Disrespected due to not agreeing to purchase more points
On December 10, 2010, my husband and I stayed at the Wyndham Skyline Tower’s in Atlantic City, NJ using our RCI points and unfortunately was insulted and disrespected by Connie Mong, a Wyndham Sales Representative.
The next day came and our appointment was at 12:30, we arrived early because we wanted to start our day off. The meeting was going well although my husband stressed to the RCI representative (I forgot her name) of our financial situation. I’m sure because I continued asking question the representative thought it was necessary to get a sales manager to further convince us to purchase additional points; therefore, she went to get Ms. Mong. The area we were in was very small, it had a round table with 3 chairs (no room to move around)… When Ms. Mong came in the area she stood up because of the space. The rep. introduced, Ms. Mong and she went right in to her sale pitch….. My husband politely explained to Ms. Mong the same thing he explained to the representative pertaining to our financial situation. Ms. Mong over talked my husband and proceeded talking. After about 5-10 minutes into the presentation, my husband said, “we are not purchasing anything”…Ms. Mong said “anything”.. he said, “not one dime!”..Ms. Mong abruptly said, “well why did you called me over here then?’ My husband informed her that we did not call her…. out of now where Ms. Mong said, Oh..Did anyone start their happy hour early…? …looking at us….we looked at her….she repeated herself… she was so loud the clients in the area turned around looking at us. I looked at the representative in surprise, and said where did this come from? The Wyndham rep. that had been talking with us, looked in disbelief that Ms. Mong said something like that. Ms. Mong continued…she said “it’s O.K., if you started your happy hour early you are on vacation… then she repeated it again “O.k., who started their happy hour early….O.k., if you started your happy hour early we can’t talk to you, its against our contract….. I told her “I was insulted now… you are being disrespectful and I did not appreciate it”, (I said this in a low voice trying not to draw more attention to our area). She went on for about 15min., being loud and rude as if she was putting on a show, it was very insulting and disrespectful. We informed the checkout person of our complaint. The next day I spoke with Mr. Holder pertaining to our experience and told him we’ve never been so embarrassed and disrespected. Mr. Holder told us that this did not sound like her and he would talk with her.
We did not feel comfortable staying; therefore, we left early.
The lack of concern in providing quality service to my husband and I was appalling; her approach was unjust and unwarranted. This was the first time we’ve experienced this embarrassing situation from any of your Sales representative and hope this will be the last.
