I just took out home service with Verizon. They sold me a piece of equipment that was needed to use there service. There sevice didn't work (i'm not in the covergae area but they turn around and charged me a restocking fee of $35.00 for a piece of equipment that I can't use and therefore have no choice but return. If the equipment isnt' returned they will not cancel the service. So Verizon is scamming the senior citizens. selling a service that doesn't work and then charging a restock fee of $35.00 for an item that cost $29.00

Incompetent
Just hung up after about 4 hours trying (with 4 reps) to verify pricing and technical details for FIOS "bundled" services.
Each time I called I was told something different, and never were the reps interested in hearing what the last said nor the quoted pricing.
Finally, after hearing too often that the "last person was wrong" I cancelled the order.
I felt that i could not trust them to know what their system does, nor what the configuration or technical requirements are.

Over Charges
Against Friends' advice, we ordered the FIOS service. Right from the first month of billing, we noticed we were getting additional charges on our invoices for things that we did not have in our contract. Some Verizon reps took care of their “seemingly” errors immediately but some others put us through hell until the issue was resolved. I am guessing this is a source of extra income for Verizon. We exhausted with our monthly disputes and terminated the service at the end of our contract period. Over 28 months had gone by after the termination of the contract when we started receiving invoices from Verizon again. We explained that we had not had an account with Verizon in over two years. They did not accept their own mistake and turned us over to collection agency. The collection agency kept harassing us by frequent phone calls. The calls continued even after we explained we did not have anything to do with Verizon for over two years. Eventually I started hitting back at the collection agency. I started calling them back every 5 to 10 minutes. The agency threatened me with legal action because I was harassing them. I told them I looked forward to their legal action because that was exactly what they did to us. At that point they stopped calling us and did not even report us to credit reporting bureaus. Absolutely, NO TO VERIZON.

Unauthorized Charges
A man came to my house representing Verizon tv. He made me a deal that would give me the same programing I had with my then current supplier Dish Net for 111.97 per mo. This included my phone service and internet which I already had from Verizon. I had a free trial period with all the movie packages for free and now that it's over Verizon is charging me $14.95 extra for Encore, the only movie package I want. This was to be included in my original price. The man told me I'd get the same programming I had with Dish for the quoted price of $111.97. I asked him several times if this included the Encore Movies and he assured me it did and that when the free trial movie package was done, I'd still have Encore included in my package for the $111.97. This was a flat out lie.

Lousy Counter help
Verizon goes beyond incompetent. Nice voices on the phone support, not much help.
Verizon stores on the other hand (like Auburn California, Roseville California, Lincoln CA), are not all Verizon stores. Some are known by Verizon as "indirect." These are independent contractors and Verizon will NOT back them up with support or refunds. In this case the Auburn Verizon store. These people buy the phones from Verizon then resell them. They are incompetent boobs. Been into many of them and the personnel in the Auburn store are rude, arrogant and they boldly lie about their association with Verizon, claiming to be Verizon. They also quote "company p0licies" that do not exist. What goes on this store is not just abnormal, it's abysmal. STAY AWAY from Verizon (the real stores) and Verizon indirects altogether. You're dealing with a company full of sub-level criminals. BTW, that includes major stores selling Verizon products like Wal-Mart, Target and others.

internet service
I have been inquiring about internet service for my home for over 15 years...everyone around me has Verizon DSL service..Verizon has a substation 1.3 miles from me in one direction and neighbors less then 5 miles in the opposite direction have Verizon internet service..actually the substation in that direction is less than 6 miles from me on my road (Winchester Road)...BUT when I call Verizon...I am told ...we do not have service in your area by their consumer service techs...they always say an engineer will call when service is available..my question is how close does a substation have to be..before their internet service CAN BE AVAILABLE...tired of the run around...would think they would have better service than that...

NO HEART
Verizon has no problem being the bad guy in an economy like today we have a 2 year plan with Verizon Cell company and regardless of weather you are working or not and we have not for the last year and have 4 cells with the company, they can care less. But believe u me when its over we will go to team mobiel or Criquet after 8 years because they have no heart. Dani

Verizon–The WORST Customer Service
I have been with Verizon for almost a year now, and I am on my sixth, yes SIXTH refurbished phone. I take very good care of my devices...no water damage, do not drop them, use a case..etc. These phones simply have malfunctioned; each one of them. You would think that after the 3rd phone they would be willing to accommodate me by sending a new phone THAT WORKS, but this has not been the case. I have spent endless hours on the phone with Verizon reps and supervisors and have gotten nowhere. They refuse to provide me with the service and respect that I deserve. Not to mention they have the rudest representatives who have no compassion for others. I've had AT&T and T-Mobile over the past 20+ years before I switched (because I heard Verizon had better coverage) and have NEVER dealt with such poor customer service. It was not worth it; I would much rather deal with better customer service and have a few dropped calls rather than deal with these robots. Verizon is a perfect example of corporate greed and soullessness in today's society. It's pathetic and disheartening...

Unknown Charges
Called verizon to have service, change mind two weeks before planed hook up date, call & cancel, they said ok, two wks later their guy shows up to hook me up, I told him that I cancel it, he said ok & left, he did, nt do nothing. a month later I get a bill for 60 dollars, I called verizon she got very nasty with me & told me I had to pay it, noway I, m I paying for somthing I did, nt get, & today I get another bill, for another month in the amount of 90 dallors, I, m sorry but I, m not paying it.
