I purchased a $200 organizer from katespade.com in January. It arrived with a scratch on the back and I called the company who issued a return. However, I really needed a daytimer and decided to keep the item. I took out a $300 loan from the Little Loan Shoppe with a interest fee of $90. Pretty high but I needed a pay advance. I told them when I get my pay check but then added that the check does not clear for 3-5 business days. They said they take that into account. I should have asked more questions but I thought they were reputable. I bought a sears kenmore front loading washing machine with a 5 year extended warranty. From the beginning, it breaks down every six to eight months. We lived at the Brighton Place Apartments for more than a year, paying everything on time. Our apartment was broken into and we were robbed of almost $5000 worth of electronics and other things. There was no sign of forced entry. Therefore, it was most likely done by their own maintenance or someone in their office, seeing that they had access to keys. They didn't care. If you think they treat their members poorly then you should really hear how badly they treat their employees. For starters we have the worst benefit plan offered. I worked there for almost 4 yrs until I was terminated and spoke to over 100 people per day all of which had better benefits than I have ever been offered by the company. My wife and I have experienced problems with Shell. We feel we were lied to and sucked into buying a timeshare. We purchased 4500 at the Legacy in AZ. First they sit you down and tell you how the cost of hotels will go up each year. Then they tell you how your timeshare is a "great investment." The cost will save you thousands over the years. I received a letter from Penn Credit stating that I owed $500 from an emergency room visit. The problem was I had never been to the hospital listed on the letter (or even in that city for that matter). It turned out that the person who had visited the hospital did not provide a Social Security number and provided an address different than mine. The person was of no relation to me.
