Poor service/product
NetZero is by FAR the worst dial-up ISP provider out there. I signed my friend’s grandma up for it to cover here till the cable came. I did the 30 days free and got the 3G package, to where the dial-up would be just as fast as DSL. WRONG what a total joke. The application to make the internet go download as fast as 3G's didn't even work. I was stuck with 5 bucks more worth of crap, but my friend’s grandma didn't complain too much since she wasn't paying. Well once she got cable I called to cancel and my god did I have a horrible time. I was connected to one of the over-seas reps. that didn't know English well. After Bull Shitting my through the conversation not understand her wasn't the worst. All she kept doing was pitching more offers to stay with NetZero, No I kept telling here I wanted to cancel and that was it. After five timers she told me I was going to get docked a 25 "hidden" fee, whatever, I just wanted to get the **** off this ISP.

Even though not everyone can get DSL/Cable, DON'T USE NETZERO AS AN ISP! Their applications that are supposed to make things run faster don't work, the people on their rep. line don't help, and you get docked with hidden fees.

Unauthorized charge!
Last month i canceled netzero because i got hi-speed. Oh!! So much better. But any who. I've been with netzero for over 1an half years. Couldn't afford anything else at the time. They said it would cost me 9.95 plus another 25.00 to shut me off. That is a load of @$&^%$. But they waited to to pull the 25.00 out of my account a month later. Which i didn't know until i got an overdraft of 59.00. 25.00 for netzero and 34.00 from my bank. I really don't have one nice thing to say about netzero. There getting rich on poor saps like myself!

I have contacted Netzero 3 times to cancel my membership-all within 3 days of signing up! I am currently on my fourth phone call, transferred multiple times and I believe I have now been disconnected. They have charged my card for the service $9.95 and still haven't credited my card! I cancelled this service August 22nd, 23rd, and it is now August 30th. If computers are supposed to increase the speed of response, then why does it seem customer service has gotten worse! They are now telling me they cannot refund the charge for 35 days. If they can charge my card immediately, then why can't they refund it back just as quickly? Are they going to pay me interest on the funds until I receive my credit-prob. not because businesses don't seem to understand this logic, as they continue to transfer people on eternal hold.

If companies actually listened to the consumer instead of continuing to drop the ball, blaming others, then perhaps their business would actually increase.

I cancelled my account with NetZero about two months ago, or so I thought. I was looking at my account today and noticed that they had billed me again. After a long process of trying to get through to them via telephone, I cancelled again. They said that they cannot return the money they took from me even though they could see that I haven't used their service. To make a long story short, I would not recommend NetZero to anybody. In fact, I would strongly urge people not to use them at all. I liken them to a parasite, and feel that the US Attorney should investigate them for fraud and theft.

Beware of NetZero!
Beware of NETZERO and it's software. In the past 6-8 months I have experienced the following using their service. I have logged on line and got a busy message more times than I can count on my hands and feet! I have as much problems loosing their signal and having to try to log back in, especially when I was downloading a file. The main problem was after all than I noticed the computer was having problems opening up, than after while it would not do anything. I had to take it in to be serviced, and the tech person informed me that NETZERO program had infected the whole harddrive. They could not do anything with it as NETZERO had thousands of HIDDEN Files and cookies that bogged the whole system down until it would not work! I did not know this until I had also put their software on a new computer I just had bought... then saw it was starting to do the same thing with it... not connection... busy message... dropped connection... slow startup... etc... Then I decided to to drop net NETZERO and take it off my new computer, where I found that it would not let it be taken off the computer, I had to call in to Microsoft for a tech person would worked on over the phone with me for 2.5 hours trying to remove NETZERO off, I will also add that NETZERO would not help me when I called in to uninstall their program they said I could leave it on there! On this new computer in just 7-12 days it had put on over 175 HIDDEN folders where a person could not find them unless he had a tech person helping! We also have another computer that was on the same phone line as the INFECTED computer and suspect that the line INFECTED our other computer as it will not open line the first one! On the new computer, with the help of Microsoft tech support online we removed most of the files to where it did uninstall the NETZERO hardware but still found empty folders with their name on that could not be removed! BEWARE of NETZERO...

Charged doubled amount for three months that I hadn't used them!
Beware of NetZero! I signed up for basic internet service with NetZero for a monthly fee of $10.95. After a few months, I called to cancel my NetZero service because I was moving out of state, and wasn't sure if I wanted to use NetZero in my new location. Three months later, I received a bill from NetZero for not only the three months that I hadn't used them, but they had doubled the price stating that it was for high speed internet and Norton Antivirus. I was outraged. To begin with, the very small town that I lived in when I had NetZero is not equipped for high speed internet, and this was the first time I had even heard of having Norton Antivirus. I called the NetZero number to rectify this matter. The number was answered by a person with a very heavy eastern Indian accent. They took my information, and told me they were transferring me to their customer service department, which I thought I was already talking to. While I waited, I was disconnected. I attempted this task twice, and both times I had to speak to a person with a very heavy eastern Indian accent, and both times I was disconnected. I emailed NetZero and told them what had happened. I received a reply stating that they couldn't cancel my account via an email, and that I needed to call the number that I had already called twice, and been disconnected. I emailed back and explained the problem again, and, as yet, have not received a reply.
