Telekom Malaysia/Streamyx Reviews

Unreasonable billing and Rude staffs
I have terminated my Streamyx broadband connection to my house personally on 3 June 2010 because the
connection was so slow and the service kept breaking down regularly until at some point, I couldn’t connect to
internet at all. I filed a report to have it fixed and was told that a technician will come over to my house to check on the problem after troubleshooting failed. However, nobody showed up. The problem had persisted for too long and every month I had been paying RM77 for a service that I couldn’t even use, so I decided to terminate the Streamyx connection on 3 June 2010 in TMpoint Bukit Raja.

After filling up the required form and getting my IC photocopied for verification, I was given a copy of the
termination form and was told that a final RED notice will be sent to my house as notice of termination. After
waiting for about a month, the notice did not come and I was slapped with another bill demanding for another RM77 on the bill for the month of June for the Streamyx connection that I couldn’t use at all. I was counting on the RED notice to come so I could get the amount deducted but it never arrived.
I then filed a complaint at TMpoint Bukit Raja but the service attendant was so rude and unhelpful, telling me that if I have a problem with it, I should file a complaint, and so I did. I paid off the bill and asked for the rebate since it simply wasn’t reasonable for me to pay for something that I had terminated for more than a month.
Then, on 7 August 2010, I received another letter from TM saying that I had an outstanding amount of RM77 in my account. I went to TMpoint Bukit Raja YET AGAIN to demand an explanation. Since my house alarm system is connected to the phone system, and the bills come together, I couldn’t risk having my phone line interrupted so I paid off the amount and filed a complaint as well as request for rebate of the RM77.

On 7 September 2010, I received yet another letter from TM dated 26 August 2010 requesting me to send them a copy of the termination letter because according to their record, my Streamyx account was terminated on 24 June 2010 and not 3 June 2010. This is very annoying and unprofessional because I only have a copy of the termination form whilst they are the ones having the original one and they are requesting me to send them a copy. Furthermore, the stamp on the termination form clearly says 3 June 2010! It is quite obvious that the problem lies in their inefficiency, and it is simply unacceptable for TM to inconvenience the client because of its staffs' incompetence.

I have always stuck to TM because whenever I called them to fix my phone line, the personnel are usually very
helpful and friendly, services are also prompt. However, personnel in TMpoint Bukit Raja are simply rude and
unhelpful. My case has been going on for 3 months now and I have run out of patience.

As such, I would really appreciate it if you could look into this matter for me since all I've been doing so far seems
to be in vain. Here are some details about my Streamyx account: Streamyx Account no.: 20060276790309 login id: madelynt
