Owe money on a closed account
I had an account with Regions Bank about 5 years ago. I closed the account, and they even paid me off because I still had money with them. Well, about a few weeks ago, I've started getting calls from a collection agency called E. R. Solutions. They're berating me and just plain rude.
I talked to Regions and after pulling up old checks to find my account number and whatnot, they verified that I used to have an account with them. They also say that I owe them money. When I asked them what charges were on the account, they say that they can't tell me how the account went into overdraft. That's stupid. They expect me to pay them without knowing what I"m paying for exactly.
They refuse to talk to me and keep telling me to talk to E.R. Solutions, who are just as unprofessional. I've typed up a letter to send to E.R. Solutions. I'm going to mail it to them. The lady said that it could be a regular letter, but I'm going to send it Certified Mail. Where do I go from here? I'm not going to pay for an obvious mistake on the bank's side.

Unauthorized Fees
I have a Money Market Checking account with Regions. I opened for the purpose of setting aside money to purchase a home with the ability to easily access the funds when needed. Having purchased a home I began using the money I had previously deposited in the account.
I found that at the end of the statement cycle, Regions charged me $420.00 for a "Excess Activity Fee". Upon inquiring with the Branch, they informed me that my transaction was limited to 6 transactions per month. This was not communicated to me when I opened the account, nor when I ordered checks or the check card tied to the account. However, Regions charged me $15 for every time I used my account. Note: These are not charges for overdrafts as I had plenty of funds to cover all of the transactions. Further instead of charging them one at a time as I conducted the transactions which would have alerted me to the issue much earlier, they waited until the end of the statement period to charge them all at once.
I have spoken with Branch personnel as well as national customer service and they have all claimed they lack the authority to assist me, but have been unable to let me speak with someone who does have the authority to help me.
I want the $420 returned to me and my account permanently closed. I feel that this activity is unethical and shameful.

Fraud, Malpractice & Identity Theft
Regions Bank exists by misleading customers, malpractice and facilitating identity theft. They knowingly allowed my father to steal my identity (among others) by opening up multiple accounts without my knowledge, they mislead on the terms and conditions on my checking account I had with them. My boyfriend and I opened a joint account and only required my signature to close the account, and when I asked them why the didn't need my boyfriends signature they replied, "We recognize him, we know who he is, no need." So I would assume that there is still an account opened in his name although we were under the impression it is closed. I had transfers from my savings account, that I never made, that didn't have any tracking numbers. If you are a thief, Regions will provide you with all the necessary tools to be successful.

Taking Money from Accounts
I have had an account with Regions for years and after a few rude associates and tellers I decided to bank elsewhere. Rather than close my free checking account I kept $40 in the account and never touched it. Fast forward 4-5 years later I get a notice of an overdraft fee of $3.39 on an account of which I haven't touched in years. Come to find out that somewhere along the way Regions did away with there free checking account and had been charging me a monthly fee of $5.00 of which they took out of my account for it being less than a daily balance of $1000.00. At no point was I ever contacted that this account was being switched from a free account to an account where I had to keep a certain dollar amount or be charged. Now I get a bill saying I owe them money-that is just ridiculous-I tried to find a complaint number or email address online-no luck there either but anyone banking with them or thinking of banking with them-DON"T run the other direction they mis represent themselves and can change their minds at a moments notice and start taking your money.

ATM Deposit Not Applied to Account
Last night, a Region's ATM took my cash deposit but didn't apply the money to my account. I called the bank this morning and they don't have any knowledge of the transaction. Apparently, Brinks owns the ATMs. When there is an issue a TECHNICIAN retrieves the money and transfers it to Region's sometime later. So who are we really giving our money to? Its now 10:37am and no one knows anything??? The representatives have no record of the transaction and they don't even know who to contact in order to find out. One of the last people they connected me with was in WEB Support. What does the website have to do with ATMs? Bottom line, DON'T deposit your money into an ATM.

Bait and switch
Long lasting, loyal customer of Regions Bank. I received a pre-approved equity line of credit for a primary or secondary loan. Called and the loan was approved. I spent $53, 000 on condo upgrades. $24, 000 cash and the rest on personal lines of credit. I enter Regions Bank to collect my equity line check only to be denied with no reason given. Lawyers agree there is a case but will not take the case due to Regions size. So, justice will be served in an uncivil manner. Stealing will not be tolerated by me nor should anyone allow it.

Dishonest business practices
Regions bank robs the poor to feed the rich! They are dishonest, self-serving thieves. Even when you can PROVE that they have stolen from you, they STILL don't concede and fix the problem. They stack the rules against you so that they can make money by screwing you over. DO NOT bank with Regions if you can help it!

Steals money
Regions bank stole $105 from my account for NSF charges while they sat on a $25K deposit for 9 days. They offered me $35 of the stolen money for my trouble. I have nothing but time. I will post on every site I can find and put up a sign on property I own near the Regions branch in St. Amant, La. to warn everyone about Regions bank robbery tactics. Save your money, bank somewhere else. This site wants 100 words but I already summed it up...stay away from Regions Bank or throw your money away. Either way you'll never see it again.

Legalized Fraud
Well, Regions when I thought companies couldn't get any lower?
Regions bank has more excuses and more ways of charging for over draft fees, NSF fees...etc, but yet you see these happy commercials, where people have trust in Regions, shaking a can! The jokes on us PEOPLE, the can is THERE money. These banks are pure scams. I wish I had the means to file a class action suit against these money scamming banks. They have asked for bail out money, which they received. Now, they are fining new ways of ripping the public off. Isn't it funny, that if you use your debit card, the money is withdrawn ASAP, or it's denied? But you put money into your account and it has to go through this "BULLSHIT" process? Or, it won't be deposited because it's after 2pm. even though it cash? What a SCAM!!!
The other day my daughter transferred money into my account, from one regions acct to another. That evening I observed the transaction in my account. the weekend passed, Monday passed the money goes back in her account then on Tuesday evening my daughter called and asked me if I put the money is back in her acct. I called Regions the next day the 1-800 number, Regions gave me excuses about it was done at 4pm, therefore it won't be deposited until the next business day. Isn't that Monday? Well, Wednesday rolls around the deposit was made, after they deducted there fees, but yet I was able to withdraw money from account when their wasn't enough to cover the transaction? From the ATM?
This type of banking is the result of " Obamaomics". Which the government now controls these banks and anything goes. Before, if you didn't have the money you can't spend what you don't have.
What I learned through this process, is that every morning I need to print out my account balance, because the next day it will read differently...Isn't it funny when you argue the point in the branch office, the person you talk to doesn't believe what they are forced to say?
REGIONS YOU SUCK.. LEGALIZED EXTORTION AT IT'S BEST..I would rather the banks just put a gun to my head and just take my wallet, at least I can justify the incident.
