Awful company
Moving Van Lines has not returned any of my phone calls, emails, or messages that I left. They picked up my shipment on December 5th, 2008 and promised me that it would be delivered to my son and daughter in law in CA. by the 14th of December, 2008. It is now December 29th, 2008 and now I know they are avoiding me entirely. I have only received read receipts from my email. No other phone calls or anyone from their company has contacted me what so ever. They have my phone number and my daughter in laws cell phone number. To add insult to this I was quoted a price of around one thousand dollars for the move. When all was loaded into the truck they told me it would now cost over $1900.00 dollars to ship my goods. They even charged me for tape. I have written them and left phone messages telling them that as far as I am concerned right now this is credit card fraud and if I didn't hear from them by end of business today I would be contacting my bank and a lawyer if need be and also the BBB of Tampa, FL. Right now I feel like they took my money and my goods and I don't think I will ever hear from them again. That is the definition of theft. This company is shady to say the least and I have to wonder if this was the same company that took my $500 deposit last year and never refunded it when they showed up and tried to price gouge me. I will defiantly be speaking to my bank in the morning. What other choice do I have? The really sad part of all of this is my son is in the Navy and this was his and his wifes first base housing; they had absolutely nothing for Christmas this year; as their gifts, tree, furniture, and household goods were this shipment. This company needs to be held accountable for their non actions.

Terrible company
Moving Van Lines picked up my furniture on 11/21/08. Today is 12/08/08 and I still do not have my furniture. When the furniture was picked up they told me it should be to my new location on November 30th or 31st. On December 1st I called and asked where my furniture was and was told they have 21 days to get our furniture to us. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told there was no one else. I have called multiply times and either they are no help or no one ever calls me back. The other kicker is when someone calls me they give me another date to expect my furniture and again the dates come and go and no furniture. Do NOT book this moving company for any kind of moves. Not only do they not believe in customer service, but they just don't care!!! To top it off I paid these clowns $3, 000 to move my furniture. If I don't have my furniture within 2 days I am going to call the police because this company is so bad they leave me no choice!!! Stay away from this moving company, worst company I have EVER dealt with.

Fraud and cheating
Quote provided and i was advised that there would not be additional charges. I agreed to the move and the movers arrived on set date. I was told that they would only transport my glass if it was packaged in their packaging which was very expensive (i.E. $75.00 per piece of glass). They also said that any items in excess of the original list would now be billed at 1.5 times the normal cost which was not disclosed up front.
After all the items were loaded on the truck, the foreman told me my bill was $1200 higher than my estimate. I immediately called the corporate office and filed a complaint. They waived one charge of $75 that was fraudulent. I had been charged for a long walking fee even though the distance was short (under 75 ft). Needless to say, they wouldn't take anything off.
I've contacted the company via email and phone on multiple occasions with no resolution. 10 business days after I paid with a company check, they called me to say that the check had been misplaced and that they just found it, and that it would be another 10 business days for the check to clear before I could get my stuff. They gave me the option of wiring them money and voiding that check, which I agreed to. They told me they wouldn't release the shipment from Tampa, FL until the wire was received. My company entered a wire request at the bank and the next day, the drivers called to say they were bringing my stuff.
Upon arrival, they stated that they needed full payment and said the wire had not been received. Called and went around and around with the company that day, even offered to pay via corporate credit card, but they would not accept because the person with the card was not physically at my house. They then said they were taking my stuff to storage and that I would have to pay a re-delivery fee of $450. The wire had not processed correctly as planned, however Randy released the shipment before confirming it... so they blame me.
I called and talked to the company. In speaking with Randy, she said that they don't trust drivers with lots of cash, so it would be better if I deposited money to their account so that the driver is not handling so much cash. With the re-delivery fee, I would be giving $1405 in cash. To accommodate her request, I deposited the full amount in their account and they are now paid in full.
I continue to call and be given the runaround. The company now has full payment and continues to make excuses as to why they cannot deliver it. They picked up my things in Tampa on 9/26/08. Today is 10/30/08 and I'm no better off than I was before. I've had nothing but headaches, hidden charges, lies, and more.
Tysh is the sales rep I had - created all sorts of lies during the sales process to bait me in. Built great rapport with me to trap me.
Randy is the manager - she has been very aggressive and rude towards me. She refuses to process my shipment and release the goods. Every time I call, it's a new story and I get referred to other people in the company.
Barak is the dispatcher/supervisor of some sort - he has been unhelpful in most instances and supports the runaround that Randy and team drive on a daily basis.
Serious corruption inside this company. Everyone supports everyone else's lies to make the game flow smoothly. They say that they are 'closed' for a holiday at least 1-2 days per week. Realize that they are Jewish but I don't believe that there are holidays every week. Also know that they must have caller ID. When I call from uncommon numbers, they answer promptly. When calling from my usual number, the call goes to voicemail.
I need my belongings!!!
