I purchased a Jitterbug for my elderly parents. I was promised delivery by Dec 22, 2007 and was charged an additional $20 for such; obviously for Christmas. Didn't arrive. My husband and I have been buying Marlboro Light 100's for about 12 years now. And we have noticed the last carton we bought, the cigarettes don't burn right, you have to light the cigarettes at least four times just to get through one. I stored my belongings with University Storage in Tampa when I went to live in China in 2002. They were bought out by Public Storage. I received a statement dated 12/15/06 from Public Storage with a note that I was paid to September 1 of 2007. The fee I paid was $706 for a year, including a free month. I originally spoke to the manager at LTDE in September, 2007. He quoted me a total price to move my articles to Puerto Rico, which I agreed to pay. The pickup was scheduled for 10-3-07. I have been with Verizon since 1999. When It started out, it was fine. Two, three years later it wasn't fine, but was usable. However, in the last six months, their service and customer service (I use the term very loosely) has deteriorated to such a point that I sometimes long for dial-up. It was explained to me that I needed a new modem. One was sent in October; it lasted three months. Tonight, while trying to re-set the modem, passwords, etc., it died. A telemarketing person called me stating that India calling is available at 4 cents a minute. I signed up for that. After a month I got a bill showing connection fee of 39 cents for each call. I called them and the customer service person stated that they have 2 plans: one without connection fee which is 7 cents and other with connection fee + 4 cents. After lot arguing he agreed to give a refund of $10 in next months bill. I got 2nd months bill, which showed 12 cents per minute and hefty tax of 30 %. I called them again. I work for a home security company that has broadband security systems. Many people buy routers so that they can use multiple computers on one high speed internet connection. This is a necessity for our broadband system, as we don't have a built in router and passthrough port in our system. I ordered a book from this company as a gift. It was sent in a bag without enough padding and, therefore, arrived with a damaged corner. Upon contacting them, I received this reply, 'Simply return the items for exchange or refund.' Not even an apology for their crummy packaging. We chose Across America because they guaranteed delivery on 12/16/07 which was when we moved into our new place in New Jersey. We had to move from California to New Jersey as I was laid off from my job and found a new job in NYC. Every week I go to the Super Kmart 4987 for spices, coffee, pet food, cosmetics, CD's, toys and or appliances. Reason being this store is convenient and open 24 x 7. The problem is I purchase items according to the price advertised on the shelves, confirm I have the correct product, correct size, exactly what is advertised. It appears that I have also fallen prey to this company. I set up an automatic debit with them for this so called merchant card and when I realized that I wouldn't have the $200 I tried to call the phone number I was given only to get a message that all circuits were busy please try again later. I too bought the trial sample for $4.95 only to be charged $69.95 about 10 later for 30 more pills. Now that I think about it that explains why I had to sign the postal receipt, that signature was taken as an agreement to authorize the additional charges. 900-968-1875 continues to call my phone(cell and home) and not leave a message. Only name that comes up on caller id at home is 900Service. You but that name in on Google and all it brings up is a website where you can obtain a 900 number to do business. I will not answer in fear that a "900" will charge me. At the urging of Arlington County Police, my wife signed-up with "free 30 day credit card reports" as my son's i.d. had been stolen. My parents bought a new Kenmore HVAC unit from Sears in September 2007 to replace our 35 year old unit. They got the master protection plan for peace of mind. I bought a SONY Blue Ray Disc Player from IEI (Interstate Electronics Inc) in Hazlet. The box was supposed to contain a one Spider Man disc, but it did not. I called IEI, and they gave me SONY 800 number. When I went through 4 numbers from one to the other to find out there is no way you can find who you can talk to within SONY who can rectify the problem. My advice: - when you buy products from IEI, open the box in front of them and make sure the box contains all contents. - Do NOT buy SONY products, if you can avoid.
