Monthly 6 cent "inflation fee" added to my bill every month
I signed up for Verizon Phone Services about a year ago. I was with Cavalier before. Verizon offered to give me the same rate as Cavalier, but I didn't get anything in writing--just a phone quote by customer service.

Each month since then, Verizon adds a 6 cent "inflation fee" to my bill. My bill has increased at least two dollars in the past year. I called Verizon to inquire what an "inflation fee" was and how long it would go on. The girl I spoke with put me on hold for quite a while, and then reported that after talking to her supervisor, the "inflation fee" was just something they could add on to my bill. They said there was no time period it would go on. I pointed out that we agreed to a rate of about $22.00 a month without long distance and for one extra service. They said that they could raise their prices each month if they wanted to.

Has anyone else had this experience of them increasing the price every month for no real reason? Are they allowed to do this?

Poor service!
Verizon have disconnected my Internet without informing me. I was paying bill on time every month and they still disconnect my service on Thursday 13th, 2007 around 5AM and Still up till now they have not resolved it. and it's 10:35am on Monday Sept, 17th, 2007.

My Business + my Phone are both down causing me loosing business for past 5 days. I think if you do care about your business then do get alternative solution who care about your business and not these irresponsible service provider - VERIZON. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEN... THEY SUCK BIG TIME!

- I have called 10 times already but they told me friday around 4:45pm that there business department is close they can't help! EXCUSE ME ! THIS IS FREAKING BUSINESS LINE AND IT SHOULD BE UP ALL THE TIME ! SO THE REP HANGUP PHONE ON ME WITH OUT HELPING ME OUT...

I CALLED AGAIN ON SAT TO SEE IF SOMEONE WILL HELP ..BUT THEY UPGRADED MY TICKET AFTER WAITING FOR 2 HRS ON PHONE... AND REP TOLD ME THAT THE NETWORK ENGINEER DOESN'T WORK OVER THE WEEKENDS SO... I HE CAN'T HELP ME OR TROUBLE SHOOT THIS... FURTHER. I THINK THEY SHOULD PAY FOR ALL MY BUSINESS LOSS AND FRUSTRATION AND DEPRESSION THEY CAUSED ME ! I AM VERY UPSET WITH THERE SERVICE...

EVEN IF THEY GIVE ME SOME DIAL UP THAT TIME I WAS ABLE TO DO SOME TEMP WORK OVER THESE PAST DAYS... VERIZON DIDN'T HELPED ME AT ALL AND AS PRETENDED THAT THEY DON' T CARE ABOUT THERE CUSTOMER...

SO MY BEST ADVICE IS 'GET OUT FROM THERE TRAP' BEFORE YOU SUFFER LIKE ME! AND LOOSE YOUR BUSINESS...

Cancellation fee
I purchased a High Speed Plan for $14.95 a month for my at home Mac. I tried to install it myself and then with Verizons tech support. The DSL could not be installed because it failed to be activated. It could not be activated. After several attempts at this, I canceled the service and called Verizon. They canceled the service and said there would be no charge to me for the whole thing and were sorry it didn't work out. I sent the product back to them. I received an early termination fee of $85.00 on my credit card bill. I called Verizon about this and they refused to remove that fee even though it was never activated. This is outrageous and I should not have to pay for something that didn't work on my computer and was actually never used. They said it was past the 30 day trial.

ER solutions and termination charges!
Verizon and its abusive collection arm ER Solutions continues to destroy people's credit with their unethical and what is probably illegal "early termination" charges. Someone in our state and federal government needs to do something about these abusive corporations and their very nasty unethical collection agencies and STOP THEM NOW. Charging hundreds of dollars to terminate a TELEPHONE contract is amoral.

I keep getting bills from Verizon collection agencies
I just got another bill collection from a company saying i owe 326.11. I get one like every year and I have not used verizon since 2001 for a cell phone. And i remember on the contract I signed it said I would only pay for quiting contract. These bills are haters and they ruin my summer every year. This time they disguised it like I was getting a check from a settlement. The bill is a 714 area code and I left that area in 2000 and kept tabs on my bill because the real phone company, whoever it is, gets all of the information before you get away.

They are charing a 15 year old a bill of 1122.54 for a phone when she was 10 years old.

Incorrect billing and credit reporting!
Verizon DSL had billed me for a charge beyond my service cancellation date. I called customer service who agreed to reverse the charges on my Verizon bill. Further to that I did not pay the extra charges that were supposed to be reversed.

Now I had canceled my service in March 2007 but to this date the credit amount has not been applied by Verizon. On repeated calls to customer service, I am only told that the credit amount will be applied in 1-2 billing cycles. Its has now been over 2 billing cycled but the outstanding amount still continues to show against my name.

To top it all Verizon has shamefully added this as a collection item against my credit file. I was shocked when my credit score fell by over a 100 points due to this.

I again called Verizon only to be told that they are in the process of applying the credit amount and will be done in about 1-2 billing cycles. Even though it is established as a fact that I do not have to pay any amount to Verizon, they have refused to remove the collection item from my credit file until the balance on their bill shows zero.

I have even talked to the customer service supervisors who have shown absolutely no interest and initiative in prioritizing this issue and bring it to closure and are extremely content in saying that 'we have taken up the matter and will be completed in 1-2 billing cycles'. I would rather go without a phone and Internet connection than subscribe from Verizon ever.

Poor service!
In February of 2007, I downloaded Windows Live Messanger, and was given the choice of buying web calling service through Verizon. I bought 25.00 worth of minutes and was given an account number. All was working fine, until my computer crashed and I had to reload my OS. After downloading Windows Live Messanger agian, I found that the program did not recognize my Verizon account number. i have been on the phone with both Verizon and Microsoft multiple times, as well as had numerous technical service "cases" with both companies, non of which have solved the problem. What is worse, no one that I have spoken to at Verizon even knows anything abouit the web calling service. I even tried to sign up anew for the service, but cannot do that because Verizon no longer accepts VISA/Mastercard. If anyone else has had similar problems, please respond by e-mail to Angie's list. I would love to initiate a class-action suit at this point.

They double billed me and won't correct it!
A few months ago, while on the phone with Verizon I was asked to enroll in One-Bill to combine my land line and cell phone on one bill. I said OK. I had recently just paid my current cell bill, but when the One-Bill started, I was charged again for the cell phone. The amount is $110. I disputed the mistake and for 3 months I was told I wouldn't have to pay it and to ignore it (it kept appearing on my bill anyway). So finally this month I get my Verizon bill and guess what, they charged me for the $110 they said they wouldn't (my account is auto-billed, so it is now in their pocket). So not only did they screw up and charge me twice, they can't seem to understand what the issue is and why I am so furious. Now they said it will take another 6-8 weeks for them to look into it again. OMG, Verizon has the WORST customer service of any major company. After sitting on hold for 20 minutes, you end up talking to 2-3 people until you realize none of them have a clue what is going on. And they aren't even open beyond the normal Monday to Friday 8-6 hours. No nights or weekend hours for Verizon's precious billing department.

So here's a lesson. If Verizon can screw up, they will! And good luck trying to get it resolved. I'll be amazed if I ever see my $110 again.
