US Work Alliance Reviews

Stay away from these crooks
I was looking for part-time work, so I found an ad in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch paper about making $20 an hour working at the post office. All I had to do was send in $120 for the material and shipping and handling. I got my book followed the instructions about how to go about taking the exam for a job. I took the exam in March of 2008 (hopefully, the exam was on the up and up and was legitimately given by the US Postal Service). About 4 to 5 weeks later, I received in the mail a Notice of Rating - Eligible. I had passed by making at or over the 70 required to pass. I had until after 10-27-09 to write the examination center and before 04-25-10 to do so. I made several calls to see if any positions were opened. To begin with, I only wanted to do something like sort mail or mail clerk (Exam 473). When I called US Work Alliance, the person to whom I spoke with said it would be better to take both exams to which if I got my foot 'through the door', I could put in for other positions. I have been calling about every 4 months. When I tried calling the 800 number, that's when I found out that it was all a 'rip-off'. Is there any way for me to get my $100 back?

Fraudulent charges
I had seen an ad in a local newspaper for exam materials for the postal exam, I called the number and registered with them and signed up for their materials. I paid them over the phone an amount over one hundred dollars. I did recieve some information from them that was of no use. I could not register for any exams or even get my money back from the company.

Postal exam services
Postal Battery Exam study guide and exam services to sign you up for tests that are in your area, is basically a scam. The assistance number is disconnected as are any phone numbers for the company. The study guide was $129.00, and they told me I didn't wait 12 mths to see if there was a test scheduled in the area, and if there wasn't a test scheduled, I could call them to get my money back.

POSTAL STUDY GUIDE
I replied to an ad of US Postal Service Jobs posted in the newspaper and called the 800 709-0162 and ordered a postal study guide and paid with my debit visa card the amount of $129.50 over the phone. First, I spoke with a lady who took all my information. I was told that I will received the package around one week. After that I called right away to cancel the guide because I considered that it was too expensive. Anyway I spoke with this guy Gary Barrett rep #420-4213 and he said to call the following day if I want to cancel. Then I called the following day and they said that they already sent the package and that I have to wait after I receive the package and take the exam and if I don't pass the exam I will receive a refund. Before that I tried to stop payment the transaction throughout my Bank but they tried several times until they charged my account with that amount. After they charged my account I tried to call in several ocassions with no suceeed. I never received the packaged because it was a scam. I don't understand why the US Postal Service dont syncronize these people placing ads in the newspapers and letting them to steel poor people money. After a while I called the number again and I realized that the phone number was disconnected. Please help me and investigate this case because I know that I was not the only one.
