TicketMaster Reviews

Nightmare
It was a nightmare last night, at the Justin Bieber concert in Norfolk, VA, for the people who had purchased "paperless tickets" from Ticketmaster. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE EVER FOR A CONCERT. Ticketmaster sold the same seats to different people, causing chaos. We bought these tickets months ago and ticketmaster left us with no help of any kind though they were certainly quick to take our money plus various fees for using their "service". What a mess. I will never buy tickets for anything from ticketmaster again. Be very careful when dealing with them.

Never recieved tickets
I ordered my tickets for the Cotton Bowl in September. Waited for the e-mail saying my tickets were sent out- never came. Waited and never received them by October. Five representatives later... The first two lied to me over the phone and said they would cancel the original tickets and resend new ones. The two were via e-mail and they informed me I had to pick them up at will call- at the box office. When I informed them I was giving the tickets as a gift they said 'no problem' I just have to give the people who are going my credit card information. Umm, yeah that's a problem. I don't just hand out a copy of my c.c. front and back. So, I called to explain it to another rep. and he, lacking any customer service skills, informed me they are not responsible for the mail or the customers receiving the tickets. Also, I could send the person to the box office without my c.c. info. but they might refuse entry- in which case there is nothing they can do. Wow. I chose ticketmaster for their credibility, but I made a huge mistake. Will never happen again.

Useless
Ticketmaster is not allowing me to buy tickets for Ozzfest just because I don't live in USA!!!

That's absurd!!!

Separate discount ticket purchase
I ordered two separate sets of discount tickets thorough ticketmaster for Lillith Fair in Philadelphia: one set for my mother and I, as well as one for a close friend- The one discount ticket I ordered for my close friend was cancelled and ticketmaster didn't send me a warning saying they had cancelled my friend's ticket- I think it only fair that since all other online companies send information as to whether or not an item has been sent that ticketmaster should have sent me warning- Instead I found out two weeks later when my extra promotional discount ticket didn't arrive- I called ticketmaster to complain and they told me there was nothing they could do accept order an expensive replacement ticket. I think that after waiting over an hour to find out that they cancelled my ticket they should have given me a ticket at an equal value of $10- Instead I payed $50 for a replacement ticket! Ticketmaster is horrible!!

Refund/Reissue
i ordered tickets for the chicago shedd aquarium for june 13th.they send me tickets for saturday june 12th. i called to complain and see if they could just send me new tickets since it was already paid for.they told me no they couldnt do that since they were no longer selling tickets for the 12th.i said well this is ridiculous i ordered tickets for the 13th and on your end screwed up and sent me tickets for the wrong date, they relpiled by saying they couldnt reissue due to all sales being final, and that they couldnt resell tickets for that date. they were unwilling to refund or reissue tickets for the proper date after numerous phone calls. and even after i disputed the charges with my bank and them trying to contact for information with no returned phone calls! I will NEVER use this comapny again! they are only out to get the money they could care less what happens after they get that credit card number!
Brothers Merchandise is Unethical June 8, 2010
Failure to deliver merchandise
After purchasing a Concert Package through Ticketmaster the offer was changed to include worthless merchandise. I contacted Ticketmaster whom after rudely transferring me around from call center to call center, passed me off to Randy Braverman of Brothers Merchandising. A man who seems helpful at first, but simply keeps putting you off in the hopes you will go away. The overall plan here is to deliver the junk they substituted your items for as close to the concert date as possible and keep you questioning it long enough to make your credit card company unable to reverse the charges they made to your card. In the end both Randy Braverman and Ticketmaster both prove to not be concerned with customer service and ethical business, but only concerned with how much money they can make.

False claims
Paid £285 each for 2 VIP experience tickets.

Face value of tickets £70 (ok).

Recieved a programme worth £15 leaving a balance of £200.

This £200 got me 3 drinks and a mouthful of food.

The service was disgusting and at one point the bar ran out of beer.

The information we recieved before the event was non existant and we spent the first half hour walking backwards and forwards until eventually we got to the so called "VIP Area" in this case a place called The Loft. While sitting there we spoke to other couples who felt exactly the same as us and it appeared to all of us the only way you can obtain decent tickets for big events such as this, is to buy a package.

This is something i will never do again and i will be asking TicketMaster how they justify the prices that we had to pay.

I feel i deserve some sort of explanation and even compensation for the false claims i was given before the event on the TicketMaster website.

Service charge/monopoly
TicketMaster was originally created as a way to help consumers get tickets to the sports/cultural/music performances on line and was a grate service to the consumers. The small service fee they charged was understandable as everybody have to make profit.
However in a few years the company had become a huge and nasty monopoly.

Complaint:
Resent Gogol Bordello performance at the Williamsburg Waterfront, Brooklyn, NY
Fri, Jul 30, 2010 06:00 PM: the official ticket price is $36 and Ticketmaster is charging $10 per ticket as convenience charge. That’s 27% per ticket. We are talking tickets sales, no heavy labor involved. At most they should be charging per order, not per ticket. And the WORTH of all – there is no alternative. The venue does not sell tickets, no ticket booth anywhere sells tickets – it’s a monopoly.

It’s not a single case either. I discussed it with plenty of people and the situation is getting out of hands. Ticketmaster is increasing the charges across the border and in many cases is the only source to get the tickets.

Bill Cosby Show Tunica, MS
This is ridiculous, our tickets were canceled and we were never called! We had exceptional seats one row from the stage for the Bill Cosby performance at the Horshoe Casino in Tunica, MS! When a friend said the date was changed for the show we assumed that we would be reissued however we were not so now we are stuck taking the worst seats in the house. I work in Corporate Guest Satisfaction research and I can tell you this is an unacceptable and frankly extremely shady business practice. I will certainly post my concerns to every social media site available including Twitter, Facebook, ConsumerAffairs.com, etc. as I would hate for anyone else to get caught up in these unscrupulous business practices.
