I bought my Maytag Ice2O from Home Depot 16 months ago. I have never before bought an extended warranty but did get one in this case, as because the fridge was so expensive. I am so happy that I did!!!! Yesterday the light panel went crazy and the ice door started flapping incessantly. This is just the latest in the saga of this sad piece of crap. This will be the sixth (I think) service call. During the convection cook cycle the unit went belly up. No reboot. DOA. Prediction: unit will have to come down for repair and only one serviceman will be sent requiring a reschedule which will result in the same thing. On the third visit I will be told I must remove new stove underneath first. This will be difficult for me to take and I will remove the microwave by myself and throw it into the front yard in front of them. Never will purchase appliance from Sears again. I bought a Sears Calypso Washer made by Whirlpool in 2001 and it has been fairly reliable until recently (but we did not use the machine heavily). Last year it started having problems during the cycle, stopping to display the SL and LD lights. I figured some ways around the problem but now it is impossible to make the machine work. I also find that participation in the litigation closed just two months ago! In November 2006, my finance and I purchased a leather couch with a Protection Plan. February 2007, we noticed a tear in the left couch cushion due to a staple that was protruding from the inside of the arm of the couch. In August '06 I bought an Aquaguard Reviva system, after Eureka Forbes convinced me that the ground water can be used for drinking as the RO unit would remove all the salts from the incoming water. After using the unit week, all of our family members experienced severe stomach ache after consuming the "purified" water from the Reviva system. About 5 years ago now, I purchased an entire bedroom set at Gardner-White Furniture in Canton, Michigan. It is a nice looking pine bed with headboard and footboard. The mattress sits on 4-5 wooden slats that run across the frame all the way down the center. At the time of purchase, the salesperson didn't inform us that we would be voiding our warranty if the frame didn't have a center support. Actually, there was never any mention of a center support. A year ago I purchased a new Viking Stove. Top of the line. After a year I used the self clean feature on the oven. The latch would not release after the cycle was completed. I called Viking and was told my warranty had expired. I called the appliance dealer. It was going to cost $400 to repair the self clean. I paid $5600 for this piece of crap. My phone line was cut by my phone company today and there was no response from ADT. I called them and they said it never triggered an alarm. I also pay additionally for ADT to call my cell in the event the phone line is cut. Our system was recently tested after false alarms in the middle of the night and the fire dept also being called. I contracted to have a $20,000 privacy fence and electric iron gate installed September 30,2006. It took Long Fence four months to complete the job. The result was very poor. My closed picket sections have the pickets butt up against the main post on one side of many sections and a large gap of 2-3 inches on the other. Recently my sister had a very bad experience in taking a product from videocon. She had purchased an air conditioner from next electronics shop from Ghaziabad just a couple of days back.
