UPS Store Reviews

Poor service
I purchased a mail box 2 yrs ago. I just recently now have a physical location and got notice on October 3, 2009 that my year expired on October 1. Nice notice there. I forwarded my mail through USPS. Apparently they didn't process it and I continued to get mail at the UPS store. The UPS store placed a slip in my box on October 19, 2009 saying that my mail was being withheld unless I paid them $28.00 for that month of service. I told them to fuck themselves and forward the mail. They said they were going to return it to sender. Poor service. Their prices are ridiculous. I found out everything you mail USPS from the UPS store is doubled in price and simply walked over to the post office. What a scam. I will be filing a complaint with corporate.

terrible customer service
This one is theater of the absurd. I ordered a product from NY. It was shipped

UPS. I had to return it, so I re-taqped the original box completely the same as

it had been shipped to me. Cost me $25 to ship, which was about right. I got a

replacement product also shipped UPS, the same thing in the exact same box. I

had to return it also, so I put it back in the box, re-taped it, and took it

down to the UPS Store (Woodinville WA, store # 0191). Suddenly, it was going to

cost $41 for the exact same shipping service. The guy at the counter told me

that the box had grown an inch (!) and that was what accounted for the price

increase. I had him pull up my invoice from the last time that I had shipped

it, and he claimed that the box had grown one inch longer and thus cost more.

Instead of working with me, he told me 1. I don't make the rules 2. I will

cancel your transaction and you should ship this someplace else. I was

flabbergasted- the guy was incredibly rude and clearly didn't care whether he

had my business or not. So, I went a block away to the FedEx Store, where they

cheerfully charged me $23 for the same service that I had tried to get through

UPS. To top it off, I asked him if I could have the business card of the owner-

he said sure, here it is, despite (as I found out later) he was the owner and

did not identify himself as such.

And you can't even complain about these guys. The UPS Stores are franchises,

and, as far as I can tell, there is no way to complain to UPS itself about the

situation.

I have learned my lesson.

Overcharged
This afternoon, I shipped a box containing my friend's medicine that she had left at my house. The box, which I had padded was 5" x 8" x 4". It had to travel from Richmond, VA to Upper Marlboro, MD. For overnignt shipping, the charge was $40.13. The box weighed no more than 6 pounds. This has to be a ripoff. If my friend did not need it right away, I would have walked out.

Live Scan Fingerprinting
I went to get fingerprinted at The UPS Store for my new job on September 3, 2009. Rashmi, a UPS employee, opened up the computer and enetred the information and then I ROLLED MY OWN PRINTS! 5 weeks later my place of employment still had not heard back from the FBI, Rashmi assure me that the FBI results take longer and to be patient. Come to find out (directly from the Manager at the Department Of Justice) Rashmi did not enter the correct information, so my prints were never submitted to the FBI. NEVER get your Live Scan prints done at the UPS store!!!

Rude owner
I decided to use the UPS store in Winter Springs instead of a post office box. That was a mistake. A UPS store doesn't forward mail once you cancel, unlike the post office. But what made me angry is that the guy who owns the place was rude once we said we were not renewing the contract a second time. He didn't thank us for the business we gave him, just scolded us for not continuing. Unbelievable. There's a nearby storage unit that sells boxes for 5 bucks...this guy charged 90 bucks minimum for 3 months with 30 bucks month to month after.

Ripoff Charges - No Response to Complaint
On August 4, 2009, I took two framed certificates (one with a lot of artwork) to the UPS store for packaging and delivery to my U.S. Army kids in South Korea. The package weighed 15 pounds with dimensions of 36X6X30. I was charged a total of $193.41 of which $162.90 was for shipping. When I arrived in South Korea on August 13, 2009, the package had not arrived. I sent an email to store 4571 on August 30 and August 31. I received no answer. When I returned to Texas on September 6, I went to the store to inquire about what had happened. The manager simply stated it was out of her hands since the post office was given the package. There was no offer to research the package...she simply did not care. I asked why she hadn't responded to my email. Her response was, "Sorry 'bout that". I immediately left the store stating that they hadn't heard the last from me. I went to the U.S. Post Office where the postal clerk researched the package. He discovered that the package was sent "SA", meaing Space Available. I was never advised by the UPS Store that the package would be sent in that manner. I sent two online complaints to UPS and they have refused to answer me.

Deeper Issues than Just Poor Service
I went to the Arkadelphia UPS Store after having difficulty obtaining information at the US Postal Service--the person was relatively new and could not tell me, definitively, what product I needed to purchase to move my parcel from Arkadelphia to an APO (Military address). I then went to UPS and was told I needed to purchase 2 products (both products of US Postal Services). Since I had already spent 35 minutes of my lunch hour, I was now in a bit of a hurry. I did not receive services commensurate with the amount that was charged. I was OVERSOLD products and did not realize this until taking time, later, to recount the transaction at the UPS Store. Upon making this realization, I went back to the store and asked the older gentleman (do not know his name) exactly what they had sold me and was it the product that I needed--he was EXTREMELY VAGUE in his answers and danced around the question for some time--a customer came in and I was shortly thereafter dismissed. I phoned the store on Monday morning (July 20) and received the same vague response. What the gentleman did elaborate on was the fact that I purchased 2 products there were completely useless, due to the fact that the item was destined for an APO. After he made that clarification, again, a customer's arrival hastened the conclusion of our conversation. I had no issue with the cost of transporting my item, but I was deeply sadden to realize that the objective of the clerk was to squeeze as much money out of me as possible, not to provide me the service and product I needed. I would rather drive to Malvern than again use the services of the UPS Store in Arkadelphia. Thank you for reading.**URGENT UPDATE*** After the above-listed scenario, I went down to the UPS store with a collegue of mine--I, again, asked the gentleman at the front desk for a copy of my receipt--he refused! Not only did he REFUSE, he told me "you are wasting my time, get out of my store." I tried to explain to him that I was a customer who had purchased services and now, I wanted a receipt for the said-purchases. He began to assist another customer and acted as if I was not even there. I must admit it made me angry--I believe the issues are far deeper than my transaction. Again, asking him for a copy of my receipt, he told me that if I didn't leave, he would call the POLICE!--now, this started out as a simple request to get my son a parcel from Arkadelphia to his APO in Germany--he's in the Army--and it went from overselling to calling the police (surely he would have released German Shepards if he had had them in his store). Again, I would NEVER enter the doors of this UPS store unless it was under new management! Besides, I believe I have been banned from this store--I am 43 years old and have NEVER had such an encounter in my LIFE and I have been in 40 states of our union and 2 different countries! This owner is OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Fraudulent Affiliations, Bad Customer Service
UPS store is a fraud. No affiliation with UPS and won't take responsibility for lost packages. Customer service only offered advice to sue them for help (basically non-existent customer service). Do NOT use them for any reason!

Poor customer service
Dear Sirs: 5/6/09
I want to express to you my dissatisfaction with some poor customer service, which I received at your location located in South San Francisco. The store is on the corner of El Camino Real and Hickey Blvd.
My reason for needing the stores service was as a good deed, for a deceased neighbor of mine. The box in question was delivered to a Mr. Don Belinas’ residence, 1700 El Camino Real #10-6. The package was addressed to a Mr. Dan Aguillar, same street address as above. Anyway I picked the box up from outside of Mr Belinas’ residence and carried it over to the UPS Store. The salesperson at the courter was a Pilipino gentleman. I asked the man to return the box to the sender. He said I had to take it to another location. I told him I wasn’t going to do that. He then told me I had to pay postage. I told him that I wouldn’t do that either. He then told me he was going to call the police, while picking up the phone. At that point I was leaving the store, the last thing I heard the man say was that he was going to throw the box away. I said fine, do what you must.
I later went into the store, thinking that I could talk to the Manager of the Store, but the same man was behind the counter, so I asked him his name and told him I was going to talk to his manager about his attitude. He then told me to leave the store, which I did. I wasn’t given the counter person’s name, which I really wasn’t expecting, at that point.
Thank you,
John Larsen

Rude staff
I ask the clerk in the UPS office to box the items that I laid on the counter. Instead the girl filled the box with popcorn and place my items in the box and sealed it with tape. When she brought the b ox out I asked her if it was full, she stated no. I had additional items to be placed in the box. She took the tape off and proceed to say, "I do not want your glass items to be broken." (There were no glass items in the box. The n ext day or today I had additional items to send; again, the girl placed the items in the box along with popcorn. I abruptly asked her to take the popcorn out. I only asked for a box and there were no glass items. The other staff member stated that I did not have to be rude! The other staff member continued on with, you are rude, why do you have to talk so loud, etc. She could not shut up. Of course I will change UP store.
