Disconnects in back yard
Besides our main land line listed above (212-688-3770) We have 2 lines devoted to Fire Alarm Pull stations in our school.
Several calls to Verizon Repair have resulted in our discovery that the continuing disconnects and crackles on all our lines
come from the small metal box in the back yard which looks like a birds nest of hundreds of in use and out of use wires that look old
and peeling. The Repair gentlemen who have come to our aid from Verizon tell us there is nothing they can do since
Verizon won't allow them to do much repair on these boxes. The Central Fire Station has called us 10 times this past 5 months
to report lack of direct fire reporting line. New York Fire Alarm keeps telling us to call Verizon. This is a school. We are paying for
Fire Protection for our students & building.
Please please send someone who has some authority to fix these lines. In addition our regular lines crackle and are
not clear.

Misrepresentation of Bundle Plan/Very Poor Customer Service
I contracted for the verizon bundle plan/TV/Internet/Phone @ $99.00 per month. Yeah right! Our phone bill was ALWAYS over $150.00 and many times a lot more than that. Never ever is your bill 99, 00 with reasonable taxes of about 13.00 as I was promised.
So...December 28, 2008 I called Verizon and wanted to transfer our home phone to another company. I went through the necessary steps and it was established it would be transferred and we would keep our same number. Come January, there were severe problems with Verizon and Vonage getting the phone transferred correctly. I went through the process about 4 times and was given ticket numbers that everything was fine and dandy. OK...I didn't have any home service from either company for my home phone for January or February. I was told how very sorry Verizon was for the inconvenience and I supposedly received a credit. I have been paying Direct TV directly. Today, our internet service was interrupted. The notice says it would be interrupted on 2 /27 it was interrupted on 2/26. I talked to 4 representative just this afternoon telling my situation over and being transferred and transferred.
I was told I cannot do anything about it until someone in the (interrupted service) department is in on Tuesday. So no internet service...and that effects our phone service.
Oh by the way, I underwent a major surgery in early February and immediately had to deal with this Verizon nightmare.
How can this happen and how is it fair and why can I not receive due compensation.

Lack of customer response
A truck pulled down a Verizon phone line, because the line was too low. I lost pone, power and cable. When it was repaired and the phone service began again, a surged passed into the line and fried the modem in my TiVo, effectively disabling it and nullifying my lifetime service plan. To discuss the problem with Verizon, I called daily and was just passed from person to person. I left multiple messages with the District Manager; he never called back. The Claims phone number they gave me was disconnected. I wrote a letter to Corporate Headquarters but have received no response. You would think a PHONE company would be willing and able to communicate with their customers!

Poor Customer Service
For the second time in two months, our phone has went out of order and it has taken them entirely to long to come and even fix it! The most recent time our phone went out the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and as of June 3rd, 2008 it still hasnt been repaired. When I called the women said that they would have a technician come out June 13th, and after a somewhat heated exchange she was kind enough to move it up to June 10th which is completley unexceptable!! What kind of birdbrains is runing this operation? As soon as I can get AT&T or any other phone service provider to hook up a phone line, you know what you can do with your service? Or more appropriatly you lack of service! Thank you for nothing ... You can write me a letter since you are unable to call me because clearly our phone is unworking again! Surprise Surprise. My case number with public service agaisnt Verizon is 4528. Thank you and have a wonderful day!!!

Poor customer service!
It took me 3 days to disconnect service from my Washington, DC apartment, after long periods on hold. My main complaint is that twice I reached a live person, who as soon as I said it was a disconnect without a transfer of service, transferred me back into hold. Finally I did get a responsive person, but of course, I had learned by that time to insist that I not be transferred. Do the customer service staff receive commission for selling new/additional services? That could account for them not wanting to deal with a disconnect, if they are immoral and irresponsible. If there is a class action suit about Verizon's insulting customer service, please let me know.

Billing problems
For years we have had our phone service with Verizon. Two days ago we received the message on our home phone that we had requested to have our phone service disconnected. We just paid our bill, which included service for the phone, internet, and TV. We still have internet and TV cable service, but not phone. We need the phone for the doctor. We called Verizon Customer Service and they said they cannot help us. They said the phone number is listed under someone else's name and address, plus we had contracted service with Cordia Communications on 4/14/07. We did not! We just paid our Verizon statement for May Service and June Service.
Can anyone out there give us a phone number for Cordia Communications and how to resolve this problem because Verizon cannot and neither can MCI who had contracted out Verizon business?

Customer harassment
My name is Kimberly Vine and I'm a victim of a major corporation who monopolizes the market. My problem started January 1, 2007 when Verizon started pushing their customers to switch over to the new optical wire. I opted not to because my phone has been working just fine for the 6 years living here. Since I opted not to switch for a fee then my phone has not worked consistently since January 1, 2007. I've reported the problem at least 25 times, spoken to Supervisors, techs, foremen, sales, etc... And all gave me the same answer. "Ms. Vine if you switch to the new optical wire then we guarantee that your phone will work otherwise they could not help me!" I've been hearing this for the past several months. I now have a wonderful tech out right now and he is telling me that Verizon is telling their employees to sell the optical wire to every customer and try to get their Internet and cable service as well!! This tech also told me that my problem can be easily fixed within the centralized verizon location but verizon will not because their goal is to have everyone switched by the end of 2007 and have their cable and Internet service as well. Now if Verizon wanted to switch everyone to this optical wire for no fee then I would do it but I'm not going to be another victim. Most of my neighbors are elderly and have so many problems with the new wire and they are so upset but do not have the energy to fight this big company!! So I'm it and hope fully with you on my side as well then we can concur this harassment together! Someone please please help us! Thank you!!!
