Return Policy
I wanted to return a hoodie with the original tag, but I lost the receipt. And I was told that because they didnt carry the product, they couldnt do the return for $6! This return policy is rediculous. Doesnt Target realize how many people don't shop there simply because of the rediculous return policy??

They need to change it and get layaway..

Discrimination
Today I went into a Target store to purchase several things one of which was a game for my daughter. When I arrived in electronics there were also two other laters their waiting to be helped. One of them looked for a sale associate and when he arrived he opened the case to get them a Wii Game and handed it to them. I asked him if he could help me and he opened another case for the Nintendo DS games. After looking at one, my daughter decided to get a Super Mario game. The sales associate held onto the game and then asked me if I would like to pay for it now or if I had some more shopping to do? I told him that I had some more shopping and he told me that I would have to pick it up at "Guest Services." I said, "I have to walk up to guest services and pick it up?" He told me that I could just go to the checkout stand and tell them that I needed it.
After this I looked at my oldest daughter and she looked said. We are African American and I can honestly say that this is the first time my 13 year old daughter has seen this type of behavior. I am saddened that I had to explain this to her and tell her that this does still exist. I wrote a complaint on a card but will this happen to someone else? And what was the reason that this little kid felt I needed to be treated like this?

Return Policy
I was trying to return 2 items that I had a receipt for and the receipt was expired. I understand your policy, but really don't agree with it. I have 4 children and am very busy and don't always remember to return things in a timely manner. I found these 2 items in my closet while reorganizing and wanted to get a store credit, so I could buy some baby formula from Target. My husband has just gotten a pay cut and formula is quite expensive, so I figured to return these items then I could get some formula for my baby. The customer service person was very short with me about returning the items and said I could not they were no longer in the system. Then I told her could I just leave them with her because I don't really need them, she said no that they cannot dispose of merchandise. I proceeded to throw the clothes in the garbage myself. I am very upset about this not only did I lose about $30 in merchandise but now I have to spend more money on formula which I hardly have the money for now. We fall in to the middle class category so we make just enough not to receive help from the government, but not enough to afford the things we need all the time. Targets return policy is hurting people in this working class of people. Also I already talked to your customer service dept by phone and got no sympathy from them. I told him that I spend alot of money at Target at least $200-$250 every couple of months. I told him that I was dissapointed in the return policy and that I was not going to continue shopping there and would let my friends know how unflexible there policies are even when it comes down to a family having a hard time in this economy. He seemed unfazed and told me he would hope I would rethink my decision about leaving the store. I have worked in customer service before nad have bent policies and bent over backwards for people to get there business back. I don't see Target as a family friendly store and will let everyone I know, know that. Thank you for listening and taking the time to read this letter. Please pass this on to upper managment or the people that write the return policies.

Can care less if they lose customers
Went to return an item at Target with receipt. I bought it less than 30 days.
They would not take it back and bad, bad customer service. Also, bought medicine that was tampered with. They also would not take that back.
I don't think it's such a great store anymore!

Doesn't like to give refunds
On December 1, 2008, I made an online purchase of an entertainment center which consisted of 1 table stand and 2 piers. The total price of these pieces of furniture was $941.74. That same evening I found a center at a different store that I like better. I called Target.com to cancel that order. They said that it was too late and the order was already out of the factory. They told me to refuse the order when it was delivered to my house and as long as the packages weren't opened I would receive a full refund. I did that. On the 13th of December there were 2 credits posted to my credit account. One was in the amount of $389.68 and the other was in the amount of $276.04. I called them on the 13th once I received an e-mail that said they had a problem with the 3rd refund. Mind you, I didnâ??t purchase these things separately; I purchased them all at the same time with the same credit card. When I called on the 13th I spoke with Keisha whom said that the remainder of the refund ($276.02) would be credited within 7-10 days. I checked my account and called on the 18th of December. The refund hadn't posted. I spoke with Jovan whom said he issued a refund and it should post in 3-5 business days. He did 2 separate refunds. The only 1 that went thru was the $21.03. Why that happened I don't know. On December 22nd I called again. I spoke with Monica she said to expect the amount owed with tax. I told her the only amount I was owed would be the $254.99. I waited until after Christmas and I called on the 29th. The person I spoke with that day also called Old Navy Visa because he said that the credit wasn't going thru for some reason. We were on 3-way and the ON rep said that there wasnâ??t any reason on their part that the refund wouldn't go thru. Needless to say, it did't happen that day either. I called again last Monday and the person I spoke with said that the system keeps rejecting it. They would have to do an investigation and I would hear back from them within 3 days, which would have been Thursday. I haven't heard from Target. It's as if they are refusing to refund my money, meanwhile this charge is still on my credit card.

Terrible experience
Three Go International tops I wanted were finally marked down to 30% off. Or so I thought. When I went to get rung up, the less-than-friendly cashier charged me full price for two of them and told me that they only mark down certain sizes. I asked to speak with a manager and she refused to listen to me.

I went to Guest Services and dealt with Krystal, who was equally rude and unwilling to hear my side of the story. She treated me like a liar when I insisted that there was a sign indicating that the items were all 30% off. She reiterated the fact that Target only marks down clothing of certain sizes and colors, depending on how well something sells. I have never heard of this ridiculous policy before. All the others stores I've went to mark down a certain item in all sizes and colors.

I have been a Target shopper for years, but in the past few years, especially at this Chicago South Loop store, I've received very bad customer service. I am no longer giving them my business. In an economy where money is tight, team members shouldn't display such negative attitudes and companies shouldn't have such ridiculous policies, as the consumer can easily go somewhere else where they are treated better. I was a big fan of the GO International lines at Target and was looking forward to the Alexander McQueen line in March, but they have permanently lost my business.

laid off
I was hired in November 2008, working as a instock team, working so hard, because a lot staff was very heavy. I just had a baby in September and I needed money for my two girls. I was coming every time they call me to come for help. My mom came from other coutry to help me with babysitting my kids so I can work whatever time. And in January they told me that I was hired for seasonal and they letting me go!!! Other people hired in the same time like me stayed. They didn't offer me any other job. Now is and of Fabruary and I'm sitting at home with my mom and my 2 years old and 5 months old making no money. Anyway they payed me only $8.50/hour !!! for such a hard work!!!
I think that's because they discriminating people from other countrys, and because manager is gay, I have nothing against but this one don't like woman, he just want you to lift heavy furnitures and other stuff without help and restock the whole store fast.
They proud of good scores in the district but everything is for show, especially when big bosses from headquarters coming pay a visit, they fixing the store for the 4 days before. You know that when customer press the red button/phone for help, someone have to come within 1 min, if not they loosing points, oterwise no one will come.
If someone looking for a job in Target I'm not recommending, they hiring people all the time because no one want to stay and no one getting enough hours (to many employees). Thay even hired new people when let me go. Total stupidity!!! Maybe because the HR Melisa is to young and unexperience with jobs and life, and how it is to have a family and raise children.

Awful experience
I bought 12 large square plates, 12 small square plates, 12 bowls and 12 mugs stamped on the bottom 'American Simplicity, Microwave and Dishwasher Safe China' from Target. They are not microwave or dishwasher safe. When I put them in the microwave, even if only for a few seconds, they become too hot to handle without an oven mitt. It is especially dangerous at this point as my 83 year old mother has moved in with us and I'm so afraid she will get burned. Also, the plates are all chipping in the same spot in the dishwasher. I expressed this to Target but got no assistance at all because it's been more than 90 days. These plates were beautiful, and when I bought them, I got rid of my other set, so now I have a beautiful set of plates that I cannot use. It seems to me that Target would be concerned with this issue because one of their products could result in physical injury. My family and I will never make another purchase at Target.

Awful experience
I work in a Target Garden center in Florida. I lead a crew of three. I got promoted to team lead just about a year ago and was transferred to a different store than the one I had previously worked at. Since being promoted I have found the conditions at this store to be inhumane to myself and my workers. And the way these conditions are handled at this store has caused me to have to pay out large amounts of money and both pain and suffering.

Target has a rule for garden workers, once you go out to the garden center you are not allowed to go back into the store and leave the garden registers unattended. You must have a replacement in order to visit the restroom or water fountain. You are supposed to get two 15 minute breaks a day and a 30 minute lunch. There is supposed to be a schedule for this. But rarely are the garden workers put on this schedule. And for the most part there is only one worker in the garden center for hours at a time. We are forced to hold our urine for hours and hours which has resulted in two painful bladder infections for myself. And the lack of being able to get water when needed ended up with me being hospitalized for extreme dehydration.

At the same time Target has dropped my benefits numerous times and I have had to pay out of pocket for these services. This is due to the HR's mistake of never updating my file after my promotion. I have called the Team member services and have been told that the mistake has been handled. But once again I have received a letter informing me I have no coverage. Yet still money is taken out of my check to cover the benefits that I supposedly don't have, and has been taken out all along. I am paying for a service for which I'm not getting. I have had to call and argue many times about this issue. And still I don't get the coverage I am entitled to as a team lead.

Also the conditions at this store are horrible. Both myself and my workers will make calls to the managers asking for a break, on a regular basis, we are told there is no one available to relieve us and when and if they do send someone to relieve us so we can use the restroom or visit the water fountain, it can take up to an hour or more and sometimes doesn't happen at all. Usually we end up waiting till the next garden worker comes in so we can use the restroom.

Every worker that works INSIDE the store is free to visit the restroom at any time and get drinks. But not the workers who work out in the hot Florida sun. My crew complains to me about the lack of concern Target has for its garden workers. And I see it first hand on a daily basis, and once again I'm sitting here with a painful bladder infection. This will require a doctors visit and a missed day of work. I will more than likely end up paying out of pocket $200 to $300 dollars for the doctors visit that should cost at the most $70 if I was covered under the benefits I pay for but apparently don't have again. And probably another $80 dollars for a bottle of antibiotics that should cost $25 at the most.

Target's treatment of its garden workers is pitiful to say the least. The are completely unconcerned with the conditions we work under. When we are out in the burning sun, thirsting, the managers and other workers are inside in the air conditioning in comfort. When we are out in the thirty degree weather in winter they are inside in the heat. We can beg for a break to get warm for 15 minutes and use the restroom and may or may not receive it. When we are out in the pouring rain they are inside and dry. Garden workers are largely forgotten about. And it has cost me missed work and money. I have been told that my job is in danger because of attendance. But these health issues are largely due to the way Target treats its garden workers. I want to keep my job. But I may need a lawyer in order to do so.

Unauthorized billing
Target had their Britax Marathon convertible carseats on their website advertised for $42.99 ( there was another Britax car seat listed for $59.99). I immediately placed my order. My order has since been canceled due to a 'pricing error' on their part. Target claims that if they list a price for less than what an item is worth then they have the right to cancel your order. I think this is an unacceptable company policy. They do not have to own up to the prices they advertise online. If this had happened in the store they would have had to honor this price to the customer. I was even sent a confirmation letter confirming my order and listing my shipment date. The next day Target sends me another email stating they are canceling my order and offering me the car seat for $279.99.
