USA Locksmith Reviews

Seattle May 14, 2009
Seattle "locksmith"
This was unbelievable! I called a locksmith out to see if they could re-key an existing lock on a commercial building. The guy that came out had a bunch of door-knobs and locks in the back of his car, and sold me a "high security" lock. Later I was told by a licensed, bonded and insured Locksmith that the lock he sold me for $248.00 was something that I could buy at Homedepot for under $20.00 and install myself. In the process, the USA Locksmith guy mutilated our old commercial grade doorknob because he didn't know how to remove it from the door. Turns out that the real locksmith could have removed it with a simple specialty screwdriver that all licensed locksmiths carry.
Turns out that there is a group of phoney locksmiths moving from city to city around the country. They started in Chicago and are now in Seattle. Please make sure your locksmith has a license before they do any work!

RIPPED OFF BY USA LOCKSMITH
I was on my way to a training class and clients of mine were locked out of their new house because the agent came and got the combo lockbox before my client could get there. We felt that we should pay for a locksmith so I looked one up on my web browser on my phone and thought I was calling a local company. I was told it would be $39.00 for the service call and $45.00 for each lock that needed changing. I asked about having them rekeyed. I explained that my client could not get in the house and she had painters there waiting to get in to paint. I gave them my credit card based on these figures and thought at the most I would be out around $150.00.

I was in my class and I get a call from someone named Brian who tells me the bill will be over $500.00, I was floored I was helpless. My employee talked to the technician at the site and told him to take his locks and leave - he said he couldn't take them off because then they would be used merchandise. My client asked the guy to stop the work and leave and he would not. I told Brian I objected with the charge, but he said he would be charging it anyway and he had my cedit card number. I told him that is not what I agreed to and I would be taking it up with American Express. Well I took it up with American Express and they came down on his side - I was so mad! I feel totally taken advantage of and ripped off - These people are crooks! DON"T USE THEM! If I can help fight them I will.

Misrepresented charges on the cost of service and thern damaged my truck door
Called for services and was misquoted on the price. Then the technicain stated if I paid in cash he could give me a discounted price. Then after he opened my truck door with a air bag and a home made peice of pipe the truck door was damaged and will not open from the outside.

Great Service
I was locked out of my car last night and I was unsure of what to do for the moment, I was panicking and then someone told me not to worry to just call 411 and a locksmith can help. I did just that and I got the this company called usalocksmith, in around 40 minutes a locksmith arrived at my location he jimmied the door open and charged me something like $65 dollars to do it. I was happy with the service and was glad and appreciative of the service.

outrageous price & sloppy workmanship
Do NOT use this company for lockout services! I locked myself out of my home and a friend contacted USA locksmith for service. The young man attempted to open the door w/ pin apparatus for about 5 min and then proceeded to sloppily drill the key hole core and ruined the decorative plate surroundingthe handle. As he handed me the bill for $187 he assured me that my insurance would cover the tab. Needless to say the insurance company does not cover this service unless it is in the case of a burlary and this guy exited having spent a total of about 10 min and did not even bother to clean up the metal shavings from drilling!! This company way overcharges although they give an initial quote similar to other locksmiths. Do not use usa locksmith. It is worth the wait for someone local with a good reputation.

Lock Out
I was refered to USA Locksmith by a friend and when I locked myself out of my car one night, So I called them to help me out and the dispacther told me that someone would be out to help me in about 25 to 30 mins. I was very cold and it was starting to rain so I was really prayin that someone would come out fast. So after about 20 mins the tech came and it only took him less than 5mins 2 open the lock. And was charged $105, I was not mad at all about having to pay that amount. because the job was done good and in a orderly fashion and I was happy with the job. ;)

Disagree with Other Complaints
I recently had to, to call a locksmith to open the door to my home I after I locked my keys inside, when I called information, USA Locksmith was the number that they gave me. So when I call for a technician to come I was told that someone would be there in about 30mins, and that it would cost $39.99 plus a service charge so I agree, the technician finally came out and did the job and I only had to pay $95 and I was happy with that and the work that was done. And I would not have a problem with calling them again, A very helpful and dependable company. Their only flaw is the time it takes them to come out. However when they do come the job gets done.

ok
I was not to sure about using this ccompany but I had no other choice. I was very stressed out because all the other lockmith companies that I was calling puting me on hold. So I had to call USA hoping that I would not have issues with them. The dispach told me that someone would be arriving to me in about 30mins so I waited and waited and waited and and soon 30mins turned into an 1hour and a half, and went he finally showed up he did the job and charged me the price that I told on the phone. So at the end of the day I was happy other than the time wait.

Rip Off
We were moving from Germantown, MD to Plano, IL when I got locked out of our new house. I grabbed the rental car key and not all of my keys to move my car into the garage. As my husband was not flying in until the next day, I needed a locksmith to get into the new house. Since I was desparate and did not know the area, I had sprint mobile pick the first locksmith they could find which was usalocksmiths. What a mistake that was. First, their dispatch could not find our house and was asking for roads around it of which I had no clue since we were just moving to a new state. Second, they stated that they assigned me a technician which would be there in about 45minutes which was about 45 minutes after I had first called. When that 45 minutes was up, they called stated that the technician claimed to not have received the job order and they were sending out a technician that was much closer but the lockout fee was $255.00 when they originally quoted that it was going to be $55 plus labor. Soon after getting off the phone with them that time, that technician called stating that he was at least 60 minutes away and had no clue where the house was as they just stated a route number the house was off of rather than a street address. I agreed to the later time since I really had no choice. When the locksmith showed up, he looked at the lock and stated that it was a high security lock and therefore he had to drill the lock out. This was a lock leading from the garage to the house and doubted it was a high security lock. However being female, alone and in a strange town, I agreed. After he drilled out the lock, he told me just drilling out the lock was $255 so that was the only thing he was planning on doing in any case. He installed a new door lock which cost $189.00. He rekeyed the lock so it matched the front door. All in all, it cost over $600 dollars to get back in the house which is exorbiant. I am originally from the DC area so I know when I am getting screwed. Unfortunately, USA Locksmith does not realize that I have worked in law for the past 10 years and will vigorously pursue this. I have already launched my first tirade at sprint for having the listing in their service for such fraudulent services. I urge you never to use their services.
