My firm has bought a number of inexpensive computers from Midwest Micro. We order the computers...they show up. We have an extremely compentant MIS person here so we had never needed to call for any major support until recently. That is when I learned of how poorly this firm is managed and how unresponsive they are to customer complaints.
Briefly, we asked for a new motherboard to replace a faulty motherboard for a new computer purchased from MidWest Micro. By the time the new motherboard arrived, we had straightened out the problem. MW's technical support was worthless. So we just put some postage on the package and returned the motherboard to Midwest Micro. Problem is Midwest Micro claims we sent a modem back to them. Never mind that we never actually opened the packed before we returned it. So MW billed us $200. I called to dispute the charge and I keep getting passed off to one individual. Curiously enough, this person is NEVER in the office and she NEVER returns voicemails.
It's not worth my time as an executive to go through an exhaustive complaint process with the BBB. I'm just going to take my thousands of dollars worth of annual PC purchases elsewhere. Someplace where the billing department returns phone calls.
