Fraudulent company
On June 27, 2007 my son ordered land line service and direct TV from verizon. He needed to put a $100.00 Deposit. He did this by electronic check over the phone from my checking account. The next day we canceled because we were misled about the deposit being for both the TV service and land line service. He was told that it would take up to 3 weeks for us to receive out money back.

Understand that they took the money out immediately. Back in July we started calling for our refund I spent at least an hour if not more being transfered from person to person no one could help me. Some of the personnel were very rude some tried to be very help full.

I have called again in August and again in September. Now the problem is I need proof that I paid the $100.00 The bank and verizon did an ach check pay. There is on actual check only the deduction from my checking account. Verizon has my confirmation number that I paid this. I did send the information and I am being told, if they accept this proof, it will take up to another 6 to 8 weeks for repayment. I have already been waiting 3 months. I think this is long enough. Also they may not accept the proof that I sent to them when I call it takes at least an hour on the phone and at least 5 or more people. Can some one please help get my deposit back.

Awful quality service
Basically, about six weeks ago verizon showed up at my house, with no notice or warning aor anything, dug up the edges of my yard, stuck in these big gray boxes, marked "underground facilities" without my permission or anything. I tried asking questions to a few of the workers, but they indicated they didn't speak English. So I went back inside the house. In the meantime, some of the workers decided they were thirsty, so they came up in my yard, grabbed my water hose and helped themselves. I then saw this African-American lady drive up and I flagged her down and made it clear that this had better not happen again and I tried telling her that they were on my property, but she just said she had asked some man in a red car, which turned out to be my nephew, I said, but he doesn't own anything, that's mine, which she paid no attention to, she just kept talking about the guys stealing the water and she apologized for that, half-heartedly. My main question is, can they do that, just stick something on your property without asking or notifying you? Is it possible to have them removed? Do I have any legal recourse whatsoever? I'm terrified because my parents left this to me and I'm afraid that if they can do this, then eventually they can say well, we need to go further and then further and then eventually try to force me to sell and I never want to sell this because my parents worked so hard to get it.

Scam and rip off
When I received my Verizon bill in April of last year I called the billing department and questioned an amount under ILD Teleservices of 13.22. The rep told me that it was an extra telecommunications fee that had been increased and that there was nothing I could do about it since the Federal Government had increased the rate. So I have been paying this fee all year.

When I received this month's billing (January) my ILD Teleservices increased to $44.41. I called Verizon to inquire about it and was told that they do not charge this this service. It is a service independent of them and I must have approved it. I did not approve of, it to my knowledge. I was given another number to call and kept on hold for well into an hour only to be answered with a 'sorry mam, but we are the third pary who does the billing for this company and you would have to call 866-... to cancel the service. It is for a mobile ansering service.' To my recollection, I do not, and have never needed this type of service. When I called that number I was put on hold for one half hour and gave up. Is this fraud and a scam? Why are Verizon participating in this type of scam by allowing this company to bill customers on their bills?

30 Day Worry Free Guarantee
Frustrated w/service w/At&T I decided to break my contract and go w/Verizon. What did I have to loose with their new "30 Day Worry Free Guarantee?" It stated I could break the contract and /or change phones within 30 days. The Manager in Chipley Fl told me to mail in my rebate for the Blackberry Storm to get back $70. I had until a certain date to do that. I did as I was told but a few days before the 30 days was up I decided that this was really too much phone for me and I could settle for a less expensive one. I went in to exchange the phone and was told that because I mailed in the rebate (hadn't recieved it by the way) and cut the UPC code off the box as instructed that the Worry Free Guarantee was VOID because they could n't sell that phone to anyone else w/the UPC code being cut off the box! I told him this is what you told me to do! I even called Verizon cust. service and they restated what he told me. I've had it w/these cell phone companies! I'm seriously thinking of cancelling Verizon and going w/boost moblie whom I heard doesn't require a contract.

Awful company
I was laid off at Verizon for speaking up on Feb.22, 2006. My title was Escort, Which is an assistant to the telephone technician. My technician was coming on to me. I didn't go for his advances so he asked to have his partner switched which was me. I get switched to another partner. A week later my old technician approached me asking was I telling people he brought me a coat. He knew for a fact I didn't say that from prior conversations. He states to me I can F$%# you up with words. I told him to get out my face because if he got jokes, I got jokes for days on his ugly self. A week or two later I'm hearing rumors that I'm giving my new technician oral sex in the work truck and that I got caught giving him oral sex in a basement at a work sight.

At first the old technician didn't come to mind, I thought maybe it was one of the girls at work that didn't like me. I started working at Verizon as a temp on Dec.30, 2003. I made it to work threw transit strikes and blizzard storms, when theres like thirty-five Escorts and five make it to work. One of them was me.

I finally put two and two together and realized it was the old technician that started the rumor. I then went to my union stewart and the third liner of the company about the problem. They advised me that the company doesn't tolerate such things and that there would be a meeting to correct this problem. I demand respect and you will get no respect with people thinking I do stuff like that.

When I first came to the company there was a rumor of one of the foremans sleeping her way to the top. She was once an Escort. She gets no respect whether the rumor was true or not. A week later after I went to the union stewart there was an announcement that six people would be laid off. In no way in the world would I've have thought I would be on that list. From me being temp. and the old technician being permanent, they got rid of me.

A lot of sexual things happen in this company thats not appropriate. Since I wasn't down with it, I got the boot. There were plenty of other Escorts that knew they should have been let go before me. Two girls had got caught off the job and thats an immediate fire, but they are still working there. Verizon messed up my way of living for speaking up. Also the union did nothing for me.

Verizon was hiring again in Jan. of 2007. I did all the necessary acts to get my job, but still the union did nothing for me.

No phone service
The telephone line coming to the the phone pole in front of our home was severed and lying in the street. The service to our telephone and fax lines ceased. After wading through Verizon's 800 number repair service, we were informed that the repair could not be scheduled for 5 days or until next Tuesday, by 6 pm. THE REPAIR WAS CALLED IN TODAY-FRIDAY ABOUT NOON.

Apparently, Verizon is so short staffed for repair work, it will take 5 DAYS for them to fix the the line. They were nonchalant about the line being in the road, and suggested we contact the police to remove the line from the road.

Terrible company
Hi. I found out today, Sunday 11/4/07, that the voicemail on my home Verizon telephone account has been out of service since or before Thursday, Nov. 1. I found out, because a friend told me she wasn't able to leave a message on my voice mail. Another friend who lives at my condominium says his voicemail has not been working since October, and his is a business line. I called Verizon two times today and spoke to two supervisors. Both said the problem is in Lexington and in Lincoln, Ma. Neither could tell me what the problem is or when it will be repaired. When asked about credit to my account for this service, I was told to call their business department.

I think it's outrageous that they are answerable to NO ONE. We are the consumers, and they don't have the common courtesy to notify us that voicemail is not working. What takes so long to fix? They intend to charge unknowing customers and take their time fixing the problem, unless they are pressured to do otherwise. Thank you for your attention to this problem.

False advertising
I had Verizon FIOS installed on 12/10/2007. I was billed since that date. After nearly three months of phone calls and emails to Verizon service people. It took Verizon Customer service people until February 19th to send me an acknowledgment letter to apply for my free T V. They had "NO PROBLEM " billing during this time for FIOS SERVICE .The Original advertising said 6 to 8 weeks after installation I would have T V.. Is this "FALSE Advertising!!!???? I have copies of the emails for documentation of all this.. They don't seem to care Beware!! If you are considering their offers!! I am still waiting for the delivery of the T V. 04/16/2008.

Horrible experience
This is truly a horrible experience for me! I called Verizon several months ago (regarding a simple billing inquiry). The answer was verbally given to me. To my amazement, I found a box from the teleproducts department of 'Verizon' at my front door. I opened the box and found a telephone. I had not at any time requested that a phone be sent to me. I was not even asked if I wanted to purchase any telephone products at that time. I reported that the phone had been sent (via telephone). They sent a prepaid label for the return. I should have immediately sent the phone back, but I admit I held on to it for a while. It needed to be sent back by UPS. That was where I made my mistake. I was not told that there was a time limitation regarding the return. Apparently, they were just trying to sell this phone. I did finally retape and send back the phone several months later. Mind you, I had not opened the packaging of the phone. It was like new. I would not even be able to tell someone how it looked (except for looking on the outside of the packaging). Honestly, I could not even tell someone that. I never opened the phone!

Now, it seems that they are charging me for the months that I had the phone. I am still being billed even though I never requested or opened the phone! On top of it all, the representatives in teleproducts have truly NOT been 'consumer-friendly'! Around the middle of July, one gentleman stated that they 'did not have to take back the phone!' When it appeared at my door the second time, I had to return it again at my expense. He gave me until August 18, 2006 to return it again. I only got credited $24.56 for a telephone that I never requested or used! In fact, I never opened the box for the phone. Please assist me on this matter. I am not sure if I should pay the entire bill at this time or not. I do not want my service to be interrupted. I will need to decide today because the bill is currently due.
