Bankers Life Insurance has some unscrupulous agents going door to door selling life insurance to seniors. My mother is 74 years old and is easily confused. Anyone who has a ten minute conversation with her can tell. Two agents called my mother and told her they wanted to talk to her about Medicaid. They called and set up a time to talk to her. I keep getting calls from this woman, who uses a different name each time she answers the phone. The first time she called my cell phone and said she was "Regina" from Publishers Sweepstakes and that she got my number from one of my credit cards or banking institutions, which I know due to privacy laws is wrong. She proceeded to tell me that my number was selected as a winner and that they would be sending me a certified letter to the same effect. I purchased a used vehicle Jan 30, 2009. When I bought this I knew there were a few things wrong with it that I would be responsible for like the radio didnt work and the back passenger tail light was broken (which found out $150 to fix a tail light) also the running lights had been busted out. I opened a AE credit card jsut to get a discount right before Christmas. I never received the credit card or statement in the mail. I honeslty forgot about it until I received a phone call from a collection agency stating I was past due on my AE bill. I called AE... they sent a new credit card and bill.. fine but now I have ading on my credit report. Needless to say I am closing the AE card, they no longer deserve my business. I had a similar experience to "earthrover" below. My credit card was promptly charged but no order was shipped. Emails and phone calls were never answered. I was ripped off. I have never had a worse experience with a company. I ordered a Matrox G400 Max via Second Day Air but they shipped an Asus Motherboard via UPS Ground. I contacted them several times via email but they did not respond. I contacted them by phone and arranged for return and refund. Two weeks later I still had not received a refund so I contacted them again by phone and was told they would credit my card immediately. Two weeks later I still had not received anything from them. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and was issued a refund approximately two months after it was requested. I highly recommend you BUY ELSEWHERE. read full review »

We got take out from Panda Express in Apex NC on Thursday ( Feb 5 ). We got fried rice, spring roll and mushroom chicken. Only my 5 year old daughter and I ate that food as soon as we got home at 9 pm. Within 2 hours, both of us were sick, down with severe stomach cramps and vomitting. I am extremely wary of online shopping, and this place has totally made my paranoia justified. I ordered a present for my brother in mid-DECEMBER with a money order. It's now JANUARY 7 and I *still* haven't received my item. I ordered the MMX Universal adapter (CM175-UNIV) from them and did not receive it for more than two weeks. When I contacted them seeking an explanation for the delay, none was offered. The e-mail responses consisted of one line that ignored most of my questions. My multiple requests for a shipment tracking number were ignored as well. Their international order creditcard check sucks. 4 days after ordering I got an email that they charged my card with a small amount and I must tell which amount. The creditcard company gives me ones a month a transaction summary and does not give information by telephone or email, so I must wait 5 weeks. The alternative is to fax them a copy of my pasport or driver licence with the front and back of my creditcard. No way. I am VERY disappointed, considering the other good comments about this company! I ordered a D-link 900AP+ on 9/14/02 that was in stock. On 9/16 they call me to say it is back-ordered until 9/23 and if this was OK, I said yes I would wait a week. I then checked the site and called them on 9/20 and find out the date is really 9/30 and that they had ALREADY charged my credit card for the shipment. This company has amazing customer service. Steve responded immediately to my questions about which CPU steppings were in stock. The software I ordered didn't make any difference w/ my computer. I noticed the day after I ordered it, my bank account had been charged 4 times instead of 1. I called ascentive, who admitted it was their fault, and the refund was complete. I called my bank, who told me they had not recieved authorization for the refund. Then I called ascentive again. After several days of shipping delay the company shipped my order without the city or state entered on the address. Needless to say I never got it. I made several calls to find out where the product was and after about 3 weeks called to cancel the order at which time they told me that they had received it back (about a week ago now) because they forgot the address. They never called or emailed to tell me that they had received it back. The latest position with my Jag is the car is to be towed from Harrogate (breakdown area) to Stratstone (Preston Hall). Stratstone are preparing quotes on my behalf to hand the car over as scrap. The outcome is that I purchased warranty from Stratstone to cover for 100, 000 miles and the car failed at 40, 000. A £13k car purchased 18 months ago is now valued at near zero cost. After reading the good comments about this at other review sites about this company I purchased a Microsoft XP home edition OEM SP2 Operating System. The shipping was very fast almost next day via USPS. I went to install the new OS and there is a problem with the CD, it is defective because it cannot finish the OS install.
