FRAUDULENT TRADING
Vonage fradulently induces customers to subscribe by offering a 30 day money back cancellation guarantee, which they do not honor.
I cancelled my Vonage service a few days after receiving the equipment, well within the 30 day period. Vonage refused to honor their advertised inducement, agreeing that although I had contacted them in time, it took them a further 11 days to process my request, which brought it to 1 day outside the 30 day period. They have fraudulently withdrawn substantial sums against my credit card.
Vonage is clearly operating a scam, which I am bringing to the attention of the office of the Attorney General for New Jersey. day money bacvk cancellation guar

Scam and cheating
I have had to deal with Vonage Customer Service Reps 4 different times to try and resolve my $50 unlimited calling business line(s) charges. These reps blatantly lie to you! Every one of them has and then tells me that the previous rep's statements were not valid and what I am currently paying is 'what I signed up for.'
I am now paying overage charges on my unlimited calling plan due to one of the reps signing me up for it. According to them, I was told that I would now be charged overage charges and I must have agreed to them. NOT! Why would I call 4 straight month's in a row trying to straighten out my 'unlimited calling for $50.00 per month!'
Now that I am canceling, they are charging me cancellation charges on 4 lines, not the 2 that I am paying (2 were supposed to be free 'virtual' lines. How can they get away with this? Also, when you call technical support to get your phone lines to actually work, you are connected to a representative that can not speak or understand english and will not transfer you to someone who can! I have dealt with this issue 4 times as well.
I would love to be involved in a Class Action Lawsuit... where do I sign up!

Unauthorized charges
I too ordered the diet pills from an ad in the mail for Litrex Grapefruit Rind pills. I sent them a check and they cashed it. I'm embarrassed! How dare these people take my hard earned money.

Bad service
Vonage Sales department said Vonage Phone Service and Clearwire Internet Service were compatible. I found out the hard way they were not. The phone system kept rebooting and disconnecting me. I disconnected my service and Vonage charged well over $100 for stopping service. They also overdrafted my checking account by processing my American Express card change of information a day after the charge went through. The sales, customer service and equipment are below acceptable standards and I recommend avoiding Vonage Phone System completely if you are on Clearwire Internet Service. Clearwire is not responsible for anything but the internet connection to your computer not additional services like Vonage. BEWARE. Don't get trapped like I did.

Poor service and unfair to customers
Vonage is thoroughly unfair to canceling customers charging you for everything under the sun. It cost me $400 to cancel two lines with the two routers. PLEASE HEAR ME CAREFULLY--- DO NOT EVER OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH VONAGE. If you are not pleased with their service ----- YOU WILL PAY FOR THEIR INEPTITUDE AND POOR SERVICE!

Charged for unrequested account.
I opened a Vonage account (1006223869) in December 2007. I cancelled the account as of Dec. 11, 2007 and received confirmation from Vonage that the account was deactivated. I recently learned that, without my knowledge, Vonage had opened a second account at the same time (1006231745.) I have been charged monthly fees for that account with no notification or bills sent to me for a whole year. When I called to complain, I had to pay to have this second, unrequested account, deactivated. I was also told I was not entitled to a refund of the year's fees because I did not formally request them to deactivate the account. Of course I did not request it because I never knew I had that account. Is there anything that I can do to recoup that money? It was their error in opening a second account and they should have informed me of it when I cancelled the account I knew about. Thanks. Terry Karcich

disconnect charge
CLOSED OUT MID AUG.08. COX INSTALLED 8-26-08, STARTED calling immediately. Got Visa charges, for Oct 08 bill, stating charges. Called and found out disconnect charge.
when was that charge updated at their website?
my birthday, 8-13-08. section 8.7 at their website.
One would need a lawyer to go thru the rest of their entries.
Gen said when I signed up, i was told. Maybe??I asked for a copy. i looked in my file case where i put everything for taxes, only the email from friend where to purchase said connection box. so be aware of future charges on your credit card. i suggest you record conversation.

bad service and wrong charges
I had vonage phone service for a month. I had to cancel the service because there were several times the phone service did not work. I did not know they charge on my credit card automatially. According to Vonage, I owe them charges of disconnection fee and eqipment recovery fee because I went over a month free period. I had used vonage phone service from Feb 21, 2008 to March 18, 2008. But I was heard that my vonage account started from the day I called and signed on the plan, which was Feb 11, 2008. I had to have a modam to use the phone service. I believe I got the modam on Feb 20 or 21.
1. I did not know they automatically charge on my credit card
2. I didnot know there was disconnection fee.
3. I did not know they charge the service before I set the phone line in my house.
4. Is it legal to use other company's internet to use phone service?

Bad service
After switching to a cheaper plan where the rep said there was no charges for switching plan, I was double billed for the same month. When called to rectify the matter, the rep said the 2nd charge was for switching plans. Being fed up, they screwed up my billing 3 previous times before, I asked to terminate the service. And was transferred to waiting music that has continued to play for over a full hour. They don't like to pick up the phone when you want to terminate service! How can I terminate vonage out of my life? Their rep are liars! There are many other instances of lies they are told, I don't blame the rep, its the company that trains them to lie!
