Nationwide Relocation Reviews

Rip off company
Nationwide Relocation is a joke and a complete rip-off. I contacted the company in September for a move at the end of October from Baltimore to Colorado. They gave me a two day window to pick up my items--Tuesday or Wednesday of the last week of October and told me someone would call a few days in advance to give the exact day. The weekend prior, I received two calls both indicating that the move would be on Tuesday. To this end, I made arrangements for my work schedule including the rescheduling of a meeting that required other colleague to travel. On Monday I received a call that the move ould be on Wednesday. I blew a fuse! I explained my situation and that I made arrangements based on the calls I received over the weekend. They did not care and did nothing to accomodate my situation. The movers showed up Wednesday afternoon after 4:00 pm--I had to be out of the house by mid-night that night.

The story gets worse. My contract outlined that I would pay based on the actual weight. Several days later I received a call from the moving company indicating that they would be delivering my stuff the following week and told me I owed $1200. I asked them what the weight was and they said it didn't matter that I had to pay based on the minimum. I told them I had a contract that said differently and they say they did not work that way. I called Nationwide Relocation as they are the broker and could not get anyone to call me back for two days. Finally someone returned my call and said they would email me the weight ticket. I called every day for five days asking for the weight ticket and no one could tell me what the actual weight was; however, they did agree that I was suppose to pay based on the actual weight. The moving company showed up today and said if I don't pay them the $1200 then they will take my stuff to storage and I will have to pay for storage and someone else to bring it back and unload it. There was no way I was going to just let them take my stuff away so I had no choice but to pay the $1200. In addition, one guy was unloading the truck!!! ONE GUY!! They sent no one else!! Complete rip off a company!

false promises
We had contracted with Nationwide Relocation for a move to Bentonille Arkansas. According to our conversation first with Mr Brandon and then with Ms Pauline it was decided that the movers would pack up all furniture like sofa, love seat, HDTV with glass stand and Dining Table with glass top and coffee table, in the decided contract price. We paid a deposit of $ 600.

But on the day the truckers arrived they said there was an extra charge of upto $400 to pack the above mentioned items. We immediately called up pauline who now retracted her earlier statement and said that the extra charge was applicable. And if we decided not to go ahead with the move we would have to forfeit the deposit.

I call this Blackmail in simple terms. While wanting our business the customer reps make all sorts of commitments

Never use them
Never use Nationwide relocation service and never trust the BBB. I hope my bank will reverse the amount they charged me for no service.

They never called to say that there would be a delay. They have there money so what do they care. I can't see how the Better Business Bureau backs them. The Better Business Bureau has gone down hill over the years. BBB get yourself together.

The worst service imaginable!
When I first setup the move the guy I talked to was really friendly and seemed helpful. Me and my husband wasn't there when they came to pick up the stuff. My mother-in-law and her husband were there instead. My husband had just come back from Iraq and had to be in North Carolina.

They weren't going to wrap a lot of the fragile things like the mirror that went with our dresser and the dresser and chest. My in-laws had to make them. They almost dropped our washer. They did drop our dresser though. We were giving an estimated weight of 4,424 pounds that we would be paying for. Our total cost was suppose to be $1998.10. Me and my husband decided to make it a little easier for them, so we loaded our expedition with our computer, a 23' tv, three sheets of glass that went to our end tables and coffee table, all of our clothes, video game system, 3 lamps and a dufflebag full of cleaning supplies. We lived in a one bedroom apartment and had nowhere near more than 5000 pounds worth of stuff.

When they arrived to meet us, since we live on base, my husband noticed that our mattress, boxspring and headboard were all outside of the truck strapped to the back. They were filthy and the headboard had deep gashes and scratches. We were told a few days prior to their arrival that we had reportedly gone over our weight by a 1000 pounds so we requested a re-weigh. When I told the driver about the re-weigh he disagreed and wouldn't take me. He said it would take too long and he had to be in florida by that night. So we allowed him to unload the truck. To do so we had to pay him first.

As our things were being unloaded I kept noticing deep scratches and gashes on the wood furniture like our sectional, headboard and footboard, and our diningroom table. A lot of our stuff arrived dirty, like our washer and dryer. They also began unloading stuff that didn't belong to us. They were also supposed to reassemble the bedroom set and the diningroom table and driver, Phillipe, refused saying that they weren't told to it.

In the end we paid over $2400 for a company that damaged our stuff, didn't fulfill the job requirement and overcharged us.
