Similar to MANY others on this site, Last Spring/Summer I applied for a credit card to cover major dental costs. At the time of my application I arranged for them to deduct the monthly payment of approxiamtely $150 from my checking account. When the first bill arrived it indicated that it was deducted. My daughter and I ate at Aberdeen Applebees on December 17, 2007. The meal was good and the service was good. I gave an 18 percent tips. When I got my credit card receipt of my dinner it showed $10.00 more than what I spent, this makes me believe that the waitress gave herself more tips than I put on the check. I went it to American Laser for a free consult from a bridal show. The manager strong armed me into signing despite the fact that I had an acne condition and I was seeing the dermatologist the following week. She gave me $1500 off and said if the doctor said I couldn't have the treatments, she would refund me. They signed me up for Care Credit so they were paid in full. This company attempted to debit our account earlier in December. I called the company and told them that I did NOT authorize this debit and I wanted the money returned to my account. I then called the bank, and informed them of the transaction and no insufficient funds were imposed on us. It is very clear to me based upon my experience with the employees at Paul's Electronics that not only is the product sold from this store of low quality but the employees are running a racket of taking cash, not giving a receipt and later refusing to refund money for the defective merchandise told. In October of 2007 I was not allowed to see my doctor because I did not have my co pay($20.00). I had dual coverage by insurance. I just wanted to write a letter in response to all the complaints I've been reading re: rainsoft here in Louisiana. First of all these complaints are over a year old. This company was recently bought (in Sept. of '07 from what they said) and is now locally owned and operated. This company is also no longer associated with Discovery Marketing. Called them to explain how my job lowered my hours. So I am not making the money I used to get. So I asked for help. They turned me down flat. Novastar called 10 times a day and even had a person show up at our door. Saxon said we don't do deferments and told me to get a second job. I still have kids living with me a FAMILY. Intellius charged me $19.90 to check on a phone number. They say they will do a full background check and provide information concerning that number. The ONLY information I got was a first name, no last name, and a validation that it is a phone line. I already knew it was a phone line and I thought you needed more than only a first name to get a phone number?
