Delivered another crushed package
In the last 3 months I have had 3 packages delivered from UPS crushed. The latest package had "Fragile Handle with Care" tape wrapped around the package 3 times, clearly making the package as fragile. The contents were glass that had been properly double wrapped in bubble packaging and then placed in side the box within another nest of packaging. The contest should have been safe if the package was handled properly. Instead the package was crashed and the contents broken.
What burns me more is the driver actually delivered the crushed package!
Two of the 3 packages delivered from UPS to my home in the last 3 months have had damaged contents. The recovery/replacement process is long and tedious. I personally will not use UPS again, nor will I shop with vendors that only ship UPS ~ It is a small stand against a huge company but obviously they care nothing about the consumer.

Unauthorized charges
UPS tried to deliver a parcel and no-one was home. They left a card advising me that they would attempt the next day. On the card was a brokerage fee of 36.98. The item that was sent to me by some stupid idiot in California DVS Sales sent to me a dvd and a secure digital card weighing what 3 oz. This has no value and DVS Sales could have put it in the mail for 3.00 bucks. UPS run everything through a supposed brokerage and charge the customer for this.
If you are in Canada and want something from the U.S.A. DON'T USE UPS. Use parcel post. Avoid this UPS rip-off.

Harassment
Inside UPS - What did brown do for me?
As a former employee of UPS, I felt a compelling urgency to write this letter about discriminatory and harassing work conditions that are practiced and tolerated by management within United Parcel Service Company.
There is an individual - known within the organization as the hatchet-man - who worked/works as a Division Manager for UPS buildings: DC, Springfield, Newington and Alexandria. On a daily basis he singles out and viciously targets, African-Americans, Hispanics and female staff. He verbally intimidates and threatens the jobs of his subordinates, undermines their efforts to complete assignments, belittles them in front of their colleagues and staff. His behavior in formal settings such as meetings has been witnessed to escalate and cause stress related medical symptoms in staff. The list of people he harassed over several years is enormous. . His actions have been reported yet continue to go ignored by his superiors, HR and top management. In fact, his interrogational style is supported as hardnosed and effective. He is allowed to discriminate against whomever he wants because he has no direct oversight. Projects have unreasonable timeframes for completion and outcomes. His behavior is vindictive, and personal attacks are implemented against those who do not conform to him. Information is not effectively communicated so that you are not informed about changes in meetings or deadlines and then he uses public forums to ostracize lower level management staff. Personally, I have required return visits to my physician who considered returning me to medical treatment for hypertension during my length of time working there. These harassments are documented with HR and UPS Employee Complaint Line. Although many people have complained - including myself, repeatedly - nothing has been done about this person. I know that my complaints led to my termination, but no matter how much I complained to HR I was never heard; my cases were never investigated. I was subsequently terminated by the organization and denied unemployment in November of 2008 for an offense the organization categorized as grounds for dismissal and refused to allow mediation.
When people like this individual are allowed to rule as he does, it creates a fearful and abusive environment. I witnessed it first hand and feel it is important to expose the truths about such happenings because people - who are afraid to loose their jobs or to speak out - are still being abused by his actions. My constant complaining led to my termination and no investigation was ever conducted on my behalf. I have sent complaints to the UPS complaint Line and EEOC to report such happenings but no action was taken to resolve this. I know these actions continue to go unmonitored, therefore, I want others to be aware that this oppressive behavior affects the daily lives of those persons suffering at these locations.
When I applied for employment at UPS, I came on board with an extensive background (26+ years) as a Computer Programmer. I was told that I had to earn the IT jobs and had to take a series of tests to qualify for an available position after a year with the company. In the interim, I worked as a package scanner making $9.00/hr. After a year, I tested for management and wrote a letter to the head of Human Resources stating my expectations and goals. Each year as required, I wrote a letter requesting the opportunity to be considered for a position in the area of my expertise but did not receive a response. When I questioned the rationale for not being given the opportunity to be considered as a candidate for positions in the informational technology division I was informed by HR that they are "special jobs" and not everyone has the qualifications as a candidate. I further asked if all candidates with a background in Computer Science have to start as non-technical worker before they could transfer, I was not given a definite answer. In response I forwarded this question to EEOC to investigate. As of today, I have not received a response.
I, like many of his other victims, are not getting the help or support we need to stop this type of behavior. I realize UPS is a private company and they can select whomever they choose but I feel that without having been informed of their policies or protocols in writing, as well as verbally by the human resource department I question the integrity of this practice and I have been denied my right to opportunities. It is my expectation that those responsible for regulating unfair practices, such as the Department of Labor, should do something to assist a person that was obviously harassed and discriminated against. I intend to send this letter to all that will listen until I am offered an appeal.
Please note that I have a list of persons willing to testify and persons who were abused mentally and quit rather than deal with the company unjust politics. Also, since I worked as a Safety Specialist for the company I have knowledge and witnessed violations of OSHA laws in which many of the documents that OSHA reviews were falsified to appear compliant. I can easily prove this information since I maintained the books and witnessed such activities.
There are so many truths that should be exposed about UPS, harassment/discrimination and noncompliance that strongly exist and are not being addressed.
I look forward to intervention to take place on my behalf and those who remain at UPS.
Sincerely,
Lawanda R. Davis

Driver Lied
We ordered an item from LMC Truck and paid by credit card (Visa). Two of the same item were delivered to my home. The first was returned as it was labeled C.O.D. which was an error on the retailers part. The second package, and to our knowledge the only package, was paid for by credit card and was shipped to my home also. When the first package was delivered my wife was at home and refused the package because we had no knowledge that a package was coming C.O.D.
The driver was very patient and understanding about returning the item as my wife assured him it was paid by credit card once and did not wish to pay cash on delivery knowing full well that our credit card had been charged for this item.
Upon calling LMC Truck my wife was informed that there were actually two orders for the same item, one to be sent C.O.D. and the second was paid by credit card and that the second package was also to be delivered the same day by a different driver.
The second package from LMC Truck was delivered by on the same day and no one was home to accept it so the driver returned the package and informed LMC Truck that it to was refused, which is NOT true. There was no one home to receive it!
Due to the lying and incompetence of the second driver we are now waiting to have our credit card credited and to reorder the item. In the meantime we are unable to complete the job that the item was to be used for causing a major inconvience to everyone involved on our end of this transaction.
It has always been my understanding that if UPS delivered a package and no one was home to accept it then the driver would leave a card on the door stating that an attempt was made for delivery and UPS should be contacted to arrange a delivery time when the package could be accepted.
I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in UPS and this apparently lazy driver who chose to send our item back to the retailer rather than make another attempt at delivery or to leave the package on the porch, possibly because there were two large boxes weighing approximately ten pounds a piece.
We have had numerous items delivered by UPS in the past. I have never had to sign for them and if I wasn't at home the package was left on my front porch which is a dry, private area set back from the road. Unless someone walks up the steps it can not be determined that a package has been left, security is NOT an issue.
This driver was simply lazy.
To me this is not acceptable. In the future I will consider using FED-EX.
Thank you for your time,
Robert E. Weaver Sr.

Unethical
UPS local store shipped fragile items, they packed and I paid for fragile packing and postage. Shipment arrived completely damaged, elephant sculptures all broken. The shipment was sent back to Universal City, UPS store. After holding for 2 weeks at the store, they called and told me to pick up the damaged merchandice a check was released for their value back to the store. The next day UPS store called me to bring the package back or they would not release check. The broken elephants had already been placed and picked up by trash collection. Even though the store had the open and damaged package for over a week for inspection, which they did, they now will not release check without broken elephants.
UNETHICAL and a scam and their Promise means nothing.
NEVER AGAIN!!!

Bad Delivery, NO recourse
I have a retail business that opened in October, 2008. It is a storefront in a strip mall on a prominent corner in a small town. I have a sign both on the street and above the store. BIG illuminated letters, 20 full feet of windows, address prominently displayed, and hours of operation, 6 days a week, posted clearly to the immediate left of the door. My customers have no trouble seeing the hours, and neither does Fed Ex. UPS, however, cannot seem to deliver my inventory.
Since October, UPS has failed to deliver FIVE shipments. When I track them. I find that they claim to have "attempted" delivery three times, and sent a postcard. All of which is pure nonsense, of course. No notice has ever appeared, and no postcard has ever been sent. In fact, they drive right by and pretend they attempted delivery. I have had to pick up my packages from their distribution center three times, and complained them into actually delivering them twice.
Whenever I know I am being sent anything through UPS, I stay all over it. Just today, though, I called a shipper regarding inventory that was supposed to arrive last week. I thought it was being sent Fed Ex, and wondered why I hadn't received it yet. Lo and behold, UPS had it. I got the tracking number, and called them just before they sent it back! Now, this isn't Aunt Tillie's birthday gift, this is product, and each day I don't have it is a day I can't sell it. So I tell them I have had enough. I want to pick up all my packages because their drivers are lazy and undependable. Guess what? The stupidvisor mumbles on that gee, golly whiz, she doesn't think the clerks would be able to call me or e-mail me that a package was there, but the drivers could just leave a notice. I repeated that the drivers don't leave notices, adding that she clearly doesn't understand the problem. She says it was three different drivers. I said that tells me she has big employee problems, and that it is as systemic as I suspected. I'm not hiding the storefront, I tell her. I don't have an invisibility cloak over the sign. Well, gosh, she just doesn't know what to do. I asked for someone who did know what to do, and gee, there really isn't anybody. Yeah, right.
I finally gave up, hung up and changed my purchase orders to read, "PLEASE SHIP FED-EX ONLY!!!"
Incredible.

Delivery problems
The UPS person for my route in Hoboken, NJ does not actually deliver my packages. He simply pastes the "delivery attempt" note on the door and moves on. I have complained to UPS about this twice already and posted large notes on my apartment's front door indicating that I am home and awaiting delivery... neither has helped.
In the most recent instance, UPS told me the guy would attempt to redeliver the package on the same day. They gave me a timeframe for redelivery at "around 5PM, " and after calling them at 6, 7, 8, and 9PM, they still assured me he was coming, possibly as late as 11PM because it was their "busy season." He never showed up.
Now UPS is telling me I asked them to hold the package at their delivery center in Secaucus, NJ, which is difficult to believe considering I live in the walking community of Hoboken, NJ and have no car.
Through this process, UPS has also promised to call me back twice and not honored the promise. I have had to explain the situation each time I call, as they do not keep notes on open complaint cases. After hours on the phone, the best they can do is tell me that at some point the driver will re-attempt delivery.

Unable to change delivery options for international package
Lenovo from China shipped a laptop to me to the United States.
On the first delivery attempt on 11/26, the driver left a note that another attempt will be made on Monday 12/1 which is after thanksgiving. I called the phone number listed, I asked the package to be held at the local UPS office, so that I can pick it up. The automated message said there was a problem with processing the request and that I should try later.
Later I used the website to do the same. It was the thanks giving weekend and so the following monday I went to the UPS center and they said the package was again out for delivery and that it was the third attempt. Apparently there was another attempt made on 11/28 at 5pm, which was earlier than what the note said. If I had known that, I would have been home at that time. I was given a phone number which the automated message didn't help.
I came back and went to the website again where I tried to change the delivery method and I got an error which asked me to call 1800-811-1652.
When I called that phone number and I was told that it was the wrong phone number and that I should call 1800-782-7892; but the lady was kind enough to transfer me.
I am tired of running around behind UPS and most importantly waiting for the express package to arrive.

UNRELIABLE DELIVERY
UPS is our chosen payroll delivery company. Recently they have proven to be the flakiest, most unreliable one. At Christmas time, we paid our employees on Wednesay, Christmas Eve, because we were closed the rest of the week. The package was Next Day Air. It reached us here in Alexandria, but our delivery driver "forgot" our package at the hub. If this wouldn't have been payroll, I would not have cared as much.
When I started calling UPS, they said they would leave our local hub a message to call us back within 1 hour to let me know if I can just pick up our package. The local hub is less than a mile from the office. They did not call. We called the 800 number back, and they said the first message was never sent, and they w0uld send another. We would receive a call within the hour. They refuse to connect you or give the number of local hub. We played this game 3 times. Finally, I was told it was arranged to be delivered by 5pm. So, an hour later, at 4:45, the local hub calls and tells me that they have found our package and can go ahead and pick it up. WHAT?? They just said it was being delivered. I have been trying to pick it up all damn day!!
So this week wednesday, our first payroll of the new year, the driver goes to our payroll company to pick up our payroll. They pick up all packages EXCEPT ours. It is left behind. So, they pick it up the next day on thursday. This was originally to be sent Next Day Air, so it's already a day late. I start tracking the package to be sure the "Christmas Debacle" doesn't happen again. The package is guarenteed to be here by 10am. Well, after a cross country tour, it arrves in Lafayette this morning where adverse weather conditions were reported on the tracking history. OK, it is 70 degrees and sunny in Lafayette today! How are those adverse conditions?? It arrives in New Orleans at 7:50 and leaves at 9am. We are 4 hours away from New Orleans. So, they've missed the 10:30 delivery for sure. And they are definelty too late for the package to have been put on the delivery truck this morning. I call, and all they tell me is what is on the tracking summary online. I wanted to know if the truck would come directly here from New Orleans, or stop at the hub. I am willing to pick up the package again. But, I am not waiting until 5pm for someone to "feel" like calling and telling me it's available. I am going to request we change our delivery to FedEx. This is highly unacceptable, expecially when it comes to employee paychecks. Wish Me Luck!

Bad service
I have never had any problems with UPS until now. The second to last package delivered was partially opened, though none of the contents were missing. The most recent one had several holes and a few large rips in the packaging. Also, one of the items I had ordered was missing. I called UPS Customer Service, and the rep who answered was polite. She informed me that I would have to notify the company I had ordered from in order to receive a refund or replacement.
The delivery time was fine for UPS Ground.
On a side note, I answered the door within about 10-15 seconds, so I know it couldn't have been someone random passing by or a neighbor.
