Wes and Pamela McCoy
Why does Wes and Pamela McCoy always host together? Can't they host separately? Don't they know how annoying it is that they're always together? They must find a way to host without each other... It's codependency at it's worst with them!

Scam service
I purchased a Tiffany-style table lamp which is made of plastic instead of cut glass. I called on May 3 and no one answered at Customer Service. I was hung up on several times by people claiming to be supervisors at the order-taking area; no one would help by involving a Manager to find out if customer service was open. It was closed, but we kept being told that it was open -- but no one had any concern about finding a real person's number and calling to check. We wasted 2 1/2 hours in this endeavor.
Finally I reached "Daniel", PAL 6844, who said he would contact Customer Service but never did. He also said he would send me an e-mail but never did. Perhaps he believed he would and was told otherwise offline; more likely, this is policy at Shop NBC, placate the customer to get them off the phone, then forget any promise(s) you may have made.
I called again May 5 and was told that "there is a coating on the glass that makes it seem like plastic." I kid you not. A coating that makes plastic sound like glass when you tap it. A coating that makes glass light and easy to pick up like plastic. Yes, I was told, I am mistaken, this is glass. So what if there is no strain in picking up a large 16" diameter cut glass shade? It's glass, they'll tell you.
Returns?
They said that the clock started ticking on the 30 day window to return it when I ordered the lamp, not when I received it (which was April 7). Even though there is obvious fraud regarding the merchandise, that was not a circumstance under which they would make an exception. No, I am stuck with the lamp. Their concern that I received phony merchandise was exactly zero.
Zero.
They said if it's plastic, prove it. Go to a dealer, have them test it, tell us what test(s) were used, and sign a statement on their letterhead. Oh, they are ready for these calls. This request for proof is already scripted. People won't cart delicate lead-soldered items to a city (or across town) and pay to test their lamps when they know it's plastic, they will just give up. Their phone reps are aggressive and obviously accustomed to hearing about such commonplace experiences by their customers. They are well-trained to go toe to toe with them and do not make an effort to help; but they do go to great verbal lengths to claim they are making great efforts to be helpful. It's a joke.
The customer is always right? I believe their philosophy is 'there are plenty of potential customers out there to be duped, and we will find them.' I don't intend to be one of them, not by any stretch. Plastic is plastic. Avoid this lamp.

Don't use shopnbc
Called, emailed and wrote to Shopnbc to get them to pay shipping on a defective Acer lap top keyboard. When it arrived, the S and D keys did not work. They won't pay the lousy $20-25 to ship it back to be repaired or replaced. They'll pay to return the whole package, which is ridiculous and expense, but they won't pay for just the keyboard. Neither Acer nor shopnbc will pay! Poor customer service and it's not just the $$$, it's the principle of it. BAD!!

Shady credit card collections!
We purchased a flat screen TV from shopnbc, setting up a "flexpay/creditcard" account with them. the limit on the card covered one payment per month. TV was delivered. from day one had trouble with the sound and constant rebooting of digital cable. We immediately contacted shopnbc about the possible defect with the TV. at this point, they were helpful. we also told the "customer service" person that we may send the TV back if not satisfied. they gave us authorization to have a local toshiba tech t0 make a house call.
In the meantime, we received a notice from shopnbc that our new "credit card" from shopnbc was DENIED because we never called to activate it. we stated we would not make a single payment until the TV actually worked. The problem was with our AT&T digital cable, got the TV problem all straightened out, and were, and still are, happy with the television.
BUT... while all this was going on, we started our battle with shopnbc to pay for the TV. several different reps called at several different times demanding several different amounts of payments due "immediately". trying to figure out what was going on with the flexpay, and getting them to actually send a statement showing the status of the account was a huge exercise in frustration and futility.
All this took place within a 2 WEEK PERIOD. then the numerous rude harassing phone calls began from a mystery collections agency, CPC, began. Shopnbc sold our "delinquent" account after only 2 weeks!!! During these 2 weeks, we tried several times to arrange payments like we agreed to at the time of sale. This CPC i called Mysterious" because they refuse to send a statement/invoice, have no address, and only will communicate by phone and fax. any out there think this is NOT shady? We are still dealing with this... shopnbc dead ends us every time we call, and refuse to give us any information about this CPC, this so-called "collections agency" that has all the earmarks of a scam from overseas.
Hell will freeze over before i by so much as an apple from shopnbc, and i tell everyone i know about it.

Poor overall experience!
(1)They don't disclose 'value pays' (which the hosts use heavily to promote sales) on a zero balance long-time open charge card with a five * credit history will be declined if they so choose based on them checking your credit with Equifax. Equifax has my credit history messed up again (it's been about four times this has happened and it's still incorrect with six calls to them today to find someone that could figure out what to do - they couldn't even find me in their system!) which I think caused SHOPNBC to decline my relatively small purchase - therefore the call to find out why I was declined. It took a WEEK for a SHOP NBC form letter to arrive telling me (my confirmed purchase) would no longer be honored. The item is long gone and was a one-time 'super' ? good price (2) They also show online that you can ship a jewelry purchase to a PO Box (my choice as we're rural and don't receive mail at home). However, their online order form defaults and removes the PO Box at the end (when you can't stop it) which it's obviously a jewelry purchase. (I was later told you can only order this way 'live' via phone never online.) Shippers don't ring my bell, just leave merchandise out on my porch in the country and I'm not always home. I will NEVER shop with them again and advise strongly against anyone else doing so. Their service departments were rude and nasty no doubt because they work for such a poor company and receive multiple complaints daily.

Buyer beware!
I purchased a tv from shop nbc when i received it was defective. I was told i will receive instructions in the mail on how to return the product. When i called Shop NBC to confirm the instruction i was giving different instruction to use a shipping company i was not familiar with netless to say 2months later my tv is sitting in the shippers warehouse in MN. Shop nbc says although i was giving the wrong information i should of follow the instruction that was mail to me. Now i have $500 storage fees And $400 shipping fees. I contacted everyone BBB DCA FTC and nothing. I even tried to go to small claims court but i cant file because they are in another state. This is such a sad story, who was it that said the customer is always right? I guess big company with large budgets can afford to take advantage of little people like me. I just want them to pay for the fees occurred due to their representative's mistake! But i guess i am on my own. So buyer beware, go to a reputable store and make any big purchases.

My worst experience!
Against Shop NBC, my worst experience! I purchased a 56 Inch HD television from Shop NBC on 1.19.06 for 2,200.00 and was promised delivery In 2 weeks. After I spent numerous time on the computer trying to track where the television was from California to Massachusetts I never got a definite answer. I finally received the T.V at the end of February. Not unpacked as promised to see If any damage and almost not brought Into the house by the delivery people. Exactly 1 yr later the T.V. no longer worked. I called and spoke with numerous people both at Shop NBC and the (Corp) of Vivitek T.V. Finally I was told that It may be the color wheel which will cost me $800.00. I was told It was no longer under warranty which Is a year from the date I purchased It. (NOT FEBRUARY) when actually received. I was told the warranty should of been purchase at the time of sale. They don't issue extended warranty. Not knowing what next to do I called comcast thinking It might be the box. Someone came out and stated no It was the TV. So next I purchased the lamp from Vivitek which cost me 200.00 and was told I had 30 days to return It. I rec'd the lamp after 14 days , tried It finding this was not the problem. I called them again and was told I had 14 days to return It, not 30. Even though It took 14 days to get to me. I was told not to use the return label that came with the lamp to return . I had to pay postage and Insurance on it in case It broke somehow. Which at this point I wasn't playing any games. I sent It back the very next day and received to a call 7 days later reminding me not use the return label. I told the guy It was mailed a week ago. I sent In a consumer complaint which was never acknowledged by the company and also had a legal attorney following up on this. Here we are In June 20, 2007 and I am looking at a blank 56 Inch high definition TV that I can't even watch. Shop NBC doesn't stand behind there products and the company that makes the Television likes to play games and brush you off. I will never buy another Item from Shop NBC and advise anyone who reads this doesn't either. I would like to take a bat to my television just to release the frustration It has caused me. I now have a tech coming to look at It locally stating It may cost 200.00 - 300.00. I wish I purchased the TV locally at a reputable store.
