Upload problems;no help
I placed an order for 3 certified copies of birth certificate.Could not upload Identity Verification Form, received Server Error each time. Could not contact anyone at company through e-mail or phone. Have sent numerous e-mails since problem began, but only response is automated that my question was received. Phone lines swamped with calls from five minutes after office hours;I am always told to call back later.This company is the only way to obtain the copies I need in the time frame I need them, but I am ready to give up.This situation is ridiculous.

Waste of Time and Money
While touting that they will fulfill genealogy requests, it isn't until AFTER you've placed the order that they will tell you you need to provide a birth certificate for every single generation to prove your relationship to the individual on the requested record. They will charge you for the privilege of doing so. They will send you numerous emails requesting required documents - in my case 6 - that I uploaded and faxed 4 times. I did speak to someone online who told me my request could not be processed if I did not proved the 5 birth certificates proving relationship. As I could not, my order was cancelled, but I was still charged 11.95. And then I received ANOTHER email requesting more documentation. I'm glad that some people have had success with vitalchek, but I strongly recommend against doing business with them. Especially for genealogy requests, deal directly with the state or town. Save yourself time, money, and aggravation.

Fraud
I ordered Birth Certificates for my children and they said I should receive them within 3-5 days and it's been 10 and I can't get a response because every time you call they say they are experiencing high delays and your wait can be over 30 minutes. They also encourage you to call back at a later time. I have held on 3 different occassions for over 40 minutes and no one ever answers the phone. This is awful customer service and a total ripoff. I should have reviewed all of the complaints about them online before ordering from them.

no birth record
I tried to get a copy of a birth record for a friend that didnt have access to a computer so that her son could start school that asked for a photo copy of her id which we sent but we still have not recived the record and there is no way to speak to anyone from vitalchek. There is not a way to cancel the order.

Scam
Ordered a birth certificate for my mother. Provided her maiden name of course. The payment was through her credit card, which is under her married name. Unfortunately this company processed her order under her married name so of course there is no birth record for that name. They said the info was entered with her married name which is so untrue. Any excuse to keep your $ and not provide the product. I will be in the process of finding a way to receive a refund. Also don't try calling their customer service #. You will be on hold forever.

No Customer Service
I ordered a birth certificate for my mother. I paid $51.95, and it arrived 2 days later but her first name and middle name were misspelled. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of them. I have sat for hours on the phone waiting to get through to customer service. I have emailed them many times and they do not respond. I am frantic to get a passport but they have no customer service department. I was ripped off for $51.95.

Bad service
So I called the hospital I was born at and asked them to get a copy of my birth certificate. First of all I need the certificate because I just got married and the state I live in will not let me change my drivers license or social security card or anything without the birth certificate.
Anyways, they tell me to go to this website and just fill out the identity verification stuff and then they would process the payment and be done with it.
Well, I put in all the information and it said my identity could not be verified. Here's the beginning of a 2 week nightmare with these people.
They have me fax in an enlarged lightened copy of my driver's license along with a signature (maiden name). A few days go by and I decide to call them and they say that the information is unacceptable because I signed it with my maiden name... Then the other problem is 'the signature does not look like a signature - it looks like a printed name'... um my bad for writing neatly? So after faxing the information with a different signature they deem it unacceptable because it doesn't look like the signature on my driver's license... well that was 5 years ago when I got this license!! So the lady tells me to fax a blank piece of paper with just a signature on it and after faxing AGAIN they tell me that it is unacceptable because there was no drivers license associated with the signature... and THEN they send me an email saying QUOTE: 'your account is currently on hold as we are needing you to confirm the mother's maiden name' and then when I called to give them the information, the lady argued with me saying that the email did not say that!!! REALLY???!?!?!? so then I call and speak with the manager and she tells me that she's looking at the account and EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT AND SHE CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE ACCOUNT..

Took my money
I went online to order my birth certificate, vitalchek took my money, I faxed the ID requested with the signed documents, and recieved my confirmation, , , several days later.I went online to check my status they sent me a email indicating that my order was cancelled for none reciept of my ID. How could this agency just take your money.I sent them an email back letting them know that I had proof they recievec my faxes, and I WANTED my order processed, still waiting on a response. We can't trust noone now a days.Want to resolve issue.
