I am done dealing with Sears!
Sears in Virginia. They have now done me in for the last time. First thing they did wrong: I bought a stand up freezer from them years ago. It was delivered with 2 big holes in the bottom sides of it, looked like they hit it with a forklift. Had to wait 2 weeks to get another one and not in the color I wanted. They didn't have what I wanted in stock, it was on backorder, so I would have to wait even longer to get it. Second thing they did wrong: Bought a washing machine. It was delivered and didn't work. Waited 2 weeks for the washer to be delivered in the first place, and they wanted me to wait 2 more weeks for a repairman to come out and fix a new washer. After the delivery guy told me that they would have someone out that day. They didn't tell me I would have to wait 2 weeks until 3 hours later. I went to Lowe's and bought a new working washer that night. Told Sears to pick up their broken washer. I should have stopped there, but I didn't. Third thing they did wrong: Bought a riding lawn mower for the husband as a gift. They delivered it and left it in the middle of my driveway, in the box. They were supposed to put it together for me. Do you see a pattern here? I'm a forgiving person, but this is out of hand. Forth and final thing they did wrong: Wanted an estimate for heating and air conditioning unit. They refused to talk with me without my husband present. They said it was their policy to not talk to a husband or wife separately, but only together for things like this. They didn't want to waste their time and offered to come back later in the evening or when we both could be there. After leaving me feeling insulted, they had the nerve to call and try to reschedule. On this forth one, I have always done this for my husband. When it's time to replace something big (over $2,000) I get the information needed. We will later talk about it and make a decision together. I did explain this to them, but they didn't seem to understand it. Most households now days have 2 working people and it's hard for the 2 of them to be home at the same time during the work week. I don't know about most people, but I know that we have always been able to do this without any problems. I am done dealing with Sears all together. They have lost my business and I will be sure to let everyone I know not to go there. Would someone please tell me what has happened to good customer service?
