Unsolicited service fee (Laurentel)
Miscellaneous charges & tax on said charge for Laurentel setup fee of $8.94 dated Apr. 27 included on my Verizon phone bill. I have no idea what these charges are for & ask that they be removed ASAP.
Thank you.

Never requested serivices
I received my most recent phone bill and noticed a charge $16.30 for a service I never subscribed to or use. I called OAN Services and they said I was subscribed to Green Tree services and they had my email address. I informed them that I never requested or subscribed to any service that they may have regardless of the fact thast they had my email address.
They cancelled my service at my request but I still got billed for a sesrvice I did not request. I also have two other companies that billed me for services that I did not request. This is truely unethical business practices. OAN Services said that they cancelled my service as of today. I will check my next phone bill.

Slamming!
On 8 Apr 2009, I opened my Verizon phone bill to discover that I had been signed up for "gold web hosting" services from aDigital Village.com for $12.95/month plus state taxes -- news to me! I had never heard of this company before. Right there on the bill, it says that "OAN Services is the clearninghouse agent for aDigital Village.com"
I called aDigital Village right away. It was a little after 8 AM Eastern time. I didn't expect to get through to a human. The voice mail system offered me the option of canceling the account -- without even talking to a human. The phone system knew the number from which I was dialing. I only had to confirm the phone number, then press "1" for yes. It was that easy. Odd. Usually, companies make it harder than that to close an account. You usually have to talk to a human who tries to convince you to stay with the company.
I had to wait for 9 AM to call Verizon. They could not do anything to remove the charge. But the guy offered me this advice: when I call the other company to cancel, be sure to get the confirmation number.
The second time I called aDigital Village, later the same day, I chose the tech support option. The human who answered confirmed that the account had been canceled. She said that she would take the charges off my phone bill. She gave me a cancellation number. She said it might take one or two billing cycles to get the charge removed. I have automatic bill payment, so I'm going to try to get the fraudulent charge taken off before the next automatic deduction. I will call the phone company and give them the cancellation number, in case it makes any difference in the speed of removal.
Incidentally, another slamming incident occurred right around this time, so I had already asked to have a "third party lock" put on my telephone account, so perhaps things like this won't be happening again to me.

phone services
I have been charged for the last 4 (four) months for charges from this company. I have NEVER heard of them nor have I ever game them permission to charge anything to my telephone bill. When I called their # (800-944-9646), it tells me to call another # in which I will be charged an ADDITIONAL $5.49!!! (NO, I did not call the other # given!!) How am I suppose to get this stopped and get credit for all these charges????

Fraudulant phone charge
A charge for $14.95 appeared on my AT&T phone bill. The phone is just a fax line and not used for any other purpose. The charge is simply a rip.

Phone billing scam
I recently received charges on my Centurytel Phone bill that was suppose to be for an E-Mail host from this OAN Services, Inc. (scam company). I do not have internet on this phone line. I know that these are fake charges. I called Centurytel and they told me I had to pay these charges or my phone services would be turned off. They did send a complaint in, but I they would not block these charges from reappearing on my bill each month. They told me they had nothing to do with this company, but they have to collect the money for this company. That does not make sense to me. If this continues with my phone service provider I will be forces to disconnect my services, I can not afford to pay scam charges each month.

Spurious charges!
A charge showed up on our Verizon telephone bill for $7.14 as a directory assistance call placed on 12/20/06 to 101-515-8000. This call was never placed and in fact there are several complaints on the internet about this scam company. I will be calling Verizon tomorrow. They should obviously know about this bogus company as this, from what I've read, has been going on for some time. I also will contact the FCC.
Be sure and read your phone bill thoroughly!
