Billing fraud
Same story, another rip off. I bought a H-2 Hummer and got the 3 months of trial service. I opted not to continue the service as I don't care for all the advertising that has been growing on XM Radio. A few months later, my wife spots a 364.00 charge on our Debit Card for XM radio. I called the following day to get the total runaround after well over an hour of switching me back and fourth to people. I asked for a supervisor and got put on hold for well over 30 min. Explained the situation again. and was told to expect a refund in 72 hours... a week later, no refund and I call again and wait once again to talk to customer service "which had no info on file for my refund" same story... 72 hours and still no refund. I went to my local bank to dispute the charge, the charge was removed from my card but at the cost of having to hot card my account for fradulent charges. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN! THIS IS UNFAIR and UNETHICAL. AND THE FCC LETS THEM GET AWAY WITH IT!!!

Frustration with trying to cancel
We have xm radio for our home and I wanted to get a secondary receiver for my shop, located next to home. I was told I could have a secondary receiver for $9.99 a month. When it arrived, I found that no matter where I placed the receiver in my shop, I could not get a signal. So, I call to cancel it. I was hung up on THREE times!!! Finally got someone, who told me that I would have to pay a $100.00 cancellation fee!! I said, "So, if I keep it, I will be paying $9.99/mo for no signal service, or I pay $100 cancellation fee???" YES! I was sa angry that I decided to cancel my entire account. I will be charged $100.00, which is such a complete rip off, but I have no other option. That have you and they know it and they completely rip their customers off. I have not received my credit card bill, but after reading many of these complaints, I am worried I might have other charges from them! What can a person do in this situation, as so many others are in?? How can XM Radio get away with this?

harrassing phone calls
I purchased a new car in which XM was offered for 90 days. I wish I'd had it yanked out of my car. Once the free 90 day sample was over, they called me almost daily. My phone rang in the morning and woke us up day after day. It rang and interrupted other phone calls and activities. I won't ever purchase this service because I do not want the harrassment when and if I have to cancel.

Be wise, don't ever let them have your phone number.

cancellation policy no refund
I cancelled my XM Radio Subscription because we don't use the service, in fact we have misplaced our receiver in one of our frequent moves. We pay for our service quarterly with a credit card. I was paid up through Sept 11, 2008 and I cancelled the service June 17, 2008, so I had just prepaid the 3 months.

XM radio would not refund the prepayment, or even a portion of it. The only option I had was to extend another 3 months thru December 2008 for "free". When our travel settles down, I might have considered renewing the service, but if you don't refund with a smile, no amount of advertising will get the customer back. They may have my 3 months payment, but they will never have me as a customer again.

After reading the other posts, I will also very carefully watch my credit card statement to make sure I am not charged for 3 months again.

Advertizing on Bloomberge radio
I listen to your Bloomberg radio on my XM Radio for very good financial news coverage. My compaint is with your advertising announcers, during an ad will say websites with WWW.Whomever. DOT CUM instead of DOT COM. This is disturbing because it is so obvious that they are perverting it on purpose. I hope someone would get on this and stop this filthy so called subliminal advertizing.

Terrible experience!
I've been a customer with xm radio for my vehicle service since 2002 and recently added a xm home device in December of 2007. And when signing up for the home service they mentioned every good thing about having xm in my home but never told me or have me sign any agreement that dictated if i canceled the home service there would be a $65.00 charge which in itself is ridiculous because I bought all home devices with my own money and xm did not provide me with any free equipments.

When I try to explain to them about my grievance and requested for a manager in the cancellation department (located in India of course) I was shuffled around and put on hold one too many times and finally when someone came on the phone who claimed to be the manager, as I was speaking and complaining to her, the phone simply when silent and after approx 5 minutes of silence I hang up. All this happened on april 12, 2008 approx 1800 pacific standard time.

I hope someone can let me know which government department regulates xm radio if there is one such as the FCC for radio stations. I need to file a complain with the government for I'm sure there are many other customers out there who share the same grievance as me and with xm almost being a monopoly there needs to be some sort of supervisory role from the feds.

Credit Card Abuse
If you provide credit card information to XM Radio, you are opening yourself for unprecedented abuse by them. If you sign up for a 3 month subscription, they will "automatically" renew it without your consent, then if you cancel, they will tag you with a $100 "early" termination fee. Order a "portable" XM Radio receiver, and what they will send you is a unit that only works in a home or car BUT not anywhere in between. XM Radio will send you a "friendly reminder" that they are going to renew it "automatically" in March but charge your credit card a month earlier. (so that if you decide that you did not really want to renew, you will get hit with "early termination").
If you call their customer service in order to cancel service, they will keep you on hold for 20 minutes, then hang up on you, forcing you to either call back (with another 20 minute wait) or simply give up and keep their credit card charges coming.)
Folks, this simply isn't worth it... buy 12 CD's per year, swap with your friends and call it a day.
Their "commercial free" programming still has commercials and you miss out on your local fun stuff on regular AM-FM

XM commits fraud!
Over the Christmas holidays I had to call XM to switch out a radio id. I lost a radio, bought another, and just switched the id’s. The operator asked me if I would be interested in purchasing their “special” deal on Sportcasters, which included 3-month service. I told her “NO WAY! I have to many radios as it is.” This operator decided that she would bump up her Christmas bonus and sent me 4 RADIOS!!! Then FRAUDULENTLY charged my credit card for all 4!! I called XM and told them the situation. They told me I shouldn’t have signed for the radios. I explained to them that they were left on my doorstep and signing wasn’t an option. After hours of phone calls and being hung up on numerous times. I was finally told to send them back for a refund. UPS picked them up from my house and sent them back to the shop. Think my nightmare is over... not so fast!!! The shop not only didn’t refund me for the 4 radios. They sent me 4 new radios to replace them!!! And yes they added them to my account so I had to go through the process all over again of getting them removed!!! I was actually told that this time they would have to charge me a deactivation fee for the radios I didn’t order. Yes a supervisor also told me that. I called back and talked to another supervisor who was apologetic and told me that he would make sure I was issued a refund. No I am not holding my breath. And no I still haven’t got it. Oh and Shop XM still hasn’t sent UPS to pick up the four new radios from my house. I am considering lawsuit action and pushing a criminal investigation into XM. They fraudulently charged my credit card unauthorized and will not take it off!!
