Apollo Van Lines
Bill March 24, 2009
If you doubt my words, go to the website consumeraffairs.com I did, but only after I hired Apollo Van Lines based upon the "honesty and integrity" of the salesman sent to my home to give me a binding estimate of the move. Well, he wasn't off by 10% or even 20%--it cost me double what he told me it would. And then, they would not deliver my stuff to me until I paid them the whole bill in money order or cash; if I had been allowed to pay by credit card, I could have disputed the bill and refused to pay...but they know this. Every... read full review »

I signed up for a 3 year membership in May08 and told the sales rep that my company was potentially going to change locations and asked him if I would be able to cancel the membership in such an event to which he said yes. Sure enough after only using the gym a handful of times my work situation changed and I have not been able to use the membership since June08. When I have called several times to cancel I was told this was not possible b/c another ballys was less than 20 miles way. I ordered a pound of powdered boric acid. When I received it, I noticed the bottle was smaller than a 12 oz container I had purchased at a pharmacy. So I weighed it on a postal scale and found it only weighed 14 oz including the heavy plastic container. I sent two inquiries by e-mail and received no response after a period of weeks. read full review »

After signing up for what I thought was a newsletter, I was then charged $2.97. No problem. But, I replied to an email that I wanted to cancel and a refund. No reply. Next day I was charged $68.71. I then called their number 888-495-7634. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She hung up on me. I explained I am on SSDI and have limited income and did not expect this charge and now cannot pay my rent. I have a rare spinal disease am on narcotics. They told me that is not their problem that I didn't read the terms and conditions. I asked to speak to a manager - they are all in meetings. No refund. read full review »

Paid Surveys Etc
Jason July 26, 2009
Paid Surveys, Etc. offers an 8 week money back guarantee, but they won't actually refund your money. I signed up for numerous sites they offer and never got a single survey request. They keep telling me to be patient. Oddly enough there is no phone number to call and complain and the site praising them happens to have the same email address as their customer service dept... odd... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! TOTAL SCAM!!! When is someone going to get involved and hold these companies responsible for their "money back guarantee" clause. read full review »

Shaw Laminate Flooring
Jim April 21, 2009
Within a few months, it started to bubble in certain spots as though it was exposed to water. While there had been spots where water came in contact with the floor; drops, water from the dogs' water bowl, those are not the affected areas. We wipe up anything we see on the floor. Up until April there was only one dog in the house but there had been the beginnings of bubbling in two areas. Since then there are two more dogs, both Shih Tzus, very small animals. One, the male, will occasionally pee on a chair leg, table leg or the trash... read full review »

I have been travelling around the world for the last 50 years. Sometimes the service has not been that great, but as reasonable human beings, we must make allowances. Last year my wife and I travelled from Toronto to Dubai and then continued to Tehran Iran. We made the same return journey back. We have never been as disgusted with an airline as we are with Emirates. Their services on the plane and at the airports are so bad that we had to take some action and complain to the Airline. My ex-husband took my daughter to have her wisdom out at the Garrisonville office. My ex and my daughter both told me that an oral surgeon would be taking out her wisdom teeth. My daughter was nervous and scared about the procedure and wanted to be put out. I called her after her procedure and she told me that they gave her novacaine!! I called the office and asked if they had an oral surgeon. The receptionist said they had a doctor that extracts wisdom teeth. I asked that if he was an oral surgeon. Yesterday I returned from to my car after buying a few items at Lowes Hardware. Lease One is not a franchise that you want to spend $19, 900 on as they are not only a scam, but operate a franchise that is not at all what they claim to be. Their claim of being super brokers is a bold face lie. They are not. The only hope is that those who have reported them may slow down the constant flow of $20, 000 checks from unsuspecting people who only find out the truth after Lease One has ruined them. November 12, 2007
To repair a popup leak, I was charged $241.95. This supposed to be a free estimate and yet he took everything apart. And than said it would be $194.95 which I thought was much too much to begin with but I said go ahead and repair it, because everything was taken apart. I guess that's the trick (take everything apart so not to leave it without a pipe on the bottom of the sink)the customer would agree to pay those absorbent prices. Then after he was all finished he hit us with well the labor was $194.95 and it is plus part and tax. That all came to $241.95. DO NOT EVER USE ROTO ROOTER THEY ARE RIPE OFFS read full review »

Beware of the "Made In China" organisation which represents itself as an agent for a large number of manufacturers.
