No gas card as promised
We agreed to receive a $100 gas card for a simple demostration. WEll thats what the Rainsoft people said on the phone before they came over. The guy went on for 2 hours! I couldn't take it anymore so I asked how much it was going to cost. He came up with the price $15, 000 but would give it to us for $12, 000. Crazy! I of course said no and he grabbed all paperwork and stuff and threw it in his briefcase and walked out. My husband and I felt like we just got punked. A few days later a rep. for Rainsoft called to drop the price to $5, 000 and we said no. I told the rep I just want the giftcard that was promised to us. She said the guy who gave the demonstration was dissappointed that he took the time come by our house and we didn't buy anything. I told them I could care less. They said Home Depot would be mailing soon. Well its been 3 months and no gift card. BEWARE!!

Rip Off
Rain Soft is the biggest rip off on the market, I paid $5, 000.00 for a well system it has never worked and every 2 months we ar paying for service calls of $130.00 to fix their system due to timmers breaking and parts not working, They will not give you any manules to help you troubleshot the system yourself. After a 2 year period we have spent over $900.00 to fix the system that was under warrenty. Please do not get their system RUN!!! Their is no help from the service center or any back up.

Sales pitch
Rain Soft called multiple times in an effort to schedule a meeting with sales rep. Finally we had a mutual time and we met. On the confirmation call I asked the lady how long the meeting would take, she said one half to three quarters of an hour fair enough. (Had somewhere to be ) The Guy shows up at 10 till six not six my son calls says he needs a ride at 6:45 I tell him we should be about done right ? No!! We're only about half way through the pitch 55 minutes so far, we tell the guy we'll have to continue at a later date. He hesitantly agrees . Forgoing the $20 gift card to Home Depot ( It's not worth it ) I call him back the next night and tell him to cancel next meeting. He starts in with, "But I didn't get to show you this...", oh well. Shame on Home Depot for allowing telemarketers in their store, Shame on Rain Soft for lying to prospective customers And finally shame on me for believing a telemarketer

INTRUSIVE AND RUDE
STAY AWA Y FROM THIS COMPANY - RAIN SOFT!!! RUDE SALESMEN, TACKY PRESENTATION, AND WHO KNOWS IF WHAT THEY SHOW IS EVEN THE TRUTH. I WAS OFFENDED AND TOLD THE GUY SO, HE IMMESDIATELY INSULTED ME TO HIS "TRAINEE" AND THEY LEFT. SHAME ON HOME DEPOT FOR BEING IN CAHOOTS WITH THESE NEGATIVITY!!!

Hidden fees
When I purchased my Rain Soft home water filtration system back in 1999 I was never told that every 2-3 years someone would have to come out and "service the system". What they actually mean by that is charge you $84.95 to come out and take out the old tanks (new ones will cost you $99.95) and replace a filter under your sink ($85.00). When I purchased this system I thought it would only cost me the original $5,000 (approximately) and that was it, guaranteed for life. Yeah right. I made a service call because one of the tanks was leaking only to be told I should have been contacted 6 years ago (and every 2 years thereafter) to switch out tanks and then got all the other explanation. Of course their solution for the unanticipated costs were to take $41 off of the total of $291.34 to come out and fix their fault product. I don't recommend buying this product. It is very costly and then more cost to the buyer every 2 years, not to mention the salt you have to add to the tank about 1-2 times a month at an additional $10 cost. If you do decide to get this product, good luck, very costly, bulky and hidden fees.

No one there cares if tank leaks!
I came home and one of the tanks are leaking on the upper side, unable to shut it off to keep it from leaking. My wife called the "customer service" number if you can call it that. They never decided to call us back and just go home or something, because no one else answered after that. The water is running under my house as it leaks, it will not be long before I have a pond under there. Which is not going to help the kitchen drain that they cracked during installation. Then we have the coupons for groceries and other services that you have to pay to receive, or the free vacation. Tried calling the line for the free vacation in the middle of the day, must have been taking a ciesta, because no one was answering the phones for that one. Maybe they were just giving out free vacations for the one caller they picked up the phone for. I don't know. I do know that the product is not worth the money. Their soaps , they also gave a 5 year supply of soap, in which I received, which may not actually last the five years, is no where near as strong as an actual cleaner. The whole unit, which was made to sound like it was much smaller, is plastic and bulky and not built as good as it needs to be. I totally makes my back patio look awful gawdy and there is not that big of a difference in the water quality itself. I think this is some crack junk someone is out saling, otherwise they would not be trying to give away all of this "free"stuff to get you to take it. I would love it if they would just come get this thing and put it where it belongs, in the GARBAGE. Needless to say it is not worth the $8,000.00 i spent on it.
