I experienced the same thing with the same company. I joined AC Fitness in Greensboro, NC two years ago also. I chose that gym because it was within walking distance from where I lived. Last year, they went out of business. For months, I was getting charged and had no idea what was going on. They advertise one rate and after you have purchased credit they charge you at a higher rate. They deliberately do not provide statements in order that you do not realize the charge rate. They make many promises that they do not keep. Even more worse news – their sales team pester you on a very regular basis to purchase more credit. Take note you will be disturbed at all times even if you have a large credit balance. I ended up paying £100 worth of credit which was charged at 3 times the rate they advertised (I was sucked into £100 when I only wanted to try them out with £10). On two occasions on January 6, 2009 I ask the CVS Representative who contacted me for the contracted cost of the drug. On two occasions the representative would not disclose this information, ether because she chose not to, or for some reason did not have this information. In December of 2006 I purchased four tires for my 16 year old daughters car. I also had the front end aligned. At that time I purchased the road hazard insurance. My total bill was over $700.00. In November '08 my family purchased a "tiny teacup poodle" from Velvet Touch Kennels. When we talked with the breeder, Janet Bordelon, she explained to us that the smaller the poodle was at maturity, the more expensive the purchase price would be. On December 12th of 2008, I bought a used 2006 Toyota Camry SE off the Internet from Gene Gormans Auto Dealership . I contacted the dealer and asked what condition the vehicle was in. We too fell for the scam! We went through tough times after i was going through a rough pregnancy w/ twins - we had fetal surgery at 18 weeks and then bed rest in the hospital until they were delivered at 28 weeks - one passed at 4 days old. the other remained in the NICU for 9 weeks. I purchased and downloaded this software, (Pinnacle Studio V12.1 Ultimate) which would not install. I spent hours on the phone with tech support, to no avail. Finally, I purchased the DVD disk of the software, which was shipped, and installed properly. Today, Digitalriver sent me an e-mail, advising me that the download was defective, and instructing me to re-download the original purchase. Since by now I had received the DVD disk that I purchased, I had no need to re-download the original software. I requested the Digitalriver refund the original download price, and they refused. I was offered a deal to get FIO inertnet service from Verizon in September 2008 when I tried to cancel my DSL service from them. The guy over the phone told me that there was no activation fee, no contract to sign up. I would only need to pay $42.99/mo and receive $25/mo discount from my local phone bill. After visiting the compositeeffects website ( also known as cfx masks ) I was impressed with the pictures of their masks and the quality of the paint jobs. These masks are quite expensive compared to regular latex masks, but I really wanted to get something top notch. We had our dog at Puppy Pals for a week while we were out of the country. We purchased full-house carpet from a reputable, well-known carpet company in Auburn California last year. We purchased it on a 90 days same as cash basis. Yatra.com is a Fraud/Scam site which takes your money but never refunds money for airline canceled flight, and there customer service runs on the golden rule of frustrating the customer and forcing them to go away. I went from a fixed 9.9% to a 15% jump because they said there was a letter of new terms in my February statement that i had too sign to keep my existing terms. There was no letter in my statement people. Now that i did not sign the form, they reviewed my Acct. and reviewed my credit report and they could not give me a real reason why they did this.
