We went to Sears to buy a new washer and dryer. We were given quite the sales pitch on the new front loading washers. We purchased the Kenmore HE2plus washer and matching dryer. We were assured of a delivery date, before we left the store. Then they called and said no we would have to wait. O.K. Nice things are worth waiting for.
A few months later the washing machine quit on us. It took two weeks for the repairman to get out to see what was wrong. Of course the washer started working. He said there was no problem, although he didn't take anything apart to look at it. Oh well hmm kind of like that noise the car makes when no one else is around? I put in a load of laundry as soon as he pulls out of the driveway. Of course it quits midway through the cycle. I quickly call the service department to see if he can come back. Of course they don't call me back. When I call they say maybe he can order a part before he comes back. What part? How would he know what to order if he didn't think there was any problem. The repair guy calls me late that evening to say we should just get a new one. This was 10 days ago. They called and said we couldn't have a new one until all the paperwork was prossesed. Still no return calls. They just give us the run around. I don't get it they have our money and we have a washer that doesn't work.
I happen to work in a customer service position where I serve clients to earn the money I make in order to purchase the things we need. I understand that things can go wrong and products can be defective, but good customer service can make a less desirable situation better and customers can be retained. No one will call us back so now we will need to go to the store. Sears people if you are out there and you are reading this. It is never too late to make things right.
