For my family vacation, this year, we decided to spend a week at Sea World San Antonio. We had our days planned per the hours listed on the website, and the showtimes.
So when we arrive at Sea World, at 9am to get a good parking spot, and get in line to enter the park, we were ready to go. We entered the park at about 9:30am. The park officially opened at 10am, so we were ok with not being able to get into the main parts of the part, until then.
Well, at 10am they let people into the main parts of the park and we head in, only to be told that we can't get to the rides until 11am (this is not posted anywhere), that two of them don't even open until noon (again, not posted anywhere), and that one of them doesn't open till 2pm (why would a ride not open until 2pm when the park closes at 6pm???)...
Well, we decided that that just ruined that part of our trip, so we decided to head over to the water park. Almost everything was open there, except for the slide that uses the large multi-person floats. This one never opened, and I was told by the person blocking the entrance that it could possibly open if they could get some more lifeguards (why they needed more life guards, when there was about 4 just standing around at that gate, not doing anything, I don't understand...)
Well, we decided to go ahead and try to see the believe show, before we left. We walked over and found a bench in the shade (seemed like we found the only one in the entire park), until they people blocking entrance to the show said that it was about to open at a different entrance. We walked over to that entrance, with everyone else, and had to stand in the hot sun packed in like cattle, for about 30 minutes. While about 15 feet ahead of us there was a lot of shade from the trees, which they person blocking our entrance said we couldn't get into. If you are going to make people stand around for long periods of time before getting into the shows, at least let them stand in the shade.
All of this, along with the rude employees we encountered, has factored into the fact that I will never return to a sea world location again. This was the worst vacation I have ever taken. For $60 a person + parking, you should be a little more accommodating to your guests.
