sales. We went there on an offer and was told we would have to sit through a "presentation." The presentation started at 0730 am and the high pressure sales continued through to noon. Four and a half hours of the salesman pushing the sell. He started by telling us ... no pressure, just a presentation. He would not come up for air, and after we told him no thank you, he brought another person to make us another offer, then a third person after we again declined. When it was all over we... read full review »

Zenith XBR616 DVD Player
August 7, 2007
I bought the Zenith XBR616 DVD plus VCR player/recorder in November 2006. I promptly had to replace it under warranty a month later. In July 2007, the unit only played about half of the DVDs inserted into it. I called Zenith's customer relations and they told me that the parts would be under warranty, but that the labor expired after 90 days. I could mail it in for free, but it would cost me $69 in labor just to start looking at the unit. I decided against that since it only cost about $100 new. For now, the unit resides in my bedroom for infrequent use. Bottom line, skip buying this unit. Crushed in Cedar Grove read full review »

So I guess what you are confirming is that is OK for you to make a product where some fails in less than the 36 months that has nothing to do with mileage that you feel that's OK to make and install such a shabby product on what used to be the good name of Chrysler. And that its OK to have parts that don't last 3 years , but you use the mileage excuse to deny a claim even though you and I know that mileage should not have anything to do with power window motors that fail at the same time. No wonder people are moving to foreign... read full review »

Dan Vaden Chevrolet-Olds-GEO

My son from out of town, is driving my Chevy Lumina Euro on 95 N in Georgia. The car breaks down, stalls out, and is disabled, now on the side of the road. This Chevrolet dealership quotes a 25% markup on the Tow truck's bill, $90.00 to look at the car to quote repair charges, and storage fees. A couple of phone calls later, and I am being treated fairly at an independent, family owned repair shop. You really do wind up paying for the pretty building at these dealerships. The tool itself, supposed to sharpen just about anything, leaves nicks in blades, but most egregious is that there are no "freebies" as the tv ad implies - they cover the total cost and profit of the products with an enormous handling charge, $24 for something it costs UPS under $4 to deliver. This is a total scam. It's returnable, but of course they will not refund their highly excessive processing charge. I am reporting this to our State consumer fraud division and returning it on principal as well as dissatisfaction with the... read full review »

Have you ever heard of losing you deeded week even after you have paid for the yearly maintenance fee as well as the collection fee (another 50%)? Does this sound reasonable? It sounds very fraudulent to me. Now that I have paid for the yearly maintenance fee, my "deeded" week is still in a forfeited status. After trying to resolve the issue with the "owner association", Jackie Riggs, her response was she has to "look out for the interest of the other owners of the association." I flew from Houston to Detroit on August 5, 2007 (with a plane change in Chicago). I had just purchased a brand new suitcase that weekend from Macy's. When an old beat up piece of luggage (same brand) came by on the conveyor, I thought "that is what mine will look like in a few year". Unfortunately, that was my new luggage. It must have dropped from quite a distance because the wheels were completely caved in on one side and the metal running down the side was bent and pushed into the bag. Cell Phone Companies
August 6, 2007
All cellphone companies in the US charge both the sender and the receiver of a call. So I also get billed when I answer a prankster. I believe that only the caller should be billed since he initiated it and therefore should take responsibility. This will discourage pranksters from abusing the system. This is especially annoying when you are driving and have no time to look at the caller ID when a prankster or a wrong number calls you. read full review »
