Norton internet security does not work
Over the past two months i have had countless viruses make it through norton. contacted technical support and they said that it is not possible for their software to capture all viruses, i have been with norton for years and their early software, even if it did not recognize the code would at least quarintine the virus.

the first time i had a problem i switched out my hard-drive and contacted cudtomer support, and was told i had a hardware issue. i knew this to not be true as i am adept at pc platforms, so i purchased another virus program and installed taking care of the virus. i thought o/k i will just forget about it and life goes on.

about two weeks later my pc started freaking out, malicious pop-ups etc. so i loaded the other software, deleted the viruses, turned norton back on and contacted norton customer support. i was then told windows had to have all the latest updates installed. i told the person on the other end of the chat that if norton says secure on the cover page that means that windows automatic update is on and it is up to date.

now here is where my problem truly lies, the tech support person then asked me if i wanted to have a tech look at my pc and find out what is going on, i replied o/k and then that person asked me if we should continue, which sent up a red flag. i then asked was there a fee for the tech looking into the error and was shocked that they wanted to charge me $99.99 for a problem that clearly lies within their software.

here is another kicker, if their software says my machine is secure, and it is truly not, should i not be compensated in someway for my remaining subscription fee. i was told i could only get a refund within the first 60 days and i have paid for 2 years of subscription. you be the judge.

Scam billing
Credit Card was charged 39.99 for ANNUAL renewal on 05/01/08. Subscription expired on 09/02/08. Called phone # on CC statement, customer service in India answered and after an hour and a half of frustration I was able to prove that Symantec/Norton had screwed up and my subscription was extended by 365 days. Giving me approximately 90 free days. If my math is correct that values my time at $7.50 an hour.

Horrible customer service
Purchased Norton 360 v2.0 in Sept 2008. Product included protection for up to 3 PC's. Upon attempting to download to second PC, encountered numerous issues due to repeated backdoor attempts by Norton to "Sell" me the same product I had already purchased. My product key did not good. It took a lot of searching on the website to discover how I could accomplish this. I never found a number to call in for help with what should have been an easy solution. I will never again buy a product from this company

unsolicited Norton Product
I just received a notice from Symanteccs@digital river.com Stating that they are going to charge my credit card $ 59.99 for an order # 2095229938 that I suppose place on August 16 2008 for a product called Norton Internet Security 2008 windowXP/Xp Pro Vista.
I have not place that order and I dont authorize any charge to my credit card.
Due to that inconvenience I demand that you take my credit card number out of your files.

Annual subscription
I just paid for my annual subscription for the Norton Security System. They billed me 63.38 US dollars paid via credit card last July 24, 2008. Now they are flashing the sign that my annual subscription is due to lapse in 26 days.

I tried to contact the company but they require all sorts of requirements to be able to contact them.

Bad service
It becomes unregistered periodically and stops protecting my computer. This is a piece of software that I rely on to be ALWAYS working, and for it to stop working is a critical flaw. I used to be able to register it easily, but now it says that I can't register it because it is already registered. I tried calling customer service and was on hold for an hour before giving up. I also tried emailing them but could not find an email address. They have been difficult to get in touch with in the past. I've wasted too many hours with this product. (I also tried subscribing to the virus updates, and even that was unsuccessful!)

Unauthorized Credit Card Charge
Not only did Symantecs horrible software contribute to the overall demise of my last computer ( I finally uninstalled it when my system worked only without it) but now they have charged my credit card account without any prior authorization from me. I don't use nor have I used their softward in quite some time. I am currently on perpetual hold to get back my money that was to be used to pay other bills that are "REAL." Unbelievable. These people should be investigated thoroughly. Seems like this may be the only way they can survive the competition maybe... by floating off the dollars of others who actually loathe their software.

Charging for two accts and not canceling when directed to
I was charged for two accts when I ordered services. I emailed them immediately and asked them to cancel both charges. They did not.

wrong shipment
Gentleman from India installed Symantec 360 for me after learning I have Parkinsons disease and tat my hands don't work properly. Beforehand some mistakes were made in ordering which I assumed were cancelled after getting 360 installed!

Lo and behold my Mastercard, acct. no.5466 1600 0129 6258, was charged $69.98 and $64.54, reference nos. 3zsnmvoo and rtzzs000 respectively! I already have the 2008 update in the #360 series installed automatically for me and need to return and receive credit for the two items mailed to me!

Please confirm receipt of this explanation and authorize return of the two itrms in question! Thanks!
