Purchased a rebuilt Mercruiser 454 Marine engine with a 2 year unlimited hours warranty. The engine failed after 6 hours of use due to salt water intrusion.
I called the owner Stan at Power Source and he transferred me to the supposed warranty department that ended up to be a engine shop in Philadelphia.
The rep from the engine shop advised me to pull the engine and they would set up transportation to get the engine.
The engine was removed 2 weeks later and when I called for a pick up date they were out of buisness.
I immediatley called Stan at Power Source and he advised me that my warranty was with the engine shop that was no longer in buisness and that he would not honor my warranty.
I advised Stan that this option was never discussed at time of purchase as all buisness was conducted over the telephone.
I also advised Stan that the paymant was made to Power Source and not an alternate engine shop.
Stan said he would look into this matter and return my call.
This never happened.
Upon further call he said that he would only refund the profit that he made from the sale of the of three hundred dollars. This never happened.
Further calls were made to Stan at Power Source and he would hang up the phone.
This rebuilt engine cost three thousand dollars and lasted six hours.
I believe that I have been dealt a wrong deal from Power Source and would like to see a refund.
After this incident Power Source updated their website to hide a disclamier on the warranty saying that it is covered by the engine builder.
This was never disclosed to me at time of purchase.
