Unauthorized Charges
Ordered $2.00 for initial free trial to pay shipping only for tea bags, with 30 days to cancel. The next day, I was charged $38.95, then the next day after that, my account was charged again for 2 charges of $38.95 each. This was not supposed to be charged until 30 days later "IF" I didn't cancel the account. I cancelled immediately after I saw the 3 charges on my account, and its now over 30 days later and I still do not have the refund. This is a total scam, do not order or try anything with this company.. I have called 3 times and yet to get any action on my account. I did receive one order, never opened it and sent it immediately back, since they never advertised the actual prices of their shipments, not to mention, I never got the free order that I paid $2.00 for!!! I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau, and there reply was, do what you have to do... great scam and they know it ! ( I wonder how many people actually go through all this to get their money back?)

Unorthorized Charges
Like so many others I was duped! I thought I was buying and single pound of coffee for 4.99 but Seattle Coffee Direct denied my credit card. You can imagine my shock when I received more than 14 lbs in 2 weeks! I returned every grain only to discover Seattle Coffee had no record of the coffee being returned. I'm still fighting it and will continue to do so. By the way, they charged my credit card nearly $300!

Unauthorized charges
I am experiencing similar problems as the ones posted in regards to this company and it's product. I keep recieving and getting billed for items that I am not ordering. There was a phone number listed to call the company on my credit card statement, but when I tried to call it, it was no longer in service. Rather then give up I tried again thinking that I may have dialed the wrong number but came up with the same results. I would like to get in contact with this company in order to stop any further orders without my approval. If anyone knows how to contact them please let me know. I wish that I had found this site and seen all of the complaints before I initially ordered from them.

overcharging
I ordered advertised samples and two days later I was charged $39.00 and a few cents. I was never given a chance to sample the products and make my decision about further purchases. When I called the company to get some information I was treated rudely and before I was able to ask questions and get answers I was told my membership was cancelled. Even if I wanted to purchase coffee from Seattle Direct it is too expensive : almost $40.00 for 2 small bags. I had to destroy my credit card and have a new issued.

get your money back!
Just a note to let everyone know that despite the fact that Seattle Coffee Direct REFUSED to refund my money on the phone, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and SCD decided to give the money back. You can submit a complaint through the BBB and they work directly with the company for you.

Good luck!

Waste of Time and Energy
Okay so I thought I was the only one who has going or is currently going through this. At first, the online deal seemed great, a five for $5 promo...I even read the fine print but then my card was billed three times, two for coffee and a monthly membership I DID NOT AGREE TO!

Then, to make matters worse, getting the refund back has been a bitch!.. Excuse the language but you get the point. I sent both unrequested orders back at the same time on the same day I am still having to call back to find out when my account will be credited. I just want to get this off my to do list. I went on line today just to varify that I am using the correct number and if I am not mistaken its a completely different number. The so called refund that should have posted as no been delayed even more. All in all it isn't so much about the money however, no part of this has been a great experience.

I support companies that are trying to make it however, make it a good experience otherwise get out of business! YOU SUCK!!!

refusal to refund unauthorized charges
I made a mistake and responded to a promotional offer for 2 bags of coffee and two mugs for $2.00. I received this and a day later was hit with another charge of $38.95 on my credit card. I called to get a refund and was told they had already shipped out a big package. I was told to refuse the package and they would refund my card. That was on 08/17/09. On 08/19/09 I refused the package and it was returned. Today I get a statement and no only did they not refund, they billed me again for $38.95. I called and was told they had it "in process" and I should see a refund for the second order and they would refund the first one when my box turned up in their warehouse. What a rip off. I don't believe I will ever see a refund from this scam company and will be disputing the charges via my card company.

Rip off
Seattle Coffee Direct will scam you out of lots of money! You think you're purchasing a couple of bags of coffee for $25.00 and the next thing you know, they're charging your credit card $38.95 EVERY WEEK!!! Who can drink that much coffee???

I ordered 2 bags of coffee for $25.00 (which is a ripoff in itself now that I think about it) and in 4 days, they've charged my credit card $155.80 and I've only received 2 bags of coffee!!!

STAY AWAY FROM SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT!!! I have called them 3 or 4 times and have sent 3 emails and they continue to charge my account $38.95 every week. They say it's a weekly coffee club. WHO CAN DRINK THAT MUCH COFFEE???? I LOVE COFFEE AND I CAN'T!!!

I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and my bank is going to send me fraud papers and dispute forms.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SEATTLE COFFEE DIRECT!!! IT IS A SCAM!!!

Rip Off
They get you in and then they change all info and won't refund your money says it takes 30 days then you call back and they say it takes 60 days then you call back and it takes 2 more weeks they just mess with you hoping you'll forget about it. You're also supposed to be 100% satisfied but they do nothing to rectify it if you are not. This place needs to be put out of business. Don't get suckered in. Help put this place out of business. LESSON LEARNED!!!

terms and conditions Ha!
This is a business that appears to be reputable but are far from it. I signed up for a trial offer and paid the set up fee for (2) 12 oz. bags of Seattle Coffee w/free gift. I received my first shipment with the gift which were very cheap stainless steal (intended) travel mugs. 4 days later I received 2 more bags. 4 days later 2 more bags until I had amassed 8 12oz bags of coffee. while the coffee was good but nothing special, even I an avid coffee drinker could not possibly consume so much coffee in such a short amount of time and shame on the criminal who would shove that much of their product down my throat during a trial offer.

I called them immediately and cancelled the trial and was told to return the unwanted coffee by simply writing refused on the package and return to sending. If you are familiar with UPS you know that this is not an acceptible form of shipping unwanted items as the tracking numbers need to be re-established in the UPS system for processing. I packaged 6 bags of coffee in my own box and entered the shipment in the UPS systems and paid for the return shipping while refusing to accept the last of 6 shipments. I ended up keeping 3 bags of coffee. That was in April 2009.

I had to wait 30-days before I could dispute the charges on my Discover Card and was pleased to see that Discover gave me a credit pending their investigation. I waited and waited and still no reply from Seattle Coffee or Discover. I emailed Discover and was told that I would have to take up my complaint with the vendor as the charges met Discover Cards guidelines for merchants who accept their card. The charges were then placed back on to my account with finance charges for the time removed from outstanding balance causing my account to go over my limit and I was charged an over the limit fee but was able to get that reversed. It was about the only consideration given to me by Discover Card. When I disputed the charges again with full documentation and tracking on the returned items, Discover Card still sided with Seattle Coffee. I have email Seattle Coffee and have yet to see a response regarding a credit or refund.

In looking at their website I now see in the fine print that the company will only issue a store credit and only if the return is made within 30 days of receipt.

I have two warnings for you all. DO NOT TAKE ANY OFFER FROM A SURVEY EMAIL WITH SEATTLE COFFEE OR APPLY FOR A DISCOVER CARD as they are both businesses that do not have the customer's satisfaction as a top priority. Seattle Coffee is out to get as many sales as possible to increase their bottom line and have instructed their customer services reps to be very rigid with returns. Undoubtedly a tactic to get the employee job security and a weekly pay check. Discover will take the side of the vendor as they have met the necessary requirements with their charges and will not stand by the consumer even with documentation proving the order(s) were returned. I was told that Discover's investigation was complete and that was that.

I am out $139.90 plus UPS shipping plus finance charges tacked on each month by Discover. I have filed a claim with Discover card using my account protection plan under the involuntary termination clause and the account has been placed on hold so I am not incurring additional interest on the shipments but I will not pay the charges and will close my Discover account upon the end of the two claim period and would not recommend Discover Card to any one. The "vendor is always right and the consumer is lying" must be the latest customer service mantra for Discover Card. I am so disappointed with Discover Card as they have been very helpful in re-establishing my credit score over the past 10 years. I hate that they let me down.

So beware. If an offer sounds too good to be true then it probably isnt that good and Seattle Coffee has left a very, very, bitter taste in my mouth. Truck stop coffee would probably taste better. I am filing a BBB report on both Seattle, Metro, and Discover Card for these shady business practices and may even file in small claims court to get my money back.
