rude employees
Employees at the Augusta, Ga. Toys R Us are rude, not helpful, talking and laughing with each other, ignoring customers. The store needs to hire extra help at Christmas time like so many other businesses do, but this store never has enough help any time of the year, and the help they do have might as well be somewhere else. Please do something about this awful situation. We had an extremely frustrating and unpleasant experience at this location two nights ago.

online ordering and customer service terrible
I ordered gifts online for my children for Christmas. These were ordered with a delivery date that was estimated to be in plenty of time for the holiday. We are going to be leaving to go out of town on a certain date, and it was vital that the gifts arrive in time. As long as they arrived when promised, we actually had time to spare. So, now that it is past the date they were to arrive, and we are leaving town in 4 days, the toys are not here. I call the store. Even though the items are in stock in the warehouse, they have not yet been shipped. So, I ask the person on the phone, after I have waited forever on hold, when they will be shipped, and she says she is sorry but she just has no idea. They are very behind. I ask her what she can do to help me, and she recommends that I call back in a couple of days, or just go ahead and cancel my order. So, I decided to go out to the stores and see if I can find the items before cancelling. Running around all day, I find the items. I get home and call back. The woman who answers the phone after again being on hold forever says that she cannot cancel the order. Even though they haven't shipped the items, they still have to ship them to me anyway, and then I will have to ship them back. I explain to her that I am going out of town and won't be home to accept the packages. They haven't even billed me yet for the items, because they don't bill until they ship. However, she just simply says "sorry" we are going to bill you and ship them to you anyway. Too late. We can't cancel. Although, she still couldn't tell me when they would be shipped or arrive. Absolutely unacceptable!

Returns
I made a purchase at Toys R Us and paid part by credit card and part by gift card. I ended up wanting to return two of the items I purchased. The first store I went to said it could only return one of the items, and it sent me to a second store to make the return. The second store said that because I had paid part b gift card, I could only get back store credit. The store refused to return any of my money back onto my credit card.

Get this: Their reasoning was that when I had made the original purchase, I paid first by gift card. Therefore, whichever method I paid first would be the method of the return.

Why would I ever pay credit card first when I am paying part by gift card? How would I know how much to put on the credit card? I didn't realize it was my responsibility to bring a calculator to figure this out when shopping from Toys R Us.

Ordered all my christmas presents for my son
All items were available when I placed my order weeks ago
Now they have cancelled items from my order saying they are no longer in stock and have charged me for shipping as well as the item
This is not the first time they have scamed me out of the shipping but it is the LAST

asshole
Fahim the store manager was a complete asshole! I called to tell him that one of his associates had hung up on me twice. Once was on hold waiting to see if they had a certain toy for my daughter and another time they just picked up and hung up to not deal w/ the inquiries.. Then when i called for the third time Fahim answered and didn't have any empathy or apologize what-so-ever. He was a complete jerk!!! I told him how he was being and he didn't care! Toys r us really SUCKS!!!

Refund never processed!
I purchased a crib from Toys R Us and subsequently received an email notifying me the crib was recalled and I should stop using it and send it back. I had numerous problems with Toys R Us staff trying to get the crib picked up by UPS as they instructed and once the crib finally got back to Toys R Us I received an email saying the purchase price was refunded, however, the refund never made it back to my credit card so now I have no crib and no money! I have spoken to Toys R Us customer service multiple times and half the time they insist the refund was processed and the problem must be with my bank while the other half of the time the customer service representative tells me that I am right and it looks like the refund was not processed but they will take care of it right away. It has been three months now and I still have not received my refund. My opinion of online shopping has completely turned around. I have no faith in online support centers. I have opened complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office. My credit card company is also looking into it, but since they did not receive a transaction there is little they can do it seems.

unethical online practices
I have to report an annoying experience that I had with Toys R Us last night. I went online at 10 EST to buy their deals to save the trip to the store in the cold rain.

I put items into my cart. I put in 3 transformers figures marked at $11.99 each. In your cart, they all show that price until you put in 3 of them. Then once you put in three items, it makes two of them free. I did the same for GI Joe figures. The price in my cart was accurate. Then I browsed their ad for another half hour or so looking at some items. Then I went through the check out process. Once I submitted and agreed to the price, I hit submit again. Then it charged me more than I agreed to.

The reason it charged more was because two of the figures I wanted weren't available anymore. Since they weren't available anymore, the ones that I had for free went back to normal price (remember you have to have 3 in your cart of same price to get the other two free). So since one transformer and one GI Joe wasn't available, it put the price back up. This is annoying since I thought that if it was in your cart, then it is yours to have, right? Kind of like have something in your physical cart at a real brick and mortar store.

I tried to call their customer service. The first time, the automated system hung up on me. The second time, I was left on hold forever.

So I decided to drive to the physical store...

When I got there, the line was around the building. I though that was the people for the 5 AM deals...nope. Turns out it was busy. They only let so many people in due to fire codes. As 20 people left, they let 20 more people in.

I didn't even attempt it.

So at this point, I spent 90 minutes or more and didn't even get the simple figures I wanted.

Who should I contact? Toys R Us is starting to leave the same bad taste in my mouth as Wal-Mart.

what ever happend to customer service!
Wow way to ruin my thanksgiving toys r us really the store manager was a prick no people skills what so ever. I mean why is it that imigrants have to be assholes with each other? I guess it makes a big differnce that I crossed a river and him a ocean. I was trying to get a matress for my unborn son for black Friday, naturally it was on sale but didn't get the sale price well manager came around n from the getco he just looked down on me. I mean if you wanna stop me from spending money at the store at least be polite about it. For some reason these managers forget that they have a job because of consumers especially in retail.the whole time this prick is trying to look down on me.well we didn't get anything resolved other then I hope this story keeps more people away and let toys r us go the way of kmart.

rude and unknowledgeable
Tonight, my father and I shopped at Toys R Us in Katy by Katy Mills Mall... BIG mistake! The people there were RUDE & UNKNOWLEDGEABLE! In my search for the perfect Christmas present for my husband, I found a great shirt that he would love sitting out in plain sight on the shelf. Excited, though it wasn't his size, I inquired whether there were any more. The sales associate for the electronics department (where the shirts were located) told me that was the very last one because it was a promo item for a video game that had recently been released. Hearing the word promo, I asked whether it was for sale and he said yes of course it was. I then asked the price and when he scanned it, it came up as 1 cent. His fellow associate said he wished to buy it but I said with a smile that I definitely wanted it. The sales associate then said he had to check with the manager for the real price but said, with a smile, that this was definitely my shirt... Then he returned, said it was not for sale and he could not give it back to me. The elation that had blossomed inside me instantly died... He knew it was a promotional item. He said it was for sale anyway. And then he took it from me and walked away. I went to speak to the manager, who was cold and rude and never even said sorry. He just said they would not sell it to me and walked away. My father tried to talk to the man, who insisted that it was going to be shipped back to the manufacturer, but I've worked in a video game store and none of the promo items EVER got sent back. I assume that shirt is now on the back of the other associate that had wanted it. I would LOVE someone to check into it and see if it actually did go back to the original manufacturer. I have worked in customer service and retail for 12 years and I have never seen a manager treat any customer the way I was treated. There was no kindness or apologies or anything but annoyance and flat out rudeness from this man. On top of this, my father tried to purchase other things and kept meeting with obstacles. Something rang up wrong, so instead of calling for someone who worked there to go verify the price, they made my dad walk all the way across the store to show them. Then the refused to honor a promotional offer they had running if you purchased more than $75 worth of stuff because apparently one of the MANY things he was buying was on sale~ not clearance, but the price they had set it at was apparently a deal or something. My father, having been through one hurdle after the other with them left his $100 purchase and walked out. I will NEVER shop at ANY Toys R Us again and I will make sure every friend and relative and person on the internet I can reach does the same.

Dependent coverage dropped
Toys R us recently did a audit of employee dependents. They cut 2 of my children as well as my husband off my coverage but chose to cover my other two children. Without any notice they are taking a huge amount of arrears from my paycheck for coverage I was denied. From what I am hearing there are a lot of people that have been wronged in this process. I am hoping to hear from some of them. (class action lawsuit).
