NJ Elite Movers Reviews

GREAT MOVERS
I contacted NJ Elite moving when making a move for an office transfer from Morris town to Edison. After contacting several places I decided to choose this company. From start to finish this company took care of all my worries. They were on time and had all the necessary means to assist me in making a smooth transition from city to city. Friendly service and hard working staff to which I would recommend to anyone who is stressed out about moving and uncertain of which company to use. Thanks again to the staff from NJ Elite for making this hectic move as easy as possible!

honesty
I honestly don't know what those bad reviews are talking about. Maybe it is just their competitors that are scared of the competition. NJ Elite Movers have been a great help in this stressful time of moving. No hassles, nothing broke, and they actually showed up when they were supposed too & WERE ON TIME. THANK YOU Elite movers!!!

Absolute misrepresentation. Fraudulant and Malpractices
My moving (and the worst experience ever) happened on 19th Feb 2011. I confirmed the move with them on 17th Feb based on an email from NJ Elite. They gave me quote of $65 per hour including 3 packers and 1 foreman and a 32 feet truck. The quote was for 3 hrs and I was clearly told over the phone, by Tina, that since the company HQ is in Sayreville and my moving is also in Sayreville, they would not charge me anything for the return trip.
However, a day before the move, I called them again to cancell the move as I read a lot of negative feedbacks about this company. Over that call, I was assured by Tina that none of the bad episoded would happen with me and things will be smooth. So finally we went ahead with the transaction on 19th Feb 2011.
All in all, I was given a quote of $300 and I ended up paying $12oo or otherwise they would not release my belongings. By the way, I had packed all my major stuff in boxes and had only left the 50 inch TV for them to pack. I had also moved about 60% of my stuff on my own as I was moving in a 1 mile radius.
This is how the fraud starts: The head guy made me sign the canellation policy before actually explaining anything about the move and while I am signing the document(s), the other 3 packers have alredy started to move the stuff. So now if I object on anything, the head guy threatens me with the cancellation policy and tell me to stop the move and pay the cancellation fee of $250.
Also the team of movers and specially the foreman starts packing everything that is unnecessary with lots and lots of blankets and tapes (why do you need to pack a rug with blankets) and as I said before, if I object, he treatesn to stop the move.
This is the worst part: He makes me sign on a bill which is not complete. The final amount is yet to be entered. I asked him a copy of the bill and he says that he will give at the time of unloading and I am unware of the consequence that he can fill in anything (any amount) in the bill because I have already signed it. This is the most fradulent part of the transaction.
Anyways, when we reach the destination (less that 1 mile from the source), I am give the bill of $1200 and the head guy again tells me that he would not release the items unless I pay him in FULL and in CASH. Assuming that a $300 quote can go upto $600 at max, I had about $700 in cash. The head guy just insisted on the CASH payment or else would take the belongings with him. I had to rush to the ATM immediately for the things to be released. I even called the COPS but they took the side of the moving company as I had already signed the documents.
Net net... NEVER EVER use NJ Elite movers.. ITS a FRADULENT company and NEVER trust the their initial quote. They give a low QUOTE and then suck the last drop of blood out of you.

Horrible
they quoted 225.00 and said they would come, wrap, and box all expensive furniture and leave it in my storage that way.
They arrived with a budget rental truck and 3 nasty mexicans.
They through my stuff around like a soccer ball.
they broke a 2500.00 dresser in pieces.
Boxes of items are missing
They charged me triple for tape!!! hundreds of dollares extra for tape and the Mexican's where rude !!!
do not use this company!
when i contacted them some dumb girl kept hanging up on me !!!
this company is a scam !!!

DID NOT DISCLOSE ALL THE FEES
Please read the others reviews about this company. Just key in the name in the google search. They quoted me $130.00 to move one bedroom set (not an apartment) and at the end of everything I owed $750.00. They have a lot of hiddens fee (even if they have to walk a certain distance) and thats no lie. There are other people that experienced the same treatment and even had to pay the same amount of 750.00.

Do you really want to take a chance? Ask them to send you a printout of all their fees and then make your decision. I never write reviews but I was in tears.

Also, if you don't pay the amount they tell you they take your furniture to a storage. They ended up given a price of $500.00 to move one queen size bedroom set. As I said, please do your research on this company. And the contract email (which I never received) only said the packing and materials so if your not an expert on moving you would neve think materials can cost you around $300.00.

Final bill and Estimate differ by 5 times
I have hired this movers based on their ad in 123movers.com and Craigslist and got a quote kind of mail for 210$. Then I called the number and found out it’s a hourly rate and the initial estimate is $210. Over the phone, I am told stairs, Blankets/Tapes are included. Two days before the move, a deposit of 150$ has been paid and got some free boxes. At the time of the move (7-Feb), I am asked to sign some docs (as explained related to insurance, cancellation fees and permission to enter). The supervisor of the move was cunning enough not to let me read the whole document. I am told I have to pay the final bill in cash and gave an estimate of around 300$ (no document evidence). I am also told the blankets and tapes are free of charge.

Once we reach the destination, the supervisor came up with a bill of 1000$. He demanded the remaining 850$ be paid before unloading by cash or else he will keep them in storage and charge me for storage as well. The charges for elevator, long carry and Env Protection to the tune of 400$ were included which I was never told. Also he charged me 160$ for the Blankets/Tapes. I did argue and he showed me that I signed some docs which specify these. Since he didn’t provide me a copy, I have no way of finding whether I signed any kind of document related to the charges. Since, I didn’t carry enough money, I offered to write a check. He insisted on paying before staring unload. He charged me an hour more for the time I took to draw the cash and come back.

Since I didn’t want to pay extra charges for storage, I had to pay him in full. Also these movers were very slow and whenever I asked them not to do wrapping, the supervisor was ready to stop the move and ask me for the cancellation fees (250$).

I would like to know whether you would be able to provide me any kind of assistance. This I feel is some kind of fraud by saying something over the phone and does something after wards. Also the initial estimate and final bill differ by 5 times.
