Yahoo! Mail Reviews

Beware
The email that arrives in you inbox looks very official. It carries the familiar Yahoo! Mail logo and has a heading that warns, "Your Account Will Be Blocked."
If you're one of the millions of people who have a Yahoo! Mail account, you might be inclined to take the message seriously.
"Due to the congestion in all Yahoo! users accounts, Yahoo! would be shutting down all unused accounts, " the message warns. "In order to avoid the deactivation of your account, you will have to confirm your e-mail by filling out your Login info below."
The message then asks for the user name, password, date of birth and country of residence. The request for such sensitive information, along with the not-quite-right grammar, is a tip off the very real-looking document is a fake.
"You should assume that any unsolicited message asking for your Yahoo! ID and password, security key, or other sensitive information is part of a scam to gain unauthorized access to your account, " Yahoo! security told ConsumerAffairs.com in an email.
If you have already entered your information into a suspicious message, Yahoo! Security advises users to immediately change their password and update any other information you provided.
If you find that you are no longer able to access your Yahoo! Mail account, contact Yahoo! Security and select the link "I gave my password to someone and am now unable to access my account."
If scammers gain access to your mail account, they also gain access to sensitive emails that you may be keeping. By hijacking your account, they can also use it to send out millions of spam email messages.

Can't delete my account
I can't delete my account. The only thing I have use for it is my inbox mail messages so what is the point of having a yahoo acount with limited restricted access to my inbox mail messages.

deletion of inbox mail and deactivation of account
Yahoo! Mail has deactivated my account and deleted all of my mail. I can't come into contact with my "some old friends". I was suprized and angry once I found out that Yahoo! Mail deleted my mail and deactivaed my account. They said that it was because I haven't logged into my account for more than four months. And that they said that none of this mail can be recovered. And that also they have no contact information.

Broken and no timel resolution
I have had a personal domain with Yahoo for over 4 years for email and until today with no problems. For some reason it became flaky this morning and has basically stopped working. Four "chats" with support have yielded nothing other than to refer me to their "blog" which has nothing (other than some marketing drivel) about this problem. I suppose that some would be glad to have no problems with such a service for so many years when you stop getting possibly critical messages. I sure hope their new CEO hears about this. If they don't want me as a (small) customer say so and I'll find another provider.

I was looking for a place to moan and found this site (thanks for having it ) so go for it guys...spread this around...I would do more if I only knew where to do it.

I have not been able to access my mail account (yahoo-id : [email protected] ) on mail.yahoo.com for the last three days.
When I login on the yahoo page I can see that I have new mail but I cannot access the mail sign-in page neither from yahoo.com nor from mail.yahoo.com nor ny other link. I only get an internet explorer error message indicating it cannot display the page..

I will be gratefull for an urgent solution. Many thanks in advance.

Sincerely yours,

ismail donmez
