I'm thinking about giving some home construction jobs to the VIRTUS-FIDUS-PROBO (VFP) company located in the state of Illinois. My boiler broke down and we had no hot water or central heating, in the very cold weather out. So I called Aspect Maintenance as they were the only Company who were available to come out at short notice. The sales person at Home Depot offered me several packages to choose from and I selected the higher priced package because it came with a 'Lifetime Peace of Mind' guarantee. Installed BP Mystique shingles in 2006. Have been replacing them after every storm. Usually one or two bundles blow off after every storm. Of course the roof leaks during the storm until I could replace the shingles. After consulting with BP they agreed that they would pay to "glue" the shingles down as that is what their warranty covers. This company unilaterally doubles home insurance coverage in error and then refuses to provide a credit for the amount of the overcharge even after they admit to overbilling. It seems unbelievable they could just unilaterally increase a premium by so much without a specific notification of the change but they say it is mentioned in their 8 page policy renewal sent out once a year. I discovered the sewer pipe was filled with construction trash that caused the down stairs toilet to over flow and flood the living-room. Two walls were over 3" off plumb and should have failed inspection noticed after we started painting the 1 color house. I purchased an LG washer from Leon's with an extended warranty. It broke last Thursday. I called them and was told we lived in a "remote" area of Canada. Sigh. I saw these posts and I felt someone should speak for the accused. I have been a contractor for Assured Asset Preservation for almost three years (even when they were Sole Stones). They have treated me with complete respect the entire time. Sure i have been cut on invoices but, that is my fault for not following thier requirements. It's pretty sad when you see other contractors post derogatory statements and are obviously not working with them for a reason. I was quoted $450 from the person who originally came to estimate or drainage problem. Yes he came as promised within an hour. Then a technician came couple hours latter and quoted $550 because of possible water trap.
